Erectile dysfunction (ED) can be a normal part of having a penis, to put it bluntly. Sorry, folks, but these issues are part of manhood, especially as men age. Ongoing ED issues can interfere with your sex life, but they can also cause issues outside the bedroom.

What is Erectile Dysfunction?

ED is the inability to get and keep an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse. If you have trouble achieving an erection from time to time, you don’t need to worry or doom scroll different medical websites. If ED is an ongoing issue, though, it may cause stress and affect your self-confidence, two things that can create relationship problems. Underlying health conditions can also increase the risk of ED, so you may want to treat the conditions in order to remedy the ED problem.

In the past, health professionals thought that ED resulted from psychological causes. These days, experts say that ED is commonly caused by physical health issues, such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and vascular disease. Some prescription drugs, including antidepressants, blood pressure meds, and sedatives, can also cause ED. In some cases, a combination of physical and psychological factors may cause the issue. Below, we will highlight everyday habits that can worsen ED. You may not even know that you are causing the problem!

5 Common habits that fuel Erectile Dysfunction

1. Being sedentary

If you do not engage in regular physical activity, then you are at a higher risk for developing ED. Research indicates that regular aerobic exercise, such as swimming, cycling, or walking, can significantly improve ED. A 2023 study found that exercise can improve ED symptoms just as effectively as medications like Viagra. Just remember that ED can serve as a barometer for underlying cardiovascular health. Urologists suggest that you engage in aerobic exercise to improve cardiovascular health to positively influence erectile health and function.

2. Using marijuana

As of 2024, marijuana is legalized for recreational use in 24 states, plus the District of Columbia. People use it to help promote relaxation, improve sleep, and reduce anxiety. Although some people report that using cannabis increases libido and improves sexual performance, it may be harmful in the long run. According to researchers, THC, the active compound in cannabis, affects the brain’s neurotransmitters. Over time, that can disrupt the necessary signals to achieve an erection. Chronic marijuana use can also reduce testosterone levels, which can impair sexual performance and libido. In some individuals, marijuana can increase feelings of anxiety and paranoia, which can contribute to performance anxiety and worsen ED.

3. Insufficient sleep

If you do not get enough sleep, cortisol levels can increase and testosterone levels can decrease. How significant that decrease is will depend on how sleep-deprived you are. Higher cortisol levels can increase levels of stress and anxiety, in addition to weight gain, moodiness, and mental performance. If you do not regularly get enough sleep, you may experience fatigue and a reduced interest in sexual activity. That lack of interest can worsen sexual dysfunction, both of which feed off each other. Urologists note that men who do not sleep enough may not produce sufficient signal from the pituitary gland, and ultimately suffer from low testosterone and ED.

4. Drinking too much alcohol

Health experts note that a drink or two here and there will most likely not have a big impact on sexual health. Excessive alcohol intake, however, can lead to ED problems in the short- and long-term. Alcohol is a depressant that can interfere with the brain’s ability to send the right signals that trigger an erection. Heavy drinking can also reduce testosterone levels, which are integral for optimal sexual function. Additionally, chronic alcohol use can worsen symptoms of anxiety and depression, which can negatively impact sexual health.

5. Smoking

In case you needed another reason to stop smoking cigarettes, this is it. Smoking can damage blood vessels, which reduces blood flow through the body, including to the penis. Nicotine constricts blood vessels, limiting the circulation necessary for an erection. Long-term smoking can also lead to permanent vascular damage, making erections much more difficult to achieve. Finally, smoking increases the risk of developing other health issues, including diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension, all of which can cause ED. In fact, men who smoke cigarettes are almost two times as likely to develop ED compared to men who don’t smoke.

The post Could Cannabis Oil Be The Cure For Cancer? appeared first on Dherbs - The Best All Natural Herbal Remedies & Products.

]]>

There is a constant search for the cure for cancer, which is an ever-present and growing epidemic that plagues millions of people every year. For years, a widely popular, natural, and beneficial cancer treatment option has been the use of marijuana, but smoking the substance also causes harmful effects on the body. Cannabis oil, while not fully backed by scientific evidence, has become a desirable option that could help cure cancer.

