Dherbs.Com Position on Soy Products

Dherbs.Com does not advocate or promote the consumption of soy products for the sake of advertising or promoting soy products. Dherbs.Com believes in letting people know they have choices in what they consume and also that they must learn to make intelligent choices about what they eat.

We would never tell anyone to consume soy oil because it's very deleterious and insalubrious. The stuff will eat up your brains, destroying your myelin sheath, just as canola (rape seed), peanut, and cottonseed oils will do. These four oils should be forbidden from any sane person's diet unless a circumstance existed whereby one had to or made a choice to consume a product containing these oils to get through the circumstance.

What many people do not know is that most of these Vitamin E oils and soft-gel products sold in these commercial health food stores are nothing but processed soy oil. Your Vitamin E must be derived from a natural food source to be assimilated by the body. Nature makes no Vitamin E plant or tree so where is your Vitamin E coming from? Alpha tocopherol? Well, what is alpha-tocopherol and where does it come from? What tree, vegetable, or fruit does it come from? You see, the bottle does not even list the FOOD SOURCE the Vitamin E is coming from. It just says:

INGREDIENTS: Alpha-Tocopherol.

Consumption of any insalubrious or deleterious product or food is always the exception and never the rule, predicated upon circumstances. So you don't consume soy oil unless you are in a survival-based situation or circumstance. But you would never consume this stuff when you have a plethora of healthy choices in other oils to choose from, oils like olive, grape seed, sunflower, etc.

People, you have choices in what you eat! Dherbs.Com knows many people are in transition pertaining to their diet and very few people can go cold turkey in their transition. We know this!

Many people are wisely leaving meat and dairy products alone despite their addictions to these products.

Okay, if you loved eating meat but wisely chose to give it up for health reasons or moral, ethical, or spiritual reasons, you may need a transitional product that gives you the feeling or sensation (and taste) of eating meat without actually eating meat to sustain you during the transition. The goal would not to be stuck on eating the transitional product or food (at least not every day), but to get through the transition to come out on the other side: raw foods or vegan.

You see, a transition is not permanent. It is temporary. The word "transition" means, "the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another."

So you may presently be a meat-eater making the transition to vegan or raw foodist. You are changing your state of being a meat-eater to the state of being a vegan or raw foodist. Ninety percent of people aren't just going to jump from one state to the other while a few others are and will. It's going to be a process, sometimes fast and sometimes slow depending on the person and depending upon personal circumstances. So while in their transition, they may need something to help them in that transition and this is where consuming mock meats or faux meats (usually made from soy) may come in handy.

The realness of things here in the Matrix is that most mock meat products contain or are going to be made predominantly out of soy and what can you really do about this if you are not manufacturing your own mock or faux meat products? Absolutely nothing (except mail in recommendations to soy-based mock meat manufacturers to consider using other things instead of soy to make their faux or mock meats, which will probably fall on deaf ears)!

When you are a vegan and on the road and want a bite to eat and you frequent a vegan restaurant, nine times out of ten your vegan meatless substitute meal is going to be made from some soy product, be it tempeh, TVP (textured vegetable protein), tofu, Gardein, etc. I'm just kicking the real here! Seitan (made from wheat protein) may be the exception to the rule here.

So when someone like Dr. Sebi adamantly says, "Don't eat soy!" what the hell are you going to do when you are on the road visiting some other city and state? Eat at Mc Doo Doo's or Booger King or Kentucky Fried Shit-ken? I don't think so (if you're a true vegan)! You are either going to: (1) eat meat, (2) eat soy (mock meat), or (3) not eat either meat or soy.

And it ain't like raw food restaurants are crawling in cities across America if you're a raw foodist. True, there's always salad, but how long will you last on only consuming salad (probably made from grafted iceberg lettuce) throughout the day? We are creatures of variety and will crave variety.

So you see, you have choices and options and because you do, you will need to know how and when to make intelligent and informed food choices predicated upon the circumstances you might be in or find yourself in. Like rights (constitutional and civil rights), if you don't know your choices, you don't have any. Period!

So, Dherbs.Com is not telling people soy is good for them and that they should purposely eat soy-based products. Dherbs.Com and Djehuty Ma'at-Ra particularly are smart and practical and know life here in this Matrix and know how to successfully navigate the waters of the Matrix.

