Testicular Problems

Testicular deficiencies are rampant today in the Western world, and of course this is due to diet, lifestyle, thoughts and emotions, and environmental factors. http://dherbs.com/uploads/news/id4725/testicularproblemsthumb.jpg
The male equivalent of ovarian problems in females is testicular problems. The male testicles are the equivalent of the female ovaries. The only difference being is that the testicles are located outside of the body whereas the ovaries are located inside the body. Testicles are the male sex organ that produces semen.

Causes

Testicular problems are commonly seen in today's society. Many factors can cause testicular problems, but some of the most common contributors include:
  • Diet
  • Excessive hormones
  • STDs
Diet plays a large role in our overall health, including reproductive health. A diet high in meat and dairy products is one of the highest contributing factors in testicular disease including testiculitis, testicular cancer and low sperm count.

Consumption of meat and dairy products causes elevated cholesterol levels in the body. This in turn can clog the arteries, including the testicular artery. When this artery becomes clogged, blood and oxygen become less able to reach the testicles and supply them with nutrients.

Added hormones can affect both male and female reproductive health. Today, many meat and dairy products contain added hormones. These hormones eventually end up in our bodies, causing an imbalance between estrogen and testosterone. Low sperm count can be one result of lowered testosterone in men.

Taking synthetic hormones in the form of steroids is another way our natural hormone levels can be disrupted. These hormones can adversely affect the male reproductive system, leading to complications.

Untreated Sexually Transmitted Diseases can severely impair testicular health as well. When a disease in the body goes untreated, the symptoms can escalate. STDs should be treated in a timely manner in order to keep sexual health intact.

Healing Naturally

Modifying your diet is always the first step in alleviating disease. Greatly cutting back on or outright eliminating meat and dairy from your diet is key. A vegan diet is best, as it does not contain any animal or animal by-products. Many males are apprehensive about becoming vegan due to the protein myth, that vegans don't acquire adequate amounts of proteins. This notion is false. Plants contain ample amounts of protein. Some high protein plants are:
  • Spirulina
  • Cholorella
  • Blue Green Algae
  • Irish Moss
Many professional athletes and body builders follow a vegetarian or vegan diet. It is possible to get plenty of protein without meat or dairy.

Eat foods that are high in zinc. Zinc is a beneficial mineral to the reproductive system. Males lose large amounts of zinc through ejaculation, which needs to be replaced. Zinc-rich foods include:
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Dandelion root
  • Alfalfa
  • Burdock root
  • Irish moss
  • Cocculus root
  • Garlic
  • Horsetail
  • Chaparral leaves
  • Red Clover tops
  • Rose hip
Herbs can also be very helpful in maintaining reproductive health. Herbs that are best for testicular health are:
  • Yohimbe Bark
  • Catuaba
  • Tribulis
  • Sarsaparilla
  • Cocculus Root
  • Licorice Root
  • Damiana
  • Muira Puama
  • Peruvian Maca
  • Ashwagandha
  • Schizandra
  • Eucommia
  • Lycii
  • Epimedium

5 Worst States For Producing Toxic Chemicals

As the state of humanity's common home continues to deteriorate, the importance of Earth Day and the activism that surrounds it increases. We refuse to stop pump chemical pollutants into the air, water, and food supply, and even wrapping one's head around how badly damaged the earth has become can be difficult.

That's why reports like the Environmental Defense Fund's "Toxics Across America: Who Makes the Billions of Pounds of Toxic Chemicals Flowing Through the U.S. Economy Each Year" are so important.

The Antibiotics That Could Kill You

In 2010, Americans were prescribed 258 million courses of antibiotics, a rate of 833 per thousand people. Such massive usage, billions of doses, has been going on year after year.

We have few clues about the consequences of our cumulative exposures. We do know that widespread antibiotic treatments make us more susceptible to invaders by selecting for resistant bacteria.

These risks are now well-known, but I want to lay out a new concern: that antibiotic use over the years has been depleting the pool of our friendly bacteria -- in each of us -- and this is lowering our resistance to infections. In today's hyperconnected globe, that means that we are at high risk of future plagues that could spread without natural boundaries from person to person and that we could not stop. I call this "antibiotic winter."
