Disclaimer: This recipe is not Full Body Cleanse-approved. Sorry, folks, but sometimes we like to post recipes that work well as you transition into life after cleansing. These recipes are meant to help you, and you can also use them if you participate in our Maintenance Package or Going Vegan 20-day Challenge products. The name of the game is: simple ingredients. You do not have to overcomplicate things, and you definitely do not need to use harmful ingredients.

These vegan no bake cinnamon energy bites have a flavor that is reminiscent of a cinnamon roll, only these are much healthier. They make for a great on-the-go snack or breakfast treat. Just one or two will help fill you up and simultaneously satisfy your sweet tooth. You may already have the ingredients on hand! These energy bites contain the following:

  • Cinnamon: This warming spice helps to give the bites their signature spice flavor.
  • Rolled oats: The oats not only add a lot of fiber and protein, but they also give the bites an extra chewy texture. They also serve as a binder, which helps the bites stay together when you form them.
  • Medjool dates: Time for the sweetness! These dates work to provide natural sweetness and, similar to the oats, act as a binder to help everything stick together.
  • Almond butter: Almond butter provides a lovely richness and creaminess, along with more protein and healthy fats. Just make sure that you get the unsweetened and oil-free variety. In fact, try to get raw almond butter, as that is the best version.
  • Vanilla extract: A little vanilla extract goes a long way, and it also complements the cinnamon. If you can, purchase pure alcohol-free vanilla extract, as that is a better product.

Oatmeal is a classic, no frills breakfast, but think of it as a blank canvas. Once you have your oatmeal, you can mix and match ingredients to get a variety of flavors and textures in your breakfast bowl. We understand that oatmeal may not be your go-to breakfast, but this recipe may earn a slot in your top 10. Oats are one of the easiest grains to cook because you simply throw them in a pot with liquid and call it a day. Depending on the oats you purchase, you may need to cook them for a couple minutes or 10 minutes. Either way, your fiber-rich, protein-packed bowl of oats is ready in no time.

There are several types of oats, with the most popular varieties being steel cut, rolled, and quick oats. Steel cut oats have a firmer texture and are the least processed oat variety. They can take up to 20 minutes to cook, but they contain a lot of fiber! Rolled oats are very popular and act as a pleasant middle ground between steel cut and quick oats. They are very easy to make, but do not cook as fast as quick oats, which form a creamy oatmeal in a minute or so.

For the best bowl of oatmeal, we live by four key components. You need to hit notes of creaminess, sweetness, a little saltiness, and something special or extra. What is the extra flavor? Well, that entirely depends on your palate, but cinnamon, cocoa, peanut butter, vanilla, berries, or coconut yogurt are excellent options. We hope this recipe kickstarts your desire to make more bowls of oatmeal on a regular basis!

A peanut butter oatmeal smoothie is the perfect way to start your day. It’s a quick and easy vegan breakfast or snack option that contains a lot of protein and fiber. Besides the creamy texture and prominent peanut flavor, this smoothie comes together with a handful of pantry staples, including oats, peanut butter, and banana. It’s a great smoothie to have along your weight loss journey, serving as a filling breakfast option during busy mornings.

If you are not a fan of oatmeal but want enjoy the health benefits of oats, blending them into a smoothie is a great way to do that. Oats offer protein, fiber, and complex carbohydrates, and some studies indicate that they may aid digestion and benefit heart health. Don’t worry about the oats making the smoothie taste too dry or grainy. While they may add a slightly grainy texture to the smoothie, the creaminess of the banana and peanut butter make this smoothie very enjoyable to drink. To make the smoothie extra creamy and almost milkshake-like, make sure to peel, slice, and freeze the bananas overnight. Frozen bananas are the ticket to the perfect smoothie!

When it comes to which oats to add to this smoothie, you should choose rolled oats or quick oats. Both varieties are great because they are soft and chewy, therefore they blend easily. Do not use steel cut oats, unless you want an unpleasant smoothie drinking experience. Because oats are great sources of fiber, they help fill you up and keep you from snacking between meals. That’s great news for your weight loss efforts!