What is Cancer?

Cancer is not a disease, but rather a process that affects the cells in the body. The process causes cells to rapidly grow without dying. In the normal process that is apoptosis, cells grow, separate, and die. If this system doesn’t function properly, cancer cells, which aren’t programmed to die, will keep growing out of control. The causes of cancer are aplenty, including age, genes, carcinogens, environment, immune system dysfunction, bacteria, viruses, and lifestyle choices. When cancer cells grow they can form a mass, which is known as a tumor. When a tumor grows it can inhibit proper bodily functions, primarily with the nervous, circulatory, or digestive systems, and cause health problems. The type of cancer will be determined by the kind of cells that happen during this growth process.

What is Cannabis Oil?

Before we can discuss how this may be the cure for cancer, we must first clarify what cannabis oil is. Cannabis oil differs from other essential oils because of the plant from which it is derived. It starts with the cannabis sativa plant, of which hemp and marijuana are primary varieties. Marijuana has a higher tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabinoid (CBD) content than hemp. Cannabinoids activate cell membrane receptors and cause a person to feel stoned (high).

The second thing to know is that cannabis oil is not hempseed oil. A lot of names get thrown around when it comes to cannabis, but they are not the same. While hempseed oil is cold-pressed from hemp seeds, cannabis oil is made from the buds of female marijuana plants. The THC and CBD in the bud impact cells and provide medicinal properties.

Cannabis oil is highly volatile and has strong medicinal properties that benefit different conditions. Because of the legal ramifications that surround cannabis oil, it is not easily obtained or widely used in the medical field. This is a shame because there is evidence that it could be curing cancer.

Possible Cancer Cure?

How exactly does cannabis oil cure cancer? There isn’t a simple answer. It all starts at the cellular level, where cancer begins to grow. In each cell there are sphingolipids, which manage a cell’s life and death. If ceramide (lipid molecules) is high then cell death (apoptosis) is certain, but a cell continues to grow and strengthen if ceramide is low. Now, there is an inner cannabinoid system living in all cells waiting to be reacted by its external cannabinoid match; we’ll come back to this later. When THC enters the system and connects to the CB1 or CB2 cannabinoid receptor in the cancer cell, there is an increase in ceramide, which causes the death of the cell. How cool is that?

There is a cell nucleus, many mitochondria, and organelles in the cytoplasm of every cell. A cancer cell dies because of a minor change in the mitochondria, which produce energy (ATP) for cell use. Cytochrome c is an important protein involved in energy synthesis. As ceramide levels increase, cytochrome c gets pushed out of the mitochondria, ultimately killing the cell’s energy source. Ceramide disrupts the cell’s digestive system and blocks pro-survival pathways, which means that there is no chance for cancer cell survival.

In order for this process to work, ceramide levels have to be high. Regular therapeutic amounts of cannabis oil must be ingested orally over time to ensure the cancer cell death pathway. This pathway exists because there is an endocannabinoid system in all animal life. Our endocannabinoid system manages our nerves by flowing between the immune and central nervous systems. So when the body is sick, stressed, or damaged, the endocannabinoid system comes to the rescue by instructing the immune system to heal the body in the most natural way possible.

Because inner cannabinoids exist in our bodies, there is a plug and socket fit when the external cannabinoid comes in contact with its internal match. The body can use both THC and CBD interchangeably. In the case of cancer, the body uses the THC and CBD to sustain pressure on the homeostatic systems. THC and CBD possess the ability to kill cancer cells and can intercept the pathway to inhibit tumor growth. CBD, commonly found in indica plants, will travel to CB2 receptor cites in the spleen, which plays an important part in your immune system, and then immune cells attack and kill cancer cells.

This is a lot of information to absorb, but illustrates that there is a remedy for cancer in nature that fits with our immune systems. It is important to note that cannabis oil cannot cure all cancer, as some forms of it are too advanced and not caught early enough for treatment to be effective. It is, however, a natural and herbal remedy that is, in an increasing number of cases, helping to cure cancer. With more scientific research and testing, cannabis oil could very well be the cure for a deathly illness.

