Nobody wants to look at a picture of themselves and see a whole lot of yellowing their smile. At the same time, harsh whitening strips can irritate the gums and teeth, especially if you are more sensitive to those strips. You don’t have to carefully place whitening strips on your teeth now that you have this homemade toothpaste recipe that helps to whiten teeth. It contains activated charcoal, which is mildly abrasive and helps get you a brighter smile.

Avoid Harsh Teeth Whitening

If you want a gorgeous smile that’ll stand the test of time in family photos, chemical whiteners may not be your best bet. According to research, chemical whitening strips may cause gum irritation, tooth sensitivity, or permanent enamel damage. What’s even more interesting is that scientists don’t quite know how these strips work exactly, or the effects they have in the long run.

At-home whitening treatments tend to contain hydrogen peroxide, which helps remove stains or general discoloration. Hydrogen peroxide can be beneficial in certain situations, but it may not be the best ingredient for oral care. Hydrogen peroxide bleaching agents damage dentin, the tooth layer underneath enamel. If you have weaker teeth, you have a greater risk of developing tooth decay. Even though you see a product in stores, that doesn’t mean it is good for your health.

Whitening Teeth The Natural Way

There are many excellent toothpaste recipes that contain natural ingredients. Some companies offer great options in stores, but they can be quite expensive. If you are on a homemade kick and want to add more DIY recipes to your collection, this toothpaste is a great option. This whitening toothpaste contains beneficial ingredients and stays the same consistency at any temperature. The reason for that is because this recipe does not contain coconut oil, a popular ingredient in DIY oral care recipes. It contains MCT oil, which is derived from coconut oil, but stays liquid at different temperatures.

This natural toothpaste is not as sweet as the conventional toothpastes you’re familiar with, nor does it foam. It doesn’t contain baking soda, so it won’t be salty like other natural options. This recipe contains a small amount of essential oils for flavoring.

Essential Oils In Toothpaste

For the record, not every essential oil is safe to put in your mouth. Some are safe for adults and not for children. The quantity of the oil(s) you choose also plays a role. Cinnamon or peppermint essential oils are irritating and you should use these options sparingly, especially when compared to orange essential oil. Essential oils are completely optional for this homemade whitening toothpaste, but they can make it taste better. You may want to use grapefruit or lemon essential oil.

Before we get to the recipe, we must discuss activated charcoal. It is a great ingredient for whitening teeth because it helps remove surface stains. Incorporating it into a recipe is much better for your teeth because it isn’t as harsh as using it with water alone. Activated charcoal also helps to improve the pH level of your mouth, making it more alkaline to protect against cavities and gingivitis

Homemade Natural Whitening Toothpaste

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup calcium carbonate powder
  • 3 tablespoons xylitol powder
  • 1/4 cup MCT oil
  • 2 teaspoons activated charcoal powder
  • 20 drops essential oil of choice (optional and see above information)

Instructions:

  • Before you begin, make sure that the xylitol powder is finely ground and not coarse. If necessary, add it to a coffee grinder and blitz until very fine.
  • Add all of the ingredients to a small bowl and whisk to combine. Transfer the mixture to a glass jar or squeeze tube and use as needed when you brush your teeth.
  • Store in a cool area and do not allow water to get into the jar or tube of toothpaste.

How To Get Rid Of Gas Quickly

Gas that gets trapped in the intestines can be quite painful. Oftentimes, gas can cause swelling, tightness, sharp pains, cramping, and even bloating. According to several surveys, people pass gas between 13 and 21 times per day. When there is no way for gas to escape, diarrhea or constipation may be to blame. Should you need quick relief, continue reading to learn how to get rid of gas quickly

What Is Gas?

Intestinal gas, which forms in the digestive system, is a mixture of vapors, including carbon dioxide, oxygen, methane, nitrogen, and hydrogen. When these vapors mix with intestinal bacteria, an unpleasant odor develops. Intestinal gas is a fact of life, as it naturally results as the body digests food. The small intestine lacks the enzymes necessary to digest and absorb carbohydrates in sweet, starchy, and fibrous foods. As the undigested food passes into the large intestine, harmless bacteria break down food and form hydrogen and carbon dioxide gasses. Some intestinal bacteria produce methane gas as well. It is this digestive process that causes flatulence.

Burping and flatulating are two ways that the body eliminates gas. Experts say that the average person produces one to four quarts of gas every day. That explains passing gas 13-21 times per day. Some people don’t have an issue with gas, but it can become a problem if it doesn’t go away. If you regularly experience pain because of gas, then something more serious may be going on with your body.

