If you’ve been following our recipes for a while, you know how much we love a tasty tahini dressing or sauce. Tahini is a nutty ingredient that you can enjoy during your cleanse, so long as the sesame seeds are not roasted. Tahini makes for a great base for any sauce or dressing, and it also provides a nutty flavor.
You need to spice up tahini, though, as it can be pasty and slightly boring on its own. This sauce has a little kick from the chili powder and beautiful, fresh acidity from the lime juice. Plus, you can always take the spice level up a notch by adding a dash or two of cayenne. That is completely up to you and your ability to handle spice, though. The paprika helps to round out the flavor, contributing a somewhat smoky flavor to this sauce.
The great thing about this recipe is that you can enjoy it as a sauce, dip, or dressing. Drizzling this over your salad will give it a southwest vibe. Just remember that you cannot include corn, beans, or tortilla strips in your salad if you are cleansing. If you want to enjoy so after cleansing, please do so, but just keep your sodium intake in mind in regards to those foods. Lastly, enjoy this as a dip for raw veggies or pour it over some raw tacos to give them a creamy, spicy flare.
