HIV / AIDS is a disease of the human immune system caused by a virus. It is an incredibly devastating disease, both because of its physical manifestations and the lingering social stigma. HIV / AIDS (human immunodeficiency virus infection / acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) is a relatively recent disease that has had an explosive impact on the global community.

The disease was first recognized in 1981, and since then has spread with incredible rapidity throughout the world. According to one health report, approximately 34 million people had HIV in 2010. Of those, approximately 16.8 are women and 3.4 million are younger than fifteen. Since 1981, AIDS has led to nearly 30 million deaths.

Causes and Risk Factors

HIV is transmitted via certain bodily fluids. It is most commonly transmitted via unprotected sex (including oral and anal sex). It can also be transferred from hypodermic needles, contaminated blood transfusions, and from mother to child during pregnancy. Certain bodily fluids such as saliva and tears do not transmit HIV.

Symptoms

There are a few different stages to the disease: acute infection, clinical latency, and then AIDS.

Acute Infection

The period immediately following the contraction is called acute infection. This period tends to last one to two weeks, but varies per individual. Because these symptoms are similar to more common infectious diseases, HIV is frequently misdiagnosed during this time. Symptoms during this period include:

  • Influenza-like illness
  • Fever
  • Large tender lymph nodes
  • Throat inflammation
  • Rash
  • Nausea

Clinical Latency

Without treatment, this period can last anywhere from three years to more than twenty, with an average of about eight years. Generally there are few symptoms at the beginning of the period, but at the end people develop symptoms such as:

  • Weight loss
  • Fever
  • Muscle pains
  • Gastrointestinal problems

AIDS

AIDS develops when the CD4+T helper lymphocyte cell numbers drops below 200 cells per uL. At this point, the immune system is so weak that many other diseases such as various cancers (Kaposi’s sarcoma, lymphoma) and pneumonia.

HIV causes AIDS by depleting the CD4+ cell count. T lymphocytes are crucial for the immune system. Without them, the body cannot effectively fight off diseases, which is why there is such a high occurrence of other sicknesses during AIDS.

Treatment

Doctors believe there is no medical cure for Aids and HIV. Dherbs believes the body can heal itself, given the opportunity.

Doctors frequently prescribe “cocktails” or combinations of multiple antiviral drugs to combat the specific symptoms. Unfortunately many of these medications also bring debilitating side effects.

The guessing game

There are so many rules out there about how women should conduct communication with men they are dating or in a relationship with. Some experts say a woman should never text or call. Others say occasionally is fine. But what happens when he just stops communicating? Well from my perspective I think you have to assess how you feel and get clear on your intentions and then decide what you would like to happen next.

I know because I been there

This happened to me after Anthony and I had our second date. Our first date was more like a booty call than a date, because we met at a club and then we went home together. I know…I’m a rule breaker! That night together was so good that he called me the next day and asked me out to dinner the following weekend. We talked on the phone almost every night up until the date.

My dream date

The date was amazing! We went to dinner at Thai spot I had never been to and then we spent the night together again. We had really connected and because of the nightly calls we had shared so much about ourselves that it felt like we had known each other for years. So when he stopped calling it really confused me. My ego thought “why doesn’t he want me?”

Then I followed this line of thinking to get me the result I really wanted, which was to see him again and get a chance to see if we could build a relationship.

• Be honest with yourself about how you feel about the guy.
• Be honest about what kind of relationship it is right now.
• Be honest about what kind of relationship you want it to be in the future.
• Be hopeful about the outcome, but remain detached.
• Be okay with him taking some time to think about his feelings.
• Be yourself and do what feels right for you.
• Be honest, opened minded, and compassionate if you do decide to call.

Honesty is the best policy

I did end up calling Anthony. I knew we were just having fun and I did not expect him to be my boyfriend. I did however want a chance to see if we could have more. I wasn’t sure where he was coming from and I wanted to know what changed for him. I wanted to understand what he wanted and needed, so I decided to ask him. I am so very glad I did. It has been the basic foundation of our entire relationship to be honest and upfront about our feelings. When he told me he was afraid to fall in love I told him I was too, so we could take our time and if either of was ever not feeling it we would be honest about that and not just disappear.