To Get Rid Of Gas And Bloating Take Some Activated Charcoal

Activated charcoal is a safe and effective natural remedy to help relieve bloating and gas. This type of charcoal is safe for human consumption, and it’s often the first thing given after the stomach is pumped in hospitals. After swallowing the charcoal, it works to draw gasses into itself. This helps the body naturally flush out gas and reduce bloating. Additionally, it may help remove any irritants that exist within the digestive tract.

Empty Your Bowels

If you need to go, go. There is no sense in holding it in because you aren’t in the comfort of your own home. Having a bowel movement helps relieve you of gas or stomach discomfort in two ways. It activates the muscles in the large intestine, which encourages the elimination of gas. Additionally a bowel movement empties the rectum of stored stool, freeing up the area to allow trapped gas to escape.

To Get Rid Of Trapped Gas Move Your Body

According to one study, gentle exercise helps to relieve gas pain or bloating. Walking is the easiest form of exercise and you can do it anytime, anywhere. Although it seems simple, walking works to relax the muscles in the abdomen. Upon relaxation, the muscles can help trapped gas escape. Yoga is another accessible and easy option to help get rid of gas quickly. Several poses, including happy baby and child’s pose, may be very effective at moving gas through the intestines.

Apply A Heat Pack

Heat is naturally soothing and experts commonly recommend a heat pack to ease an upset stomach. Many studies confirm that heat naturally relaxes muscles, so applying it to the stomach helps relax the ones in the gut. By relaxing the muscles with a heating pad, hot water bottle, or even hot bath, you help gas escape. If you use a heating pad or hot water bottle, place a towel or clothing item between your bare skin and the heat source. You don’t want to burn your skin!

Try Some Herbal Remedies

One method that may provide quick relief is chewing fennel seeds. These seeds have the ability to relieve intestinal gas, but don’t chew more than one teaspoon. Keep in mind that you may want to choose a different remedy if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as there is mixed information about the safety of these women eating fennel seeds. You can also drink peppermint and chamomile teas, both of which are carminatives. That means that they calm the stomach and help get rid of gas quickly. If gas results from indigestion, chew on some ginger or drink ginger tea to accelerate metabolism and improve digestion.

If you are familiar with a clay face mask, you know that it works to cleanse your skin. There’s a feeling of rejuvenation when you rinse the mask off your face. You can visibly see that your skin is brighter, cleaner, and refreshed. If you have never experimented with a clay mask, this recipe is going to do wonders for your face.

Before you dive face first into this mask, you’re going to want a dust mask for safety. Grab one of your trusty COVID-19 masks and strap it on because the last thing you want to do is inhale the powders. Inhalation of the powders can be quite harmful to your lungs and respiratory system, so do you best to protect your nose and mouth while preparing the mask.

Activated Charcoal

Activated charcoal is a very porous substance that is processed at high temperatures. It’s a popular ingredient in beauty products because of the adsorption properties. Activated charcoal works to pull toxins and bacteria from your pores, leaving it extra clean and fresh. For people who suffer from acne, activated charcoal cleansers or masks can be beneficial because they deep clean pores and actually make them smaller. Additionally, several studies found that activated charcoal limits excess oil production.

Rhassoul Clay

Belonging to the smectite family of clays (same as bentonite), rhassoul clay has an ability to expand when exposed to a liquid. Rhassoul clay has several names, including red clay, Moroccan clay, and ghassoul clay. It comes from volcanic ash at the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. There isn’t much scientific data, but there are many anecdotal reports of the skin-enhancing benefits of rhassoul clay. It works to naturally exfoliate the skin, removing excess oil and dead skin cells. It also contributes to clearer skin that feels smoother and softer. It’s similar to activated charcoal in that it helps to lift impurities from the skin.

Kaolin Clay

Kaolin clay, or white clay, is a soft clay that’s been used to make porcelain products in China for centuries. It also happens to be a popular addition to toothpastes, hair products, and skin care products. Kaolin clay has the ability to absorb oil and may contribute to smoother skin. Many people like to use kaolin clay as an exfoliant because it is gentler on the skin than other clays. Preliminary research suggests that it may offer antibacterial and anti-inflammatory benefits, which may help in treating rashes or irritation.