I'm not going to tell you to not eat soy and not offer you a substitute. It's easy to say, "Don't eat soy!" but when you've made up your mind to become vegan and are committed to this lifestyle and find yourself on the road, you better know that soy may be the only thing that can carry you through your journeys until you can get back to your home city whereby you can perform your strict raw foods or non-soy products vegan diet. I'm talking to you from experience.

In 1999, my first wife and I went to Lake Havasu, Arizona. I had just gone hardcore vegan a year earlier. In Lake Havasu there were no vegan or vegetarian restaurants to eat at. None! Well, at least back then (with the exception of a smoothie shop which saved us). But being committed to being a vegan, I had no choices or options other than French fries. I ate so much French fries for 3 days straight that I had French fries coming out of my ears. I didn't want to see, smell, taste or hear about French fries for months. I was French fried out because I didn't have any options (or I didn't consciously know my options back then).

I learned from this experience. I said to myself (or asked myself), if this situation presents itself again, what would I do? I began going to all the local fast food restaurants that I knew had national chains and looking at their menus and inquiring about ingredients used in their products. Well, I didn't find much that I could eat but I did find a few things that I could (for survival purposes only) and only from a few places such as Subway, Quizno's, Baha Fresh, etc.

I made a list of things I could eat on the road whereby there could be no vegan or raw food restaurants (or health food store) accessible due to the city and energy of the city.

So now I knew that if I was on the road (as I do travel a lot due to giving lectures), if push came to shove, I would have something to eat to carry me over until I returned back to California which is a health consciousness haven, and once back home, I could detoxify my body from what I ate on the road and then get back to my normal routine diet.

I usually to travel to alpha and beta cities or major metropolises like New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, D.C., San Francisco-Oakland; San Diego, Seattle, Dallas, Houston, or Philadelphia.

In large cities such as these, your chances for finding healthy places (venues that serve vegan and raw foods) to eat at are very good. As a mater fact, I know they are good as I even created a directory of healthy dining venues in major U.S. cities that I can now know in advance what my options are. While recently in New York City, this list came in very handy and I was able to enjoy my visit to the Big Apple. I had options galore so I was home away from home in New York thanks to having knowledge of my food choices or restaurant choices that served vegan and raw foods.

When I visited Chicago back in 2006, my good friend and brother, Jason Muhammad (a/k/a Godson) had knowledge of the health food venues and took me to Karyn's Raw restaurant where the food was straight ambrosial. Another good friend in Chicago, Akua Auset, took me to Whole Foods Market. So while in Chicago, again, I was home away from home.

During my visit to Atlanta in 2007, my good friend and brother, Curtis Duncan (a/k/a/ Doctah C) took me to a few vegan and raw foods spots including Sevananda market which saved me on the plane coming back to California (as I bought a few vegan sandwiches to eat while on board the plane and the 4+ hour flight).

And every time I touch ground at Burbank Airport in Burbank, California from my travels back East, North, or South, I'm elated to know I can get back to my true dietary system, my wife's scrumptious food preparation, or hitting Juliano's raw foods restaurant in Santa Monica, Real Foods Daily in West Hollywood, or Leonor's Mexican Vegetarian Restaurant in Studio City.

So in reiteration, neither Dherbs.Com nor myself promote the eating of soy products simply on the strength. If you can do without soy, by all means do so. Soy, along with corn, is the most genetically engineered crop on the planet, which is why if you eat soy you must make sure the soy is of the non-GMO (non-genetically modified organism) variety.

Soy's phyto-estrogen (phyto = 'plant-based') is also suspect. Many companies promote soy for its phyto-estrogen content and personally I feel this is major propaganda aimed at women with female reproductive health challenges. Why consume soy when there are plants (herbs) such as Red Clover Tops, Red Raspberry leaf, and Black Cohosh Root also high in phyto-estrogens (the good estrogen called 'estriol')?

I specifically concocted Dherbs.Com "Bio-Protein" for all the people who truly believe they must have protein for good health. I stayed away from the protein formula thing for many years but I eventually realized a lot of people's minds are simply made up about protein; however, many of these protein buffs wanted to eat healthier in life (abstain from animal-based products) so I felt compelled to give these individuals a choice predicated upon their constant demands and so I concocted the Bio-Protein Formula and gave the people what they wanted. It was a constant situation of: "Djehuty, make a natural protein formula for me or I'll keep buying the crap from health food stores you're always condemning." How could I condemn and not offer an alternative for folks wanting to do better?