Marijuana is a common name of the plant called cannabis. Cannabis sativa is the botanical name for marijuana.

The medicinal part of cannabis is the flowering tops. Cannabis is an herbaceous annual plant found growing wild and also cultivated in warm climates. It can be found most everywhere in the U.S.

The rough, angular, branched stems reach a height of 3-10 feet and bear opposite (or alternate near the top), palmate leaves with 5 to 7 narrow, lanceolate, coarsely serrate, pointed leaflets. The flowers are small and green, the male growing on one plant in axillary panicles, the female on another on spike-like clusters from August to October. The fruit is a small, ash-colored achene. (SOURCE: John Lust, The Herb Book, pg. 145-46.)

How it Works

The chemical agent that gives marijuana its chief property is called THC (tetrahydrocannabinol).

Marijuana is primarily known for its euphorigenic and opiating properties. It is said to lift the spirits. It also is a muscle relaxant and an anesthetic (numbing pain). In addition to the properties supra, marijuana is also listed as an antiepilectic (combats epilepsy), antitussive (prevents coughing), antibiotic, antiasthmatic, antispasmodic, analgesic, hypnotic, oxytocic, antidepressant, anodyne (prevents pain), neuralgia (prevents migraine headaches), appetite stimulant, tranquilizer, nervine, and topical anesthetic.

The plant primarily was grown and used for industrial purposes. It is reported that there are over 300 industrial uses for cannabis or hemp. Ship’s charts, maps, logs, and Bibles were made from cannabis or hemp. Clothes, uniforms, textiles and fabrics, ropes, sails, pennants and ensigns were also made from hemp.

Healing Options

The U.S. Pharmacopoeia indicates cannabis can be used for treating ailments such as:

 • Fatigue
 • Fits of coughing
 • Rheumatism
 • Asthma
 • Delirium tremens (alcohol withdrawl)
 • Migraine headaches
 • Menstrual cramps
 • Depression

Side Effects

Some of the negative effects of Marijuana use include destroyed brain cells. It impairs cognitive skills and memory recall. It also affects the hypothalamus gland, which regulates appetite.

Metaphysically speaking, marijuana causes etheric or auric mucus. It causes a dark grayish appearance in the aura, which denotes serious toxicity.

Smoking marijuana also impairs sexual activity. Instead of oxygen circulating to the genitals, carbon monoxide circulates to the genitals.

Smoking marijuana is deleterious for a developing baby in the womb. Be aware that marijuana smoke like all other smoke corrupts and pollutes the bloodstream.

Dherbs Solutions

Many health advocates are pro marijuana for healing and medicinal purposes. Dherbs.com is PRO marijuana as a medicinal, in liquid extract or tea form.

Congestion in the body, especially in the lungs, is the result of phlegm or mucus. Congestion is very common for adults, children and babies who consume meat, dairy, refined grains and starches.

A normal body function when there is congestion in the chest area is a cough. A cough is a reflex action.

Causes and Risk Factors

Most cases of congestion pertain to congestion or accumulation of mucus in the lungs. Congestion, or mucus congestion.

Causes of congestion are:

 • Respiratory infection
 • Deviated septum
 • Asthma
 • Common cold and influenza
 • Allergies
 • Croup
 • Pulmonary edema
 • Lung cancer
 • Pneumonia
 • Heart failure
 • Cystic fibrosis

Symptoms

Symptoms of congestion are:

 • Coughing (a reflex action)
 • Shortness of breath
 • Labored breathing
 • Chest pain
 • Dizziness
 • Runny nose
 • Wheezing
 • Chest discomfort
 • Blood in cough
 • Noise while breathing

Healing Congestion and Coughing Naturally

When there is congestion, drink plenty of water. Alkaline water is best, as alkalinity counteracts acidity. For more of an effect, squeeze lemon juice in the water (warm water is best) and add a pinch of cayenne pepper, stir well and drink. You can do this as much as you like. It will only help remedy the congestion and cough as it will help dissolve the stubborn and hardened mucus.

