The Easiest Hack To Cut A Mango…It’s Life Changing

Mangos are absolutely delicious and they are incredibly versatile. You can eat them raw, blend them into smoothies, make them in desserts, turn them into a sorbet, puree them for curries, or add them in salads, dressings, and salsas. But how do you cut them? This always seems like a trivial task! Before we get into how to easily cut a mango, here are a few reasons why you need to eat them.

Vitamin C Boost

One cup of raw mango can give you 76% of your daily vitamin C requirement. Vitamin C can help nourish your cells and keep your skin looking healthy. The vitamin C content aids in naturally lowering bad cholesterol levels. It also helps to fight free radicals in the body!

Alkaline Alert

A neutral pH balance in the body can benefit your overall health. Having an alkaline body can also help inhibit cancer growth. Mangos contain tartaric, malic, and citric acid, all of which help maintain the body’s alkali reserves.

Digestion Helper

Having a healthy digestive system is one of the key components to being a healthy person. Mangos contain helpful enzymes that break down protein in the digestive system. The fiber content in mangos also helps to keep bowel movements regular.

Great For Those With Diabetes

While there is a traditional remedy of boiling mango leaves in water and consuming it, the mango fruit itself has a low glycemic index. Mangos may help normalize insulin levels in the blood, so consuming them conservatively may help regulate blood sugar levels.

Combats Heat Stroke

It has been said that juicing the fruit of a green mango and mixing it with water and a little agave can help cool the body down. Heat exhaustion is one of the top reasons people feel nauseous or ill in hotter climates. The kidneys have to work extra hard, so drink this juice to stay cool and hydrated.

The Best Way To Cut A Mango

It seems that everyone has a favorite way to cut a mango, but this way is probably the easiest. All you have to do is stand it on end and cut the cheek that looks like it is the biggest. Cut downwards about a half-inch away from the center. Take the cut cheek and slice vertically and horizontally to make a grid of mango cubes. Do not cut all the way through the skin. Push out from the center and it should look like the photo below. Cut the cubes off and repeat to other sides of the mango.

If you have a mango splitter, you can buy that and press down like an apple slicer to remove the pit. Then you can use the above technique to enjoy the mango.