How do you enjoy a snack that fills you up but doesn’t weigh you down? This can be a challenge, especially if your goal is to find that perfect pre-workout snack. The best way to ensure optimal performance and energy during your workout is to fill up with protein, healthy fats, and fiber. Fortunately for you, the ingredients in these chocolate chia power balls contain all of those nutrients, and then some! Plus, who doesn’t love a chocolatey treat? Especially one that is healthy!

The rolled oats and chia seeds give these power balls the power you need to get through your workout, or a dull afternoon at the office. Maybe you need a little fuel while out with the kids. Whatever you need the energy for, these chocolate chia power balls can help. If you’ve made energy bites or power balls before, you’ll notice that this recipe differs from most others. For example, this recipe doesn’t contain nuts or dates. Additionally, this recipe doesn’t require a food processor or high-speed blender. That is because you melt the almond butter, maple syrup, and cacao powder over low heat before mixing them with the rolled oats and chia seeds.

Once you mix those ingredients together, refrigerate it for about five minutes to cool down. Once you remove the mixture from the fridge, you can fold in the dairy-free chocolate chips. The reason you want to cool your chocolate, oat, and chia mixture is so the chocolate chips don’t melt. You want the power balls to have chocolate chunks! It’s like

Even if you don’t adhere to a vegan diet, knowing how to make a great bowl of oatmeal is a skill you should have. The sad reality is that many people rely on sugary packets of flavored oatmeals. In reality, those little packets are not really oatmeal; rather, they are concoctions of sugar and processed ingredients. Oatmeal doesn’t have to be a bowl of sugar, but it doesn’t have to be a bland bowl of fiber either.

Oatmeal is a fiber-rich breakfast option that helps you sustain energy until your next meal. The nutritional content may vary depending on what you add to your bowl of oats. This recipe, for example, contains a mixture of rolled oats, cinnamon, banana, chia seeds, and the non-dairy milk of your choice. You can incorporate other nourishing ingredients like almond butter or peanut butter, fresh banana slices, blueberries, and chopped almonds as toppings.

The great thing about this nutritious breakfast bowl is that you don’t have to add additional sweetener like agave or maple syrup. The mashed banana that you incorporate into the oatmeal provides natural sweetness. Just make sure the banana is nice and yellow with some brown spots because that will lend a sweeter flavor to the oatmeal. Lastly, no matter what non-dairy milk you decide to use, make sure that it is unsweetened. Almond milk and oat milk work great in this recipe, but you can use cashew milk or macadamia nut milk if you prefer those options.

Craving banana bread but don’t feel like baking or consuming more than a cup of sugar? These sweet little energy bites are exactly what you need. You can make them with only six ingredients in just 10 minutes. Not only are they vegan and gluten-free, but they are also great snacks for kids and adults alike. Keep them in the fridge and enjoy when ready, or make a big batch and store them in the freezer, taking them out whenever you want a snack.

Although this recipe calls for walnuts or pecans, almonds work too. Feel free to mix and match the nuts you enjoy for this recipe, so long as they total one cup. For the oats, we chose rolled oats, but you can use gluten-free oats if you don’t eat gluten. And to keep it vegan, the chocolate chips have to be dairy-free. If you cannot find dairy-free chocolate chips, you can use chopped dark chocolate, but the chocolate chips are recommended.

When it comes time to make the banana bread bites, start by adding the nuts to the food processor. Pulse until you achieve a crumbly consistency. Then you can add rolled oats, dates, banana, cinnamon, and vanilla extract and blend until grainy and broken down. At that point, add the chocolate chips and pulse until you get a sticky, dough-like consistency, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed. Form the mixture into little bite-size balls with your hands and refrigerate them to harden. You can place them in the freezer to accelerate that process, which helps you enjoy them quicker!