Words of wisdom for you ladies

Men need security in a relationship as much as women do, but the security they need is different than ours. See Anthony’s Blog “Why men are afraid of Love” To see the list. Anthony loves me on a level that I never knew existed. I am thrilled I put my ego and pride aside to show him how much I wanted to be with him then… and in the future. Everyone has their own story and you have to base your decision to pursue love the way that feels best for you. If you want it you have to break the rules sometimes. Don’t let those traditional male/ female roles keep you from connecting with the love of your life!

Cancer is defined by the National Cancer Institute as a disease “in which abnormal cells divide without control and are able to invade other tissues. Cancer cells can spread to other parts of the body through the blood and lymph systems.”

There are actually more than 100 different types of cancer, which are usually named for the organ or cell-type where the disease starts. That said, cancer is organized into these categories:

  • Carcinoma – cancer that starts in the skin
  • Sarcoma – cancer that starts in the bone or musculo-skeletal system
  • Leukemia – cancer that starts in blood-forming tissue such as bone marrow
  • Lymphoma or myeloma – cancer that starts in the lymph system or immune system
  • Central nervous system – cancer that starts in the brain, spinal column or nervous system

Tumors exist in two states: benign and malignant. Benign means “not fatal or pernicious.” Malignant means “highly injurious, pernicious or fatal.”

More than 1.6 million people are diagnosed with some type of cancer each year. Of those, more than 577,000 will die.

Causes and Risk Factors

No one really knows why some people get cancer and others don’t, so discussion is generally more focused on risk factors. Known risk factors are:

  • Age
  • Tobacco use
  • Alcohol use
  • Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from sunlight
  • Exposure to chemicals and other toxins
  • Exposure to ionizing radiation (such as radioactive fallout, xrays, radon gas, etc.)
  • Some viruses and bacteria such as Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Epstein-Barr, Human papilloma virus (HPV), Human immunodeficiency disorder (HIV)
  • Artificial hormone use such as medication containing estrogen and progestin (most commonly used to alleviate symptoms of menopause)
  • Family history and genetics
  • Poor diet
  • Lack of physical exercise
  • Being overweight

Symptoms

Cancer patients/suffers begin to get thin and this is caused by an internal “eating up” process where certain cells start attacking other cells. While an “eating up” is taking place in the body, a neoplasm characterized by the uncontrolled growth of anaplastic cells invade surrounding tissue, which metastasizes.

There are no specific symptoms with cancer. However, there are signs that may mean immediate attention is needed, including:

  • Lumps
  • Skin abrasians or discoloration
  • Persistent cough
  • Change in bowel movements or urination
  • Blood in the stool or urine
  • Unexplained anemia
  • Hoarseness
  • Swollen glands
  • Changes to warts or moles
  • Persistent nausea, indigestion or trouble swallowing or eating
  • Unexpected weight loss
  • Persistent fever
  • Non-healing sores
  • Persistent headache, muscle ache or bone ache

The Dangers of Chemotherapy and Radiation

Western medicine’s approach to treating cancer is the cut, slash and burn technique that usually involves surgery combined with radiation or chemotherapy treatment.

Chemotherapy is chemical therapy designed to kill the cancer cells. The challenge is that the immune system doesn’t always distinguish the difference between the cancer cells and healthy cells, making chemotherapy a physically difficult treatment. Side effects can be severe, including vomiting, hair loss and other issues.

Radiation is based upon the toxic element “radium oxide“, a serious poison to the human body. Radiation treatment leads to radium neuritis and myalgia. Radiation is used under the illogical premise of killing the cancerous cells in the body, but how are you going to kill the cancerous cells of the body without harming and killing the good/beneficial cells of the body?

In the East, the doctors don’t tell the patient that they have a fatal disease and only have a certain amount of time to live. However, they do tell family members.

Healing Options

In healing cancer, first and foremost, you need a strong and positive mindset and strong will to live.

OXYGEN/OZONE Therapy

These therapies are big in Europe where they are also legal unlike here in the United States. If you have an oxygen machine or ozonator and a body bag/suit, oxygenate or ozonate yourself twice daily (45-60 minutes). The oxygen or ozone will penetrate your skin and saturate your blood killing cancer cells instantly. You can also take oxygen/ozone baths daily. In these baths, you leave the machine going while in the tub. An oxygen/ozone bath should be anywhere from 1-2 hours. You can enhance this bath by adding a few pounds of sea salt (to alkalize the water) and MSM sulfur. Every glass of water should be oxygenated or ozonated in addition to being alkaline. If you don’t have an oxygen or ozone machine, you may add oxygen drops (20-30 drops per glass) or 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide (1/8 of an ounce) to your water. You can also add these to your bath water if you don’t have an oxygen or ozone machine. Oxygenated oil (Oz-Oil) can be used to rub the entire body down with so as to help oxygenate the body.