To make the mask fragrant and refreshing, you can include bergamot essential oil and ginger essential oil. If you can, purchase ginger essential oil that is free of CO2 because that will yield a proper, gingery smell. You can choose a different essential oil blend, but this combination may help brighten skin.

Homemade Clay Mask

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons white kaolin clay
  • 1 tablespoon rhassoul clay
  • 1 teaspoon activated charcoal
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried calendula petals
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (SCI)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate
  • 15 drops sea buckthorn seed oil
  • 13 drops bergamot essential oil
  • 10 drops ginger essential oil

Instructions:

  • Put on your dust mask and add the clays, charcoal, calendula petals, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (SCI), and Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate to a coffee or spice grinder.
  • Blend the mixture with the lid on for about three minutes.
  • Once you finish blending, keep the lid on and allow the dust to settle. Remove the top and scrape all of the powder into the grinder.
  • Drop the different oils into the grinder, place the top on, and blend for another 30 seconds. Make sure to wait three minutes once you finish blending.
  • Spoon the mixture into a glass jar and store it in a cool, dry place.
  • To use, spoon about half a teaspoon of the powder into your palm and combine it with a little warm water.
  • Work it gently between your hands before massaging it into your face. Leave it on for five minutes and then rinse with warm water.
  • Pat your face dry and apply the moisturizer of your choosing.

What if you could relieve stress, soothe sore muscles, and improve the overall health of your skin at the same time? Well, you can if you soak in the relaxing bath salt mixture that’s in this article. Unlike your typical bath salt mixture, this recipe contains black salt, which comes from the salt mines in the Himalayas. It can also come from areas where salt mixes with lava rock, for example, in the Hawaiian Islands.

Historical Use Of Black Salt

According to historians, black salt has been used in Ayurvedic practices for centuries. It’s a common healing ingredient because of the inherent medicinal properties. Anecdotal reports claim that it can help improve digestion, reduce muscle cramps, relieve heartburn, and eliminate toxins from the skin. Many scientists believe that the rich essential mineral content is responsible for these benefits. More scientific research is necessary to solidify these claims.

Types Of Black Salt

Black Lava Salt

Commonly known as Hawaiian black salt, black lava salt has an earthy flavor and comes from the Hawaiian Islands. It’s not a common seasoning in dishes; rather, it works better as a finishing salt. It has a smoky aroma and offers robust flavor.

Himalayan Black Salt

This salt is more common in cooking, especially in Indian cuisine. Known as Indian black salt, Himalayan black salt has a powerful smell that is reminiscent of sulfur. The smoky, savory flavor works well in rich stews or sauces, and the mineral content offers a wide range of medicinal benefits.

Black Ritual Salt

Sometimes this salt is known as witches salt, but it won’t cast a spell on you. Well, it may enchant you with its benefits, provided you believe in the supernatural. This salt is not meant for ingestion, so please do not eat it. Some people sprinkle this salt under the bed or around the yard to ward off bad energy or evil spirits.

Black Salt And Your Bath

Adding black salt to your bath offers numerous benefits for the skin. Once you mix it in with the bathwater, soak in it and gently rub your skin. This can help exfoliate and unclog your pores, whereby the minerals from the salt enter your pores to clean and nourish them. If you suffer from dry skin or cracked heels, black salt offers relief from the itching sensation. Many of the minerals have anti-inflammatory properties, which help to rejuvenate the skin. Lastly, the mineral content works to strengthen the hair and scalp, so don’t be afraid to sink your head back into the bath.

DIY Black Salt Bath Salt Mixture

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Hawaiian black lava salt
  • 1/4 cup magnesium flakes
  • 1 tsp PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate
  • 20 drops balsam fir essential oil
  • 12 drops chamomile essential oil
  • 8 drops lavender essential oil
  • 1/4 tsp gold mica
  • 1/3 cup dried marigold
  • 1/4 cup dried jasmine buds

Instructions:

  • Add the Hawaiian black salt to a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, mix the magnesium flakes and mica powder.
  • In another small bowl, combine the Glyceryl Cocoate and the essential oils. Stir to combine.
  • Pour the magnesium flake mixture and the essential oil mixture to the large bowl with the black salt. Finally, add in the dried marigold and jasmine buds and give the mixture a good stir to combine.
  • Transfer the bath salt mixture into a large glass jar and store in a cool, dry place.
  • When ready to use, add 1/3 – 1/2 cup of the bath salts to a warm bath and stir to dissolve. Soak in the tub for 15-20 minutes.

