A lot of people are on the juicing train, focusing on celery and beet juices. While these juices are beneficial in moderation, they don’t provide the same fiber and satiety that smoothies do. Plus, you have to use a lot more produce to make juices than you do to make smoothies. So not only do smoothies require less ingredients, but they are also more filling. You can always enjoy a juice here and there, but we endorse smoothies more than juices, in case you were wondering.
This spinach, avocado, and apple smoothie is very easy to make and provides the body with healthy fats, protein, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. You need iron, potassium, and omega-3 fatty acids? This smoothie has those nutrients. You need fiber, magnesium, and vitamin C? You found your go-to smoothie with this recipe! Don’t worry about the avocado in the smoothie because it doesn’t impart any flavor. The sweetness of the banana and apple take center stage, distracting your taste buds from the spinach and avocado. Surprisingly, you don’t taste the spinach, which is why it’s the best green to include in smoothies, especially if you’re new to green smoothies.
This recipe makes quite a generous serving or two, so you can freeze some of it to enjoy the following day, share it with someone, or enjoy all of it yourself. Enjoying the entire smoothie by yourself is encouraged if you are cleansing, as you’ll need the sustenance. It is very flavorful without being calorically dense. Sip to your health!