MAGNETS

Magnets may help to shrink tumors. Magnet strength sizes 4,600 gauss to 14,000 gauss are ideal. The higher the better! Never sleep with magnets above your eyes (preventing brain ionization). The magnets should be applied to the tumor and left on.

CRYSTAL THERAPY

Crystals work on the energy level where cancer begins. Crystals can cause cancer frequencies to change and thus rapidly begin the core healing aspect.

COLON CLEANSING

Colonics and enemas are essential in healing from cancer, especially colon and rectal cancers. Colon-cleansing herbs include Cascara Sagrada, Senna, Buckthorn, Aloe Vera resin, Rhubarb, Bilwa, Bibitaki, Jalap Root, and Glucommanan to name a few. Bentonite clay (liquid form) helps to remove heavy metal toxins from the colon as well as mucoidal plaque. Drinking Aloe Vera juice is very soothing and healing to the colon. Aloe Vera juice is very alkalizing.

Dietary Intervention

A healthy diet is crucial in preventing cancer. This means eating plenty of foods that are high in fiber, vitamins and minerals. This includes whole-grain breads and cereals and 5 to 9 servings of fruits and vegetables every day. Also, a healthy diet means limiting foods high in fat (such as butter, whole milk, fried foods, and red meat).

The best foods to eat to eradicate cancer are green colored foods – kale, parsley, spinach, greens, cabbage, broccoli, etc. Greens foods are great alkaline foods saturated with nutrients. Green drinks or veggie cocktails drank daily are exceptional.

VEGETABLES

Just about all vegetables should and can be eaten. Green vegetables and vegetables with color are best! Vegetables loaded with enzymes, minerals, and other valuable nutrients. Do not cook the vegetables.

FRUITS

Melons are the best fruits to eat in healing from cancer followed by various berries, especially those with antioxidant properties (blueberries, Goji, lycii, elderberry, etc.). Citrus fruits, in spite of their natural acids, are very alkaline.

HERBS

You will want to use blood cleansing herbs such as Echinacea (purpurea, pallida or angustifolia), Goldenseal root, Chickweed, Manjistha, Yellow Dock, Cerasee, Burdock Root and Dandelion Root. Blood cleansing herbs will also cleanse the lymphatic fluid too. You will also want to use tissue rebuilding and repairing herbs too, such as Comfrey Root, Burdock Root, Sarsaparilla and Chaparral.

Immune boosting herbs are also ideal in healing from cancer. These herbs include Suma, Ginseng, Astragalus, Echinacea, Goldenseal, Pau D’Arco (LaPacho), Cat’s Claw, Yew Tips and Codonopsis to name a few. These herbs stimulate the body’s natural anti-cancer defenses. They increase the activity of natural killer cells, which recognize and destroy cancer cells at first sight and improve the efficacy of interferon.

SEAWEEDS

Seaweeds are very oxygenating, alkalizing and nutritious. The best seaweeds to consume are Super Blue Green algae, Chlorella, Spirulina, Dulse, Irish Moss and Kelp. Seaweeds will eradicate the damaging effects of radiation from radiation treatment.

MUSHROOMS

You will want to use the healing and therapeutic mushrooms Reishi, Maitake and Shitake. Maitake is the most potent of the healing mushrooms. These mushrooms should be taken in extract form. These mushrooms greatly help to dissolve tumor growth.

WATER

Hydrotherapy can be used in the healing regimen for cancer. The best water to drink for healing purposes is alkaline water followed by distilled water.

VITAMIN B-17 (Laetrile)

Leatrile/Vitamin B-17 is banned in the U.S. in drug form, but it is plentiful in Wheat Grass. Drink plenty of wheat grass to get as much Vitamin B-17 as you can.

]]>

A question that is often asked is “When will I see results after taking certain herbs and supplements?” There is no standard of time for healing from any pathology with the use of herbs. While the effects of the herbs in the formulas will not be seen immediately, the herbs are working from the start. Positive changes to the body take time. The damage did not occur overnight, so neither will natural healing.

What Affects Natural Healing Time

Radical changes, both in lifestyle and internally can affect the time it takes to heal naturally. The more changes that are made, the faster the process will happen.