There is never a wrong time to pamper yourself, but it seems to have an extra special effect when the weather is warm. Whether you have dry skin, struggling skin, irritated skin, or you just want to improve skin health, a face mask is an excellent way to rejuvenate the skin. Both oatmeal and honey, the two primary ingredients in this face mask, help to leave your skin looking and feeling great.

Why Oatmeal?

Oatmeal is more than a healthy breakfast option that supplies the body with protein, complex carbs, and fiber. It is naturally rich in antioxidant anti-inflammatory compounds, in addition to avenanthramides, all of which help to soothe dry or irritated skin. Because of the anti-inflammatory nature of oatmeal, it does wonders for acne-prone skin. In fact, oatmeal works to absorb excess oil from the skin’s surface, which is one of the reasons why it exists in many facial mask recipes.

It’s very common to see colloidal oatmeal on the ingredient lists of skin care products. Colloidal oats differ slightly from a regular container of rolled oats that you eat. They have a higher lipid content, meaning they offer more antioxidants to help protect the skin’s barrier. The colloidal oats also work to alleviate irritation, soothe sun damage, and control dryness. You can finely grind oats and boil them to extract the colloidal material, which is a gel-like substance that has moisture-trapping molecules. You may notice that your skin looks younger and more supple after applying oats to the skin.

Why Honey?

This sweet and sticky byproduct of bees is very valuable when it comes to cosmetic uses. Raw honey exhibits antibacterial, exfoliation, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties. It is a common ingredient to apply to eczema- or psoriasis-prone skin. People who deal with acne can also benefit from applying honey to the skin, especially Manuka honey. According to several studies, Manuka honey exhibits anti-acne activity and was comparable, more effective even, to other popular acne products.

Honey works to accelerate the healing processes of various skin cells. If you have an eczema outbreak or deal with blemishes, unpasteurized honey works to speed up healing and reduce inflammation. Even now, some doctors in clinical settings use honey to help accelerate wound healing. Raw honey also happens to be a natural exfoliator, so applying it to your face may help remove dull, dry skin to reveal healthy new cells. This contributes to a brighter, smoother complexion.

Honey Oatmeal Face Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey
  • 1 tablespoon virgin coconut oil
  • 1.5 tablespoons filtered water

Instructions:

  • Use a coffee or spice grinder to grind the oats into a fine oatmeal powder.
  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the ground oatmeal, raw honey, and coconut oil. Add the water a little bit at a time until it forms a paste. It shouldn’t be too thick or thin.

To Use:

  • Wash your face so that you have a nice clean base, on which you can apply the mask. Pat your face dry before continuing.
  • Using your fingers or a fan brush, apply the honey oatmeal face mask generously on your face. Make sure that you avoid your eyes, nostrils, and mouth.
  • Leave the mask on for 5-10 minutes. It may dry on your face, but this is perfectly fine.
  • Rinse the mask off with cool water and pat dry with a soft towel. Apply your favorite moisturizer and appreciate your lovely, smooth facial skin.

Overnight oats are all over Pinterest boards and Instagram videos show how easy it is to make them. Some people think oats are bland and boring, but you have to dress them up a bit to maximize flavors. That’s one of the reasons overnight oats work so well. Because the jar of ingredients sits in the fridge overnight, the flavors intensify and create harmonious marriages by the time you eat it. You can grab it from the fridge, add some optional toppings, and take it on the go with you. That’s why overnight oats are perfect for anyone who wants to save time in the morning.

One of the reasons why we love oats is because they contain a lot of complex carbohydrates, fiber, and protein. They help keep you full until your next meal, reducing your cravings and unhealthy snacking habits. The slow release of energy is the reason why you don’t crash after you eat a cup or bowl of oats. This is excellent if you need to remain productive. This recipe calls for oats, peanut butter, chia seeds, unsweetened almond milk, cinnamon, and banana. That’s it, folks. Just try to purchase all natural peanut butter that doesn’t contain added sugars, flavors, and excess sodium.
