One of the most important rules of cleansing or losing weight is staying hydrated. When you are continually replenishing your body with fluids, specifically water, you can help to boost your metabolism and flush toxins from your body. When you start to add ingredients to the water to enrich the nutrient content, you start to absorb those vitamins and minerals, which also help to promote natural detoxification.
Note: These detox waters are not sold in stores. You have to make them yourself, using fresh ingredients to reap maximum benefits.
These detox waters aim to do several things for your body. The various fruits, vegetables, and herbs work to hydrate your body, curb your cravings for unhealthy foods, remove toxins, prevent bloating, and improve overall digestion. By doing all of these things, you set yourself up on a path to achieve your weight loss goals. What you eat and how much you exercise will determine how much weight you lose.
You cannot expect to lose weight if you are eating poorly and are not exercising. These detox waters help you out, but they do not do the work for you. Let’s explore what some of our favorite ingredients do for the body.
Fruits
The best fruits to add to your detox waters include apples, pineapple, grapefruit, kiwis, lemons, berries, or limes. All of these fruits are packed with antioxidants and enzymes that help to nourish cells during the detoxification process. A lot of these fruits are also rich in vitamin C, which helps to boost the metabolism and eliminate waste more rapidly.
Apple Cider Vinegar
We always promote the use of raw apple cider vinegar, especially when it comes to the digestive system. Apple cider vinegar works to soothe digestive discomfort and the acetic acid works to suppress appetite and reduce the number of calories that enter the bloodstream. Additionally, it helps the body release excess water.
Cinnamon
While cinnamon may seem like an odd ingredient to add to water, this spice works to improve insulin secretion, which stabilizes blood sugar levels and increases glucose metabolism; these things are integral to the weight loss process. Cinnamon also gives you the sensation of being full. Pair it with fresh apples and a tablespoon of raw honey.
There are many other ingredients you can use to make detox waters sensational. Try some of the following recipes and let us know how they work out for you.