As a Taurus, it wasn't easy for me to bend but fortunately for many people Djehuty became solution and choice-oriented and recognized that choice was important, regardless if I agreed with a product or thing or not. People had a right to choice and I should not be the one who decides or determine other people's choices. However, I should also not give people bad or unhealthy things either just to placate them or answer their request, which I would never do. So I'll make an alternative, but a healthy one and one that does not violate my own principles, morals, and ethics.

Tiny Lister Jr. (Deebo from the movie "Friday") came on board with Dherbs.Com in 2005 and decided to give the natural way a try. He was big on the protein thing. But natural protein sufficed him.

A few friends who owned and operate their gyms came right behind Tiny in giving the natural protein a try. I knew the only way to get them their soy protein was to mix herbs with the soy protein and this is what I did by adding hemp seeds, spirulina, and other herbs. The soy protein is the least used ingredient in the compound, but never the less, it's in there.

I made a Bio-Protein formula without soy protein and it just didn't sell. People didn't trust plants as a good source of protein (despite plants being the highest source of assimilable protein), but seeing "soy protein" as an ingredient appealed to their subconscious minds (which took in soy protein as a reliable source of protein for weight gain purposes due to successful advertising by the soy industry).

This soy I use is non-GMO form and costs a pretty penny (the best stuff always does). The formula sells like crazy and people love it. I'm talking about people who work out, fitness buffs. The following was taken from an Inter-net site's board discussion on weight:

"You want to lose fat? Cut [out] dairy and dead animal flesh [from your diet].the weight disappears [automatically]..ive been vegan for two years...[I'm] 6'3" and fluctuate from 176-183 [pounds]....used a vegan protein shake [Bio-Protein Formula powder] from Dherbs.com [for] one year and worked out using the bartendaz program..[I] put on 18 pounds of str8 muscle. Whey protein..soy protein etc...[are] garbage.

This dude is absolutely correct in that soy protein and whey protein (sold in these gyms and health food stores around the U.S.) are crap and I have been saying this for many years.

First of all, hardly any company is selling or will sell you pure soy protein powder. Instead, the soy protein powder products are always cut with additives (i.e. mono and di-glycerides, magnesium stearate, silica, etc.) to give you less soy protein powder.

I make my position on protein very clear in my article "Protein Propaganda." But I'll say it again, the best sources of protein are from botanical sources, especially sea vegetation (sea weeds); and that cooked animal flesh (meat) provides absolutely no protein whatsoever, zero percent!

You can eat soy (tofu, tempeh TVP, etc.) but eating too much will clog your system. Soy products are heavily processed. The soybean goes through a lot in order to become its end result: mock meat.

But again, we must be intelligent and know our choices.

If there's a choice between eating meat and soy (tofu, tempeh, TVP), I'm choosing soy all day long.

If there were a choice between eating soy and seitan, I'd choose seitan.

NOTE: Because seitan is derived from wheat, people who suffer from gluten intolerance would be wise to avoid seitan.

If I have a choice between drinking soymilk and animal milk (cow or goat), I'm drinking soymilk.

If I have a choice between drinking soymilk and almond milk, I'm drinking almond milk. I'd also drink rice milk over soymilk as well. Soymilk would be my last resort.

Are you following my logic above? Basically, you must choose the best of what's available.

My good friend and fellow herbalist Tim Morrow told me many years ago, "Always eat the best of what's available because in the United States the best thing to eat is not always available."

Dr. Sebi is correct in admonishing people not to eat certain things, but he errs in my opinion by not giving people viable alternatives or discussing transitory food regimens, especially folks who are not strong willed and who may be going through dietary transitioning. He gives a few alternatives, but it's easy to bore of them and very fast, so large variety and/or transitional food regimens are important and necessary.

You cannot (in my opinion) be so technical in telling people to abstain from eating hybrid foods nowadays because damn near everything we find in a grocery store or supermarket is hybridized (grafted) and/or genetically engineered: the banana, lemon, orange, pineapple, apple, nectarine, carrot, cauliflower, peppermint, watermelon, lettuce, potato, onion, eggplant, sweet potato, white navy bean (Black Muslim staple), cherries, soy bean, tomato, corn, Medjool dates, kiwi, grapes, grapefruit, blackberry, Boysenberry, cashews, oats, rice (wild, brown, and white); wheat, alfalfa sprouts, papaya, squash, many legumes, and hundreds more of things many of us purchase and eat.

Meats too are included in the above, from pork, chicken, turkey, beef, catfish, and others meats.