The DIY toothpaste game is tricky to understand. Making toothpaste involves more commitment than the average do-it-yourselfer is willing to put out. That’s perfectly fine! Avoid the struggle and whip up a batch of homemade tooth powder that will help improve gum health and naturally whiten your teeth.

People want their teeth to shine bright, but you have to use the right ingredients for that to happen. For the recipe in this article, we turn to ingredients with therapeutic benefits, as opposed to the chemical ingredients in commercial toothpastes. The only thing to keep in mind about this natural tooth powder is that you should not use it every single day, especially if you have sensitive teeth or gums. The ingredients can be abrasive and rough for some people.

Activated Charcoal

As many of you know, charcoal works to remove toxins from the body. The body doesn’t digest it; rather, it passes through the gastrointestinal tract, binding to toxins so they get eliminated via bowel movements. When it comes to oral care, charcoal helps to change the pH balance in your mouth. Several studies found it to be effective at preventing cavities and improving the oral health of people with tooth decay and gingivitis. The slightly abrasive texture scrubs away stains and works to naturally whiten your teeth.

Bentonite Clay

Similar to activated charcoal, the negatively charged bentonite clay molecules work to remove toxins, bacteria, and other impurities from the body. It also contains minerals that work to remineralize tooth enamel. Bacteria can attack the surface of your teeth and break down enamel. Well, bentonite clay helps to rebuild this enamel, preventing tooth decay. It also works to neutralize excess acid in the mouth, raising the pH of your mouth so that bacteria have a harder time surviving.

Baking Soda

If you have stains from years of coffee drinking, it’s time to call on baking soda to come save the day. Baking soda is both alkaline and salty, making it great for acid-based food stains. Any coffee, red wine, soda, or tea stain does not stand a chance against baking soda. One thing to keep in mind about baking soda is that it is abrasive and should not be used on your teeth daily for that reason.

Homemade Tooth Powder

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons bentonite clay
  • 1 tablespoon activated charcoal
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon xylitol
  • 10-15 drops peppermint essential oil

Instructions:

  • Add all the ingredients to a medium-sized mixing bowl and whisk to combine. Alternatively, you can add the ingredients to a food processor to get a perfectly even blend.
  • Transfer the powder to an airtight container and store in a cool, dry place.
  • When you are ready to use this powder, whet your toothpaste and dip it into the powder. Brush for two minutes and then rinse well.

There are many reasons to make your own face mask for optimal skin health. The most important one is that it will be free of chemical additives and harmful ingredients that irritate the skin. The last thing you want is to put more chemicals on the skin, especially after using chemical-rich skin care, hair care, and makeup products.

As many of you know, diet can influence your overall health. Unhealthy foods impair digestion, immune function, sleep, and circulation. While foods influence the health of your skin, so do skin care products. The skin can easily become congested and unhealthy when you use products that contain harmful ingredients. The good news is that you can easily decongest your skin and cleanse it of impurities with a simple DIY detox face mask.

What Does A Detox Face Mask Do?

The better question is, “What doesn’t this detox face mask do?” This face mask contains essential oils and a carrier oil, which benefit the skin in numerous ways, but the key ingredients are activated charcoal and Kaolin clay. These two ingredients help to shrink large pores, clear up blackheads, get rid of blemishes, and revive overall skin tone. Their benefits on skin health are described in more detail below.

Activated Charcoal For Skin

It’s not the most glamorous product to put on the skin, but it surely has some amazing benefits. The skin is constantly exposed to environmental and airborne toxins that clog pores. Activated charcoal helps to improve complexion by cleansing your pores. It does this by binding to dirt and pulling it out of the pores, making them less visible. Activated charcoal also has exfoliating properties that absorb oils and toxins on the skin, helping to reduce acne and excess oils on the skin.

Kaolin Clay For Skin

Kaolin clay is referred to as white clay or China clay, and it is almost entirely comprised of the kaolinite mineral. This clay is a gentle cleanser, making it suitable for all skin types. It works to absorb excess oils and extract impurities without causing redness or inflammation. People who experience regular outbreaks or acne benefit from using this clay. The long-term use of Kaolin clay results in toned and tightened skin with reduced wrinkles and fine lines.