Some things to consider changing in and around you include:

Consider changing your diet. This is the best way to promote health. The food we eat plays a large role in the health of our bodies. Feed your body the proper nutrition and you will see the benefits.

Changing the thought process has an impact on health as well. Positive thinking is an effective way to create health. Do not dwell on the negative things around you or health conditions you wish to change. Instead, tell yourself positive affirmations and focus on the good things that surround you. Our minds are very powerful and can do wonders in changing our health.

Obvious lifestyle choices that affect our health include drug and alcohol use. These are never part of a healthy lifestyle and will only hinder changes in the body. If you are currently using drugs or alcohol, discontinue using right away. Toxifying the body with these substances will sabotage all other healthy decisions we make.

Exercise should be a part of everyday life. Simply walking can increase health and happiness. Exercise is a natural stress reliever and will help to move your body in a direction of health. Make exercise fun and not a chore. Do something you enjoy whether it is running on a treadmill or walking your dog in the local park. An active lifestyle can optimize health.

Learning to be Patient

When healing naturally, patience is a virtue. You will heal naturally in the necessary time frame it takes for you as an individual. Everyone is different. Don’t worry about how long it will take you to heal naturally. This will actually slow down the healing process. Worry and stress delay healing. Focus your attention on improving your life through lifestyle, dietary and thought-process change.

There is no specific amount of time it takes to alleviate conditions you may be suffering from. Every person and condition is unique. No one product or remedy can heal naturally alone. The key is a combination of such things as:

  • Healthy diet
  • Healthy lifestyle choices
  • Meditation
  • Affirmations
  • Exercise
  • Natural herbs and solutions

Create an overall healthy body and natural healing will happen much faster. Surround yourself with a healthy environment and make wise choices regarding your body. Choosing to become healthy will also help to reduce any future disease or conditions. Treat your body and mind with respect and admiration for what they do for your everyday.

Down syndrome is a condition caused by excess genetic material that can interfere with a child’s physical and mental development. It is thought to affect 1 in 800 babies born each year.

It is believed that Down’s syndrome is determined at the moment of conception. While it can’t be prevented, but it can be detected.

Causes and Risk Factors

At conception, a fetus acquires 23 chromosomes from the mother and 23 chromosomes from the father, for a total of 46 chromosomes. Down syndrome is marked by the acquisition of a 47th chromosome.

Types of Down’s syndrome are:

  • Trisomy 21-nine out of 10 babies with Down syndrome have this type of the condition. It is identified when a third copy of trisomy 21 is found in cells, instead of the normal two copies.
  • Mosaic Down Syndrome-this is a very rare type of the condition where only some cells have the extra copy of trisomy 21
  • Translocation Down syndrome-also an uncommon type of the condition, translocation down syndrome is indicated when part of chromosome 21 becomes attached (translocated) to another chromosome.

Risk factors include:

  • Women getting pregnant when older (35+ is generally the tipping point)
  • Family history or having another child with Down syndrome
  • Being a carrier of the genetic marker indicating a likelihood of Down syndrome.

Symptoms

Down syndrome is recognized by these symptoms:

  • Flattened facial features
  • Small head
  • Short neck
  • Slanting eyes
  • Abnormally shaped ears
  • Unusually short fingers
  • Excessive flexibility
  • Poor muscle tone
  • Single crease in the palm of the hand

Healing Options

It’s recommended to use a combination of therapies to assist children with Down syndrome. Early intervention helps the child cope with every day life, and eventual semi-independence.

Consider:

  • Physical therapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Speech therapy
  • Other therapies that help the child finds beneficial

Dietary Intervention

If you truly are concerned about Down syndrome, consume plenty of seaweeds such as:

Be sure to drink plenty of crystal water made with gemstones or crystals of Moss Agate, Lapis Lazuli, Herkimer Quartz, Clear Quartz, Lepidolite, Sugilite (Luvulite) and/or Zincite.

Diabetes (diabetes mellitus) is a condition of excessive blood sugar. It affects people of all ages.

There are three types of diabetes:

  • Type 1 diabetes
  • Type 2 diabetes, and
  • Gestational diabetes

Type 1 diabetes includes individuals dependent upon insulin to prevent ketosis (abnormal accumulation of ketones in the body as a result of a deficiency or inadequate utilization of carbohydrates). A keytone is an organic compound having the group -OH- linked to two hydrocarbon radicals. It is also known as the insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) subclass and was previously called juvenile-onset diabetes.