Herbs too have been hybridized and genetically engineered, including tobacco and marijuana! Why do you think people are so hooked on these two plants today? Marijuana is not being harvested in the wild. This stuff is carefully grown in cities today and sprayed down with all kinds of harmful chemicals that can cause tuberculosis to develop according to research.

Damn near everything we are eating today is grafted:

"... apple trees are not propagated from seeds, but from cuttings that are taken from a desirable tree and grafted onto roots or trunks. This makes the breeding of new apple varieties difficult. New varieties are usually the result of happy accidents found in an orchard. This was the case with some of the most successful American varieties." – Don Voorhees, "Why Does Popcorn Pop? and 201 Other Fascinating Facts About Food," pg. 26

"Regardless of the variety, the bananas we eat today are seedless, sterile clones that grew wild and were domesticated hundreds of years ago. For this reason, bananas are not grown from seed, but are propagated from replanting sprouts from mature plants." Ibid

I go more into hybridized and genetically engineered foods in my article "Hybridized, Grafted, and Genetically Engineered Foods."

Nothing is safe here in this Matrix and on this planet. The people who Rule the world and who run the various societies (nations) are greatly imbalanced (though playing out their life scripts) and nothing is sacred to them and then we, the majority citizens, go right along with these sick individuals in their destruction of the Earth.

Hell, many of us work for their corporations and thus are dependent upon people who mess up and destroy the Earth for a measly paycheck that the IRS takes a 40% cut from to pay the interest on the U.S.'s loans. So you can't condemn these people and work for them (or patronize them/purchase their products). It's hypocritical and you're part of the problem and not the solution, especially if you don't support health conscious companies (under the banner that the prices for healthy stuff is too expensive).

You can't condemn a drug dealer when you support the drug dealer in his dealing drugs. By supporting (patronizing) him you keep him in business. Period!

Many err in my honest opinion in telling folks not to consume certain foods due to their hybridized nature. With myself, there's a process that I teach. First you have to help people become aware. People must learn that the most important dietary choice (as well as lifestyle choice) is to leave meat and dairy products completely alone. Animal production for food sources has and is greatly harming the human body and the Earth. It's just not worth it! It's doing too much harm and no good comes out of it.

No so-called food sources contribute to the development of various cancers in the body than meat and dairy products, or animal-derived foods. No other food causes the development of degenerate diseases more than meat and dairy.

Okay, after we help folks to realize the harm from eating animal products, we help them transition to fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds, etc., yes, despite them being hybridized. You must realize that people NEED to eat and will eat and are going to eat so they must have something to eat and something to supplement their loss of animal products with. This will include the soy-based and seitan mock meat products.

Next, we educate people about hybridized, grafted (or Yakubian), and genetically engineered foods – the fruits, vegetables, legumes, seeds, nuts, etc. We teach them about wild foods and their electrical nature, nutritional components and value, low sugar amounts, and how they aid in our return to optimal health and wellbeing, as compared to hybridized, grafted, and genetically engineered foods and their lack of electrical-ness (vitality), lack of nutrients (minerals), and high concentration of addictive sugars (a greatly looked over or hidden reason as to why there's so much hybridization going on with our food supply here in the Matrix in the first place).

Do you see the process or the steps needed to help people make the transition in diet and lifestyle? This is practical, viable, and necessary, especially if you dwell in the city (actually prison, as it cuts the city dweller off from Nature). We take the people through this process one step at a time.

Now some people are stronger than others and so some people will kick the habit of consuming hybridized, grafted, and genetically engineered foods as well as processed and refined foods quicker than others and we at Dherbs.com understand this.

We are all like light bulbs and as you know bulbs have different wattages though they all shine. Some bulbs are 20 Watts, others may be 40 or 60 Watts, and some are 100 Watts. Basically, though we are all the same (people, human), we advance in life on our journeys at different rates and speeds and it's perfectly okay.

Dr. Sebi is 100% correct in saying Black people require herbs and food from Africa (for bio-genetic purposes and reasons). But let's be real! Most Black people (African-Americans) aren't trying to hear anything about Africa much less return back to Africa even just to visit the land or soil. Most just don't know the importance of bio-genetics much less ethno-botany.

You can't take away damn near everything to eat that people are presently eating and tell them their food is in Africa but you have no way of getting them that food from Africa. We are here in America and most of us reside in cities where there are super markets and liquor stores (yes, people shop for food at liquor stores, especially in inner cities).