DIY Detox Face Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon Kaolin clay
  • ½ teaspoon activated charcoal
  • ½ teaspoon filtered water
  • 2 drops lavender essential oil
  • 1 drop tea tree oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon jojoba oil

Instructions:

  • In a small bowl, combine the Kaolin clay and activated charcoal. Whisk these ingredients together and then pour in the filtered water. Combine into a paste.
  • Mix in the lavender and tea tree essential oils, along with the jojoba oil. Keep mixing and the mask will begin to form.

How To Use:

  • Apply a thin layer of this mask on your face using clean hands or a mask spatula. Be mindful to avoid the eye area.
  • Leave the mask on your face for five to ten minutes, or until the mask begins to dry. If you have oily skin, you can extend this time because the mask will take longer to absorb the excess oils.
  • Rinse the mask off your face with cool water and a clean wash cloth.

Many people have turned to home remedies to naturally make their teeth whiter, brighter, and shinier. Through trial and error, you eventually find a few ingredients that work better than others. We don’t want you to experiment with everything under the sun, and that’s why we’ve done the legwork to provide you with a two-ingredient toothpaste that naturally whitens teeth.

According to a 2015 statistic, American adults spent over $11 billion on teeth whitening and over $1.4 billion on at-home whitening products. You don’t need to dump a huge portion of your savings on teeth whitening solutions or procedures if you use the right ingredients. Plus, many procedures and chemical whitening products bleach your teeth, which is of great concern to many people. You don’t want that, do you?

Why Do Teeth Start Yellowing?

Well, there isn’t a clear-cut answer to this because there are many contributing factors that make teeth lose their sparkle. Sometimes, teeth appear yellow because enamel begins to erode and reveal the dentin, a naturally yellow bony tissue underneath the enamel. Certain foods also contribute to the yellowing of teeth. Coffee, black tea, red wine, soda, chewing tobacco, and other foods can cause tooth discoloration, staining the enamel and leading to potential plaque build-up.

Coconut Oil For Healthy Teeth

Coconut oil is almost entirely comprised of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), which are more easily metabolized than long-chain fatty acids, which are found in most other foods. Roughly 50% of coconut oil is made up of lauric acid, a medium-chain fatty acid that has been known to attack harmful bacteria in the mouth. In one study, people who started oil pulling with coconut oil helped to decrease plaque build-up and early signs of gingivitis. There was noticeable improvement seven days into the study, and there was a 68% decrease in plaque at the end of the 30-day study.

Baking Soda For Whiter Teeth

You can use baking soda a few different ways to help naturally whiten your teeth. Baking soda is considered a base, so it is often mixed with a more acidic component, such as lemon juice, vinegar, or sea salt. Acids, however, can eat away at the calcium in the teeth or irritate gums. Mixing baking soda with water or coconut oil helps create an alkaline environment in the mouth. Because baking soda is slightly abrasive, it helps to scrub away stains on the teeth, but it should not replace your regular brushing and flossing routine.

DIY Teeth Whitening Toothpaste

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon virgin unrefined coconut oil
  • small container

Ingredients:

  • Combine the baking soda and coconut oil in a small mixing bowl and stir until it forms a paste.
  • Spoon this paste into a small airtight container to keep it fresh.
  • Apply a small amount to your toothbrush when ready to use and brush for two minutes. Rinse and floss to ensure your teeth are squeaky clean.
  • You can use this 3-4 times per week.

Taking part in the Full Body Cleanse is no easy feat, but it is far from impossible. While taking all of the capsules is a new challenge for most people, the biggest obstacle to overcome is the raw foods diet. Solely consuming raw fruits, vegetables, and raw nuts and seeds is drastically different than eating foods that the average American eats. The whole purpose of cleansing and the accompanying diet, though, is to give the body a break from the toxic foods that have become commonplace in Standard American Diet, and provide the body with as many fresh, nutrient-dense foods as possible.

Succeeding on the cleanse is about more than overcoming the diet. Adhering to the diet plays a large role in how successful your cleanse will be, but the success of your cleanse also weighs heavy on your outlook. A negative attitude or doubting the cleanse regimen itself tends to result in cheating with unhealthy foods or abandonment of the cleanse altogether. You made the choice to become healthier. Don’t throw that away because it was a little difficult. Anything worth achieving never comes easy, and a healthier body is no different.

To help you on the cleanse journey, we have detailed tips that can help you soar through the cleanse. Many of the tips are diet-related because that is the area in which most people struggle. Follow the tips below to have the most successful cleanse ever; or at least we hope you will.