Type 2 diabetes deals with non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM).

Gestational diabetes is unique to pregnant women who experience high blood sugar but do not have a history of diabetes. Often gestational diabetes will subside after the baby is born.

Causes and Risk Factors

The pancreas secretes insulin into the bloodstream to regulate the level of sugar in the blood and also converts sugar into heat and energy.

Diabetes is caused the body’s inability to properly use insulin, a naturally occurring hormone secreted by the pancreas in response to blood glucose (sugar). It can be caused by too little insulin secreted into the blood stream, or a resistance to insulin.

Diabetes can be caused by:

  • Poor diet
  • Virus affecting the pancreas
  • Genetics

Symptoms

Symptoms of diabetes are:

  • Excessive thirst
  • Excessive urination
  • Blurry vision
  • Fatigue
  • Fever
  • Persistent hunger
  • Rapid weight loss

Natural Healing Options

There are natural healing options for people with diabetes.

Active lifestyle

Increased obesity rates have brought increased Type 2 diabetes diagnoses. To prevent Type 2 diabetes, get plenty of exercise-enough to maintain a healthy body weight.

Herbs

The best diabetic herb, which would also have to be the best pancreatic herb, is Devil’s Club. This unique herb is a pancreas tonic and blood sugar regulator.

The next best herb for diabetes would have to be Gymnema sylvestre. This Ayurvedic or Indian herb literally means destroyer of sugar and prevents sugar molecules in the colon from being absorbed into the bloodstream.

Karela or Moringa seed provides serious nutrition to the pancreas.

Atractylodis, though very foul in smell, is excellent for diabetes. It helps improve pancreas function.

Licorice root is a great glandular and hormonal herb and will help to normalize the blood sugar levels.

Fenugreek seed will greatly help to dissolve hardened mucus in the pancreas area.

Goldenseal root, Fringetree bark, and Elecampane are pivotal herbs for healing diabetes as they provide bio insulin, which is very important. In addition, they are very cleansing to the pancreas and other auxiliary organs (liver, spleen, appendix, etc.).

Guava leaf is a great pancreas tonic and blood sugar regulator.

Bilberry or Blueberry is so invaluable in the healing process of diabetes because it is the best herb available for ocular (eye) health and can improve eyesight.

Cinnamon, Ginger, and Cayenne are imperative for diabetes because these three herbs in tandem or unison are helpful for circulatory issues.

Juniper berries and Uva Ursi are diuretic herbs and promote passing of water or fluid (urination) and prevents the need for dialysis as they promote cleansing of the blood in the kidneys.

Stevia is great for diabetics as it can be consumed to normalize blood sugar levels and also to help eradicate the craving of sugar.

Cerasee promotes cleansing of the pancreas and blood and therefore excellent for healing diabetes.

Lycii (Wolf) berry is very revitalizing for the pancreas and stimulates the pancreas. It also revitalizes and invigorates the blood.

Dietary Intervention

Eating healthy is the best way to prevent Type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes diagnoses are skyrocketing largely due to the increased rates of obesity among adults, teens and even children.

It’s recommended that people with diabetes consume a special diet that’s rich in fruits and vegetables and completely sugar free. Many nutritionists suggest no more than1,600 calories a day (including no more than 220g of carbs a day).

Green beans (aka string beans) are helpful to diabetics. They provide natural insulin and have healing constituents for the pancreas. Green (string) bean juice (2-4 ounces) daily will greatly help to speed up healing of diabetes. Brussels sprouts rank next to green beans for healing of diabetes. Blend string bean juice and Brussels sprouts together in a vegetable cocktail and drank daily or every other day.

The thyroid gland is a member of the glandular or endocrine system. The English medical term derives from the Greek words: thyreos meaning shield, and eidos meaning form. It’s located at the front of the neck. It is slightly heavier in women than in men and enlarges in pregnancy.

The thyroid gland secretes the hormone thyroxin directly into the bloodstream. Thyroxin is also known as thyroid hormone. Thyroxin is an iodine-containing compound. In fact, the thyroid gland itself is chiefly comprised of the mineral iodine and therefore is vital and necessary for optimal thyroid health and functioning.

The function of the thyroid gland includes: regulation of normal body growth in infancy and childhood, regulation of metabolism, regulation of body temperature, maintenance of skeletal maturation; and regulation of protein, fat and carbohydrates. These functions supra are dependent upon thyroxin or thyroid hormone.