Herbs

Individual herbs that are excellent and efficacious in cases of congestion include:

Cayenne, though not a mucilaginous or demulcent herb, works wonderfully well in conditions of mucus congestion. So does Black Pepper, Ginger Root, and Horseradish (used to make Wasabi for sushi).

Marijuana (in tea form) is a powerful herb for congestion and coughing bouts. Unfortunately however, the herb is banned here in the U.S. (due to political reasons). So you would be wise to stay away from this herb (to prevent getting yourself in trouble with the federal government).

The single best herb for coughing is Wild Cherry Bark, which provides natural codeine (bio-codeine). Wild Cherry Bark, unlike many pharmaceutical grade medications on the market, does not suppress a cough or coughing, but instead works with the cough (a normal body reflex) and facilitates the coughing process. Wild Cherry Bark works well with White Pine Bark (or Spruce).

Remember, we never want to suppress a cough because suppressing a cough keeps the mucus or phlegm in the body and thus, the congestion will return at a later date.

Essential Oils

There are essential oils known to be effective in cases of congestion and coughing include:

Eucalyptus is by far the best herb to use to counteract congestion. It should be inhaled, added to bath or soak water, and rubbed on the chest (especially before bedtime).

To apply to the chest, first rub on a little carrier oil (like olive or coconut oil) to your (or another person’s) chest, then add about 5-7 drops of Eucalyptus to your palm and rub or massage into the chest area. Make sure you open your window too as this oil works in tandem with the natural air that helps to dissolve hardened and stubborn mucus.

You can also add one drop of essential oil of Eucalyptus to a glass of warm water, stir well, and drink. You can do this 2-3 times a day.

In hot bath water, add 5-8 drops of Eucalyptus oil and 1-2 boxes of sea salt and soak for about 30-45 minutes. This is a great anti-congestion soak that I highly recommend. For infants and babies: use only 2-3 drops of oil and only half a box of sea salt and let the child soak for about 20-30 minutes.

Crystals

Zoisite is also known to be effective in cases of congestion and coughing. It’s believed that Zoisite can help neutralize overacidification and reduce inflammation.

Margarite is another recommended crystal for mucus accumulation. It’s a form of mica that helps balance the acidity level of the body and to improve acidosis conditions.

These crystals and stones can be directly applied to the chest area or placed in a glass of water overnight and drank the next morning as an elixir.

Natural Healing Options for Children

For babies suffering with mucus congestion, add carrier oil to his/her chest and add only 1-2 drops of essential oil of Eucalyptus (and/or White Pine Bark) and rub into the child’s chest. Afterwards, dress the child with warm clothing and make sure the window is cracked (slightly opened) so a nice breeze can come into the room, as this works along with the oil and warmth caused by the clothing to cause the hardened mucus to dissolve.

Infants with congestion: 1-2 drops of essential oil Babies with congestion: 2-3 drops of essential oil Small children with congestion: 3-4 drops of essential oil

Carrier oils include: olive oil, coconut oil, grape seed oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, rose hip seed oil, etc. Shea butter can also serve as a carrier.

Try a preparation of tea of Mullein leaves, Eucalyptus Leaves, White Pine Bark, and Wild Cherry Bark (or any one of these herbs individually), let it cool down, add a little lemon or lime juice, and some maple syrup (Grade B or C) or agave nectar or vegetable glycerine to sweeten, stir well, and pour contents into a baby bottle and let the baby drink this wonderful tea which should stimulate expectoration of mucus or phlegm.

These teas can be bought separately and mixed together (adding the various teabags to one cup of hot water).

Any demulcent formula tea is also good to give to the baby following the instructions above.

Over-the-Counter Drugs

Beware of all commercial pharmaceutical grade brands of antitussive and demulcent medications (cough syrup), especially Nyquil, due to the alcohol content and other ingredients. These harmful products impair motor skills, the nervous system, and the blood and liver among other things.

There are few good alternative brands of cough syrups (most made of elder berries) on the market at good health food stores that are safe and ideal to use. However, some of them may be made with honey, so make sure you read the labels. Honey should not be given to babies under the age of two.