#1: Always Have Snacks At The Ready

Before you begin your cleanse, it is integral to find raw snacks that appeal to your taste buds. We’ll give you a pro tip and say that raw almond butter on celery sticks or apple slices will fill you up and hit the salty and sweet notes you want from a snack. Some health food stores carry raw snacks, but you will benefit most from preparing your own snacks. Click here for some great snack ideas.

#2: Never Let Your Fridge Become Empty

When you deplete your supply of raw foods, the desire to cheat increases exponentially because it is much easier to grab a sandwich from a fast food eatery than it is to seek out a raw restaurant or go grocery shopping. If you see that your fridge nearing the empty line, it’s time to make a grocery run.

#3: It’s Normal To Experience Fatigue

Fatigue is one of the most common symptoms of cleansing, especially in the first few days. The body is working hard to remove waste and you have most likely decreased your caloric intake by at least 1,000 or more calories. Eat superfoods like almonds, avocados, spinach, kale, blueberries, ginger, pomegranates, and apples to help increase energy levels.

#4: Don’t Eat The Same Salad Every Day

If you eat the same meal, no matter what it is, for breakfast, lunch, or dinner every day, you are going to get bored with eating that meal. Since salads are a big part of cleansing, make sure to vary the ingredients and the dressings. Use romaine lettuce as a base one day and mixed greens the next. Add strawberries and blueberries to a spinach salad and cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and carrots to a butter lettuce salad. Don’t let repetition derail your cleanse, especially when we have so many recipes for you! Click here for our cleanse-approved recipe section.

#5: Prep For Success On The Weekend

Some people have Saturday and Sunday off, while others are free on Tuesday and Wednesday. Use your “weekend” to grocery shop for the upcoming week and consider prepping salads, smoothie bags, dressings, snacks, or chia pudding so that you have easily accessible meals at the ready. Don’t say that it’s complicated because there is no cooking involved!

#6: Diversify Your Beverages

We can’t sugarcoat the fact that you will drink more water than you usually do while cleansing. You don’t have to solely consume water, though. You can drink caffeine-free herbal teas (iced or hot), detox waters (put fresh fruit in alkaline water), or homemade lemonade by mixing fresh lemon juice, stevia, and alkaline water together.

#7: Eat Entree-Size Salads

If you think that a side salad will fill you up for lunch, you are dead wrong. Because of the low calorie content of salad, you need to prepare a big bowl of salad with a variety of ingredients. Avocados, raw walnuts, sprouts, cucumbers, tomatoes, celery, carrots, pomegranates, kale, and cashews all work to fill you up, so include them in your giant salad.

#8: You Can Have Protein Powder…If It’s Plant-Based And You’re Working Out

First off, you can have raw, plant-based protein powders while cleansing. Sun Warrior and Garden of Life have excellent raw protein powders. DON’T GET WHEY PROTEIN! That being said, only get protein powder if you plan to exercise while cleansing. When you consume protein powder more than once a day and don’t exercise, it can make it more difficult to lose weight. Protein powder can often lead to fat storage when consumed in excess.

#9: Maintain A Positive Attitude

It’s no secret that having a poor attitude and doubting yourself during your cleanse will make it increasingly more difficult to complete. A positive outlook can not only make the cleanse more enjoyable, but it can also help to keep stress levels down and hormones balanced. Keep a journal to write down your thoughts and feelings, meditate with positive affirmations, or read positive material to keep negative thoughts at bay.

#10: Drink The Damn Charcoal

Unless you are taking medication, you should be drinking the charcoal every day of the cleanse before bed. It looks ominous because it turns the water black, but it is flavorless. It doesn’t dissolve in the water, so keep stirring while you drink. Some people find that drinking it through a straw is much easier than gulping it down.

#11: Go Non-Toxic

Consider swapping your cosmetic and cleaning products for non-toxic varieties. While it is possible to make your own all-natural products, many companies have started selling healthy products that are free of harmful chemicals. Remember that the chemicals in your body aren’t solely from unhealthy foods. Toxins can be absorbed via the skin or inhalation, so try to go non-toxic when possible.

#12: Spices Are Your Friends

Do not be timid about seasoning your food because you need those vibrant spices to create powerful flavors. Spices also aid the detoxification process because they possess powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and anti-fungal properties. This means that in addition to making your food taste great, they help to reduce inflammation, improve gut health, and support healthy circulation. You’ll also find that seasoning your food with bold spices decreases the need for salt, which is often a huge contributor to high blood pressure.