Thyroid Problems

The thyroid gland in most Americans is sluggish if not outright inactive. Inactive or underactive thyroid gland plays a major role in obesity, because the thyroid gland helps regulate metabolism, which is dependent upon the burning of fat converted from sugar.

Pathologies of the thyroid gland include:

  • Hypothyroidism
  • Goiter
  • thyroid cancer
  • thyroiditis

Lack of iodine plays a major role in the development of these diseases or pathologies.

Healing Thyroid Naturally

The thyroid gland responds to blue and violet colors.

Blue colored stones include: blue lace agate, angelite, chrysocola, celestite, azurite, and lapis lazuli. These stones can be placed directly on the thyroid gland for a few minutes to help correct any imbalance at this chakra.

It’s interesting that the thyroid gland responds to violet, since the chief mineral for the thyroid gland is iodine, which term is derived from the Greek word ioeides meaning violet. Iodine is a bluish-black solid that becomes a violet vapor when heated. Hence, the thyroid gland responds to blue and violet.

Goiter is simply the result of a severe iodine deficiency and can be reversed with adequate amounts of iodine in the daily diet.

Great and natural sources of iodine include:

Seaweed is the greatest and best food for humans as it supplies us with every nutrient we need for optimal health-including iodine. Iodine is essential for anyone attempting to lose weight (fat), naturally.

Iodized salt is not an acceptable source of iodine. While iodized salt may have curbed the incidence of cretinism in the United States, it greatly played a role in the development of high blood pressure in this country.

Instead of using iodized salt under the banner of sodium chloride (white table salt), it’s much better (and safer) to use sea salt (available at health food stores).

Magnets can greatly help in thyroid problems by stimulating the thyroid gland. Simply put a magnet on the thyroid gland for a few hours and the thyroid will revive. This technique alone will reverse thyroiditis (inflammation of the thyroid gland).

If you are pregnant, it is vitally essential that you obtain adequate amounts of iodine.

Toxins are first attacked by the liver. The liver does a great job of fighting toxicity until it gets overwhelmed and allows less toxic substances to slip through into the body via the blood while it fights the most deadly toxins.

Hepatitis is swelling of the liver. Hepatitis is characterized by other pathologies such as jaundice, abdominal and gastric discomfort, hepatomegaly, and dark urine (which is a sign of severe acidosis).

There are four types of hepatitis: A, B, C and D.

Causes and Risk Factors

Hepatitis A

Caused by a virus that can be acquired through eating contaminated food or water (e.g., fruits, shellfish, vegetables, ice and water), contact with the stool or blood of someone with the disease. The virus can transfer from one person to another via a surface touched by the patient, especially if they don’t wash their hands after using the restroom. Hepatitis A can also be transferred through anal-oral sexual contact.

Hepatitis B

A specific type of hepatitis caused by the Hepatitis B Virus (HBV). It can be acquired through exposure to blood or blood products of the infected person including blood transfusions, tattooing, sexual contact, sharing needles, sharing personal items (e.g., razors, nail clippers, etc.). People with multiple sex partners are especially at risk.

Hepatitis C

Most commonly acquired through sexual contact, exposure to blood at work (e.g., healthcare workers), sharing needles, tattooing with unsterilized instruments, born to a mother with Hepatitis C.

Hepatitis D

This type of hepatitis is only found in people with Hepatitis B. It affects about 15 million people worldwide, or about 5% of Hepatitis B patients.

Symptoms

Hepatitis symptoms generally include:

  • Abdominal swelling
  • Fever
  • Persistent tiredness or fatigue
  • Dark urine
  • Jaundice
  • Nausea and/or loss of appetite

Healing Hepatitis Naturally

Excellent hepatic or liver herbs include:

By far, the three (3) best herbs for the liver are Milk Thistle seeds, Dandelion root, and Boldo leaves.

Coffee enema

The coffee enema works wonders for the liver. It can be performed once a month. Coffee (organic, of course) makes the liver dump off toxins like a dump trunk. This process is one of the best healing methods for a toxic liver. Worried about caffeine? Well, when coffee is administered through the rectum, caffeine is not absorbed in the body. Caffeine is only absorbed when coffee is drunk via the mouth. Singer Janet Jackson performs coffee enemas. Janet knows something very beneficial about coffee enemas. Also, coffee enemas are great for overcoming hangovers and migraine headaches.