Most of us wouldn't know how to survive in the wild, much less know what to eat in the wild. We are spoiled with and by city life - big screen televisions, refrigerators, cellular phones, toilets, beds, sofas and couches, stoves, microwave ovens, telephones, luxury automobiles and SUV's, Inter-net, CD and DVD players, i-pods and MP3's, laptop computers and home computers, nail shops and beauty salons, barber shops, night clubs, grocery stores and supermarkets, strip clubs, churches and mosques, department stores and malls, fast food restaurants, liquor stores, gyms and fitness centers, hospitals and clinics, amusement parks, casinos, movie theaters, spas, corporate jobs, and all the other social amenities the Matrix bestows upon us.

In all due honesty, if you give people a choice between taking the red pill (reality, freedom) and the blue pill (illusions, Matrix), most people will proudly choose the blue pill and think nothing of it.

Right now, we are in the U.S., not Africa, so what are we going to do TODAY, RIGHT NOW, in America? People are addicted to the hybridized foods due to the high sugar content and the lack of nutrients keeps people eating constantly as their bodies are craving nutrients only to be or go ignored as more crap hybridized foods (or food-stuffs) are consumed.

So I say continue to wake the people up, teach them the importance of true nutrition (creating or stimulating a desire in them to have and receive true nutrients) and help direct their focus on where the food needs to come from and then develop a collective plan for food to be grown, harvested, and exported to America (U.S.). But don't just condemn people for doing what they only know how and what to do based upon successful programming in the Matrix and their limited food choices. People have to eat something while at work on these corporate jobs, or while attending college, or in school (public fool system), on the set of a movie or television show, at a sporting event, etc.

People have to become conscious so as to be conscious consumers as well being conscious in their duty to know that their dollar is their voice in dealing with businesses, corporations, and industry just as their vote is their voice with politicians and government. This is just how it is in a capitalist society and it's about time the collective people learned how to work this system to their own benefit and advantage. Systems (like government, capitalism, etc) should always serve man and woman and not the other way around.

In closing, you cannot go to the wild for anything until you've mastered civilization (city life, enslavement) and learned something about the wild from studies that you'll be able to put into practice when you're finally in the wild.

Thank you for reading!

FOOD FACTS & TRIVIA

What is Table Sugar?

There are several kinds of sugars used in the kitchen, the most common being table sugar. Granulated table sugar is almost pure (99.9 percent) sucrose derived from sugar cane and sugar beets. Sucrose is made of two simple sugars - fructose and glucose. In America, we prefer sugar cane for home cooking. Sugar beets are usually saved for commercial uses. Who uses the most sugar in America? The Coca-Cola Company. We Americans consume 128 pounds of sugar a year in one form or another. - Don Voorhees, “Why Does Popcorn Pop? and 201 Other Fascinating Facts About Food, pg. 118

All New Episode - Toxic Laundry

Our Herbalist, Djehuty explains how toxic doing laundry can really be.

SPIRITUAL FACETS

"Every organ you have is capable of withstanding any condition, given the right state of mind to direct it. The only reason that they succumb to sickness or disease or injury is because you tell them to. People have fallen from great heights without injury. People have taken the most deadly poison without harm. People have gone through fire, flood and pestilence with not a scratch to show. What they have done once they can do again. It shows that your body does not need to suffer injury from such conditions. All disease, all sickness, all imperfections of the human body are due to the one cause, which is your belief that your body is the master, that it can act, that it can catch cold, or become diseased, without the consent of mind. This is the procuring cause of all suffering. When you drive the belief in disease from your subconscious mind, you will drive away the pain and all the other symptoms with it. But if you will deny this belief of pain or sickness, your subconscious mind will speedily make that denial good." - Enoch

Ask the Herbalist Questions of the Month

I have been diagnosed as having stage 4 renal failure. I've been given 6 months to a year max before I'll require dialysis. Is there any hope for someone in my situation or am I just too far gone. I'm told my kidneys are functioning at around 18% and my kreatin (not sure if that's the proper spelling) levels are 4.2 so I'm not expelling toxins from my system like I should.

Is there hope? With God all things are possible. Who created the herbs? GOD! So with herbs all things are possible. Drugs will continue to kill your kidneys. Your diet messed your kidneys up and then the drugs dealt the final blow. Beloved, I would recommend you perform our Full Body Detox and Pancreas Cleanse and then notice the results. Drugs are dangerous! God did not make them. Man did! You can heal, beloved, if you do the right thing. Read our article on Dialysis."
