Kiwi is a magnificent fruit that has a flavor and texture unlike any other fruit. It comes in both green and golden varieties, with the golden ones offering a sweeter flavor profile. Green kiwis are sweet, but if you eat them while they are firmer, they exhibit a slight tartness that is quite lovely. The combination of the sweet and tart flavors pair beautifully with the other ingredients in this smoothie.
When you add kiwi to a smoothie, make sure that you choose one that is somewhat firm but also soft. A really hard kiwi will make the smoothie taste sour or bitter, and you don’t want that. This smoothie is meant to be a tropical creation that supplies the body with an assortment of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Speaking of nutrients, this smoothie is no slouch in that department. Kiwi is an excellent source of vitamin C and other antioxidants, and the spinach contains iron, folate, magnesium, protein, fiber, and more. Plus, the mango offers potassium, vitamins A & C, protein, fiber, and vitamin B6.
This smoothie contains ingredients with natural sugars, so the raw agave nectar is optional. We suggest trying the smoothie before adding it because the banana, mango, and kiwi should provide sufficient sweetness. In fact, their flavors are strong enough to mask the flavor of spinach. In regards to spinach, you can always freeze it in freezer bags if you see that your spinach is starting to wilt. This is a great way to avoid food waste. Throw your spinach in the freezer to prevent it from going bag. You can even prepare smoothie bags with spinach and other ingredients!