Castor oil pack

The castor oil pack process is one of my favorite liver cleansing methods. You apply castor oil on your liver (externally, of course) and then put a piece of plastic over it (gets very sticky) and then you place a hot pack over it and let it sit for about two (2) hours. This process is performed lying down and under a towel or some newspaper as the oil will slide down on the side of the body. The castor oil pack process can also be performed monthly or every 3-4 months.

Dietary Intervention

Activated Charcoal (Carbon)

Carbon or Activated Charcoal can be helpful with hepatitis because it cleanses the body in general and the liver in particular of toxins. Carbon is some very powerful stuff! It is very alkaline and neutralizes toxins, heavy metals, and harmful gases 2,000 times its own weight.

Olive and Castor Oil

Olive oil lubricates and purifies the liver and helps dissolve hardened calculi (stones) such as kidney, bladder, and gallstones. A tablespoon of olive oil can be consumed daily or as needed. Castor oil performs the same function as olive oil but is also anthelmintic (anti-parasitic) in nature as castor oil suffocates worms and parasite in the colon and liver.

Fasting

Fasting is also a good choice and method for cleansing the liver. Fasting purifies the bloodstream which in turn purifies all the organs in the body, especially the eliminative organs (colon, liver, kidneys, lungs and skin).

A note about Vitamin C

Many people consume synthetic Vitamin C, which provides limited benefit. In fact, most Vitamin C sold commercially is nothing but ascorbic acid. Ascorbic acid is known to toxify and tax your liver. Real Vitamin C is found in Nature (Rose Hip seeds, Hibiscus flower, Acerola cherry, Camu fruit, Alma fruit, Capsicum fruit, etc.).

Why Pets Get Sick https://www.dherbs.com/articles/featured-articles/why-pets-get-sick/ Thu, 13 Jun 2013 09:25:53 +0000 https://www.dherbs.com/uncategorized/why-pets-get-sick/

The strange thing is, cat and dog food manufacturers put more synthetic nutrients in cat and dog food than human food manufacturers put in so-called human food.

As any pet owner can attest, there’s nothing sadder than a sick puppy or kitten. While some animal illnesses are fleeting and readily recovered from, others are more insidious. Some pet owners worry that degenerative diseases in cats and dogs result from overly processed food and synthetic nutrients.

As one dog care expert puts it:

The widespread disease and death of dogs from nutritionally inadequate and poison-laden commercial dog food is no secret in the world of vets and dog experts….” – Andrew Lewis

Pet food is similar to human food. Individuals that eat fast food and ignore fruit and vegetables will negatively impact their health.

Morgan Spurlock’s documentary Super Size Me provides a striking example of the importance of proper diets, and how devastating poor diets can be to overall health. Pet food is no different. Consistently feeding pets low-quality food will have similar detrimental effects on their health.

Pet Food Ingredients

It is important to carefully read nutrition labels and make sure that you understand what you are feeding your pet. If some ingredients seem vague or if you have any questions, it is always appropriate to call the company and ask questions about the product. Your pet may very well thank you, for some involved parties report worrisome facts about the pet food industry.

For instance, Richard H. Pitcaim (founder of the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy) states that “Most people don’t realize that terms like ‘meat by-products’ can actually mean poultry feather meal, connective tissue (gristle), leather meal, fecal waste from poultry and other animals, and horse and cattle hair.

According to Pitcaim, customers should also be leery of terms like “meat meal” and “bone meal.” In his book Dr. Pitcairn’s Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs & Cats, Pitcaim writes that “Robert Abady, founder of the Robert Abady Dog Food Company, describes meat and bone meal as ‘generally comprised of ground bone, gristle, and tendons, and is cheapest and least nutritious of the byproduct meals. The same is true of lamb meal, poultry or chicken meal, or fish meal”. All of these are widely used in pet foods.”

Unfortunately, pet food may have additional issues that are not meat-related.

Some argue that the synthetic vitamins, minerals, and amino acids (coupled with meat by-products, and chemical additives and preservatives) being used in commercial brand pet products (food and nutrients) do not do justice to your animal’s health just as synthetic vitamins, minerals, and amino acids sold to humans in health food stores do not do justice to human health. These vitamins, minerals, and amino acids in human and animal food are basically metals or oxides.

Just like parents with children, pet owners want only the best for their pets. Aside from the quality of pet food, here are some tips to turn those sick puppies and kittens into healthy animals again.

Tips for Regaining Healthy Animals

Diet

As discussed earlier, diet is very important. Yet it is not merely the type and quality of food that should be regulated, but also the amount. Just because little Kitty is meowing and twining around your legs does not mean that she needs to be fed for the third time that day, especially if she’s looking a bit plump. Animals can overeat just as much as humans, and the consequences can be drastic.

Exercise

As most pet owners know, not all animals need to be exercised the same amount. And as anyone has ever tried to walk a cat will attest, some animals are extremely resistant to enforced exercise. Yet many animals (especially dogs) enjoy trotting briskly around the block or jogging with their owners. In general, dogs should be walked twice a day. The owners will reap the benefits of frequent exercise.

Medical Care

It is true that “prevention is better than remedy,” and the first two tips are designed to prevent any medical issues from occurring for your pet. Yet if worst comes to worst and Skippy should fall ill, there are trained professionals able to diagnose and treat your pet. Such care can be expensive, yet animals deserve to be healthy and cared for. This is the responsibility of the responsible, serious, and conscientious pet owner.

Students who are alive, energetic, and imaginative are dubbed problem students. If you get their attention, they will be still, quiet, and fully alert for learning purposes. You don't have to drug them down or dull their senses with drugs.

Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are relatively new conditions known in Western medicine, but they have quickly become the most commonly diagnosed childhood health issue. While many children grow out of ADD/ADHD, the condition can last through adolescence and young adulthood.

People with ADD/ADHD commonly experience:

  • Difficulty staying focused
  • Difficulty paying attention
  • Difficulty controlling behavior
  • Hyperactivity

ADD/ADHD presents differently in everyone it effects. Some are predominantly hyperactive, while others are predominantly inattentive. Still others can experience a combination of hyperactivity and inattentiveness.

Patients diagnosed with ADD/ADHD may also have other conditions or challenges such as learning disabilities, oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder or even Tourette’s syndrome.

Causes

Doctors and researchers don’t know exactly what causes ADD/ADHD, but they believe several factors can contribute to it:

  • Genetics-a gene has been identified that causes tissue in the brain where ‘attention’ is tends to be thinner than normal. Usually, as the child grows, the brain tissue grows to normal thickness.
  • Brain injury
  • Sugar and sweetener intake
  • Food additives-artificial colors and preservatives are linked to increases in ADD/ADHD
  • Environmental factors-children exposed to cigarette smoke or alcohol while in utero, lead found in paint and plumbing and other environmental factors can contribute toe ADD/ADHD

Healing Options

The National Institute of Mental Health recommends a combination of prescription drugs and mental health therapy to treat ADD/ADHD.

While this may work for some patients, the side effects of the prescriptions drugs-including cardiovascular (heart and blood) problems, psychiatric problems such as suicidal thoughts, becoming manic, paranoia and/or hallucinations, stroke, or sudden death.

There is no medical cure for ADD/ADHD. Pharmaceuticals may help to manage symptoms. Psychiatric therapy helps the patient develop coping skills.

People who suffer from ADD/ADHD have options in managing their condition. There are many recognized natural treatments that can help manage symptoms, which also helps the patient better cope with daily life:

  • Diet – Minimize intake of processed sugars and processed carbs. Eliminate exposure to food additives such as artificial colors, artificial flavors and preservatives. Essentially, eliminate any processed food from the diet. Put the patient on a regular eating schedule. Three meals a day may not be enough. The diet may need to be supplemented with healthy snacks in between meals to prevent spikes in blood sugar and adrenaline levels. Add fiber to the diet through leafy greens, vegetables, steel-cut oatmeal, berries and whole grains.
  • Behavioral Therapy – parents and children both benefit from participating in behavioral therapy such as Interactive Metronome Training for children, and parenting-skills classes for parents.
  • Create a routine – children with ADD/ADHD benefit from a rigid schedule that let them know what’s expected of them and when. For instance, when they will be at school, when they will do homework, when they will do chores, when they can play with friends. Create a schedule and stick to it.
  • Minimize exposure to television – The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no television for children under 2 years old, and no more than 2 hours a day for children older than 2 years old. While the link between watching television and ADD/ADHD is unclear, it is known that helping children develop attention skills can be achieved through activities such as puzzles, games, reading out loud, or using building blocks.
