Fruit Smoothies

Use your favorite fruits and be open to experiment. http://dherbs.com/uploads/news/id4593/fruitsmoothiethumb.jpg
Since the 1990s, fruit smoothies have taken America by storm and nowadays almost everybody knows what a "smoothie" is, thanks in part to major commercial smoothie chains such as Jamba Juice and Robek's.

Fruit smoothies are an ideal alternative to the traditional heavy breakfast consisting of pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, potatoes, and other foods that make you feel weighed down and tired.

Fruit smoothies are light, nutritious, and delectable and you can even have them on the go. Basically, it is a liquid breakfast in a cup. However, smoothies are not limited to breakfast time. They are great at anytime of the day, and excellent for detoxing.

This article will give you some fresh new ideas about making your own smoothies and will list many beneficial ingredients you can add to them. Many people are not very familiar with smoothies and are not aware of all the great ingredients that can ben added to them.

The Base

Your smoothie base can contain fruit juice, water, or vegan milk such as almond milk, rice milk, hemp seed milk, oat milk, soy milk, and coconut milk.

Fruit juice can include orange juice, pineapple juice, mango juice, peach juice/nectar, apple juice, grape juice, nectarine juice/nectar, bilberry or blueberry juice/nectar, mangosteen, cherry, acai or just about any other fruit juice you may enjoy drinking.

Good-Berry brand probiotic juices make great smoothie bases. They can be consumed to repopulate beneficial bacteria in the colon. Good-Berry flavors include mango, cranberry-watermelon, and black currant.

Always attempt to use organic brand juices, like from R.W. Knudsen or Lakewood. These juices may be a little expensive for many people due to their quality but organic really makes the difference, especially in the taste and not just the price.

Always try to use organic brand juices because its good quality really makes the difference in taste. You can use bottled fruit juice or freshly made fruit juice.

Ice

Ice is an integral part of a fruit smoothie. Ice helps to make the smoothie cold and can also add liquid to the smoothie if you decide not to use a liquid base. However, ice can be used in your smoothie with or without a liquid base. Traditionally, most smoothies contain both.

Generally, a cup or half cup of ice is recommended and it doesn't matter if the ice is blocks or little pieces.

Fruit

The key to a fruit smoothie is the fruit. Organic fruit is the healthiest option but any fresh fruit or frozen fruit will work just fine. You could even dice up fresh fruit and put it in the freezer overnight to use first thing in the morning when you make your smoothie.

Select your favorite fruits to add to your smoothie. Some common fruits include banana, orange, grape, pineapple, mango, papaya, apple, peach, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, strawberry, plum, nectarine, kiwi, and apricot.

I do not recommend adding melons such as watermelon, honeydew, and cantaloupe in your smoothie. Most melons are meant to be eaten in an unfrozen state.

In addition, citrus fruits such as orange, lemon, lime, and grapefruit do not normally taste very good in a smoothie.

If you decide to use dried fruit, I recommend using exotic fruits such as lycii berry, acai berry, acai berry, or goji berry.

Seeds and Nuts

Certain seeds and nuts such as chia, pumpkin, sunflower, and flax may be added to a smoothie for additional health benefits.

Supplements

This list contains so-called supplements commonly added to fruit smoothies for nutritional and therapeutic benefit:
  • Acai berry
  • Bee pollen
  • Brewer's Yeast
  • Bromelain (pineapple enzyme)
  • Co-enzyme Q10
  • Flax seed
  • Goji berry
  • Grape Seed extract
  • Herbal extracts
  • Lycii berry
  • Mangosteen juice
  • Minerals (liquid)
  • MSM Sulfur
  • Noni juice
  • Papain (papaya enzyme)
  • Psyllium husk
  • Royal Jelly
  • Soy protein powder
  • Spirulina
  • Tofu
  • Vitamins (liquid)
  • Vitamin C powder
  • Wheat germ
Dherbs.Com's liquid extracts are great additions to smoothies for nutritive and therapeutic value. Depending on your taste preferences, some powdered herbs may taste well enough to add to smoothie blends while others may not.

Most capsules of formulas sold by Dherbs can be opened and added to a fruit smoothie. Simply take two or three capsules, open them up, and pour the powder into the blender with the other ingredients and blend. With fruit smoothies, always try to consider the nutritional value of the content. In most cases, fruit smoothies often replace breakfast, so nutrition is critical.

Q: After being diagnosed with Scleroderma 20 years ago. I began to get pains in my stomach, more like a ball rising up on both sides. This was extremely painful. I have to sit still, until the pain leaves. It feels like I am a pregnant, and the baby is moving. For the past 4 years I've been having fruit smoothies for breakfast. Could having the smoothies, be the reason for whatever is happening inside of my body?

    A:

What type of fruit smoothies are you having? If your smoothies consist of only fruits then no. The fruit smoothies have nothing to do with what's going on inside your body. You might just be in need of a good cleanse. Eat only when you are hungry. Try not to over eat or drink your fruit smoothies, yes they are good for you but only eat what your stomach is asking for. Q: What happens when you eat cooked foods on the Full Body Cleanse? It will be very difficult for me to do this for 20 days as I do not frequently eat raw foods.

    A:

Cooked foods slow down the healing process. When you eat cooked foods it taxes your imune system and forces your body to work harder digesting and spend less time cleaning.

That being said. Here are some quick tips to eating more raw foods.

Fruit smoothies or green smoothies are perfect in a pinch. The travel well and can be really filling. here is how to make a smoothie.

    Liquid: 1-2 cups water

Base: Bananas 2-6 or 6-8 dates

    Antioxidant: cup of berries

(Optional)Greens: cup of baby spinach or other greens

Large salads with sprouted grains or legumes

Always keep fruit on hand (natures fast food) Non sulfured dried fruits work as well.

Q: When looking at the Food Combining Chart I was wondering if smoothies are not a violation of all of the "recommendations." If it is suggested that certain items not be combined, how can smoothies actually be "healthy" to our bodies aside from the absolute nutrition they provide? Although I make them all the time, are we not potentially setting ourselves up for trouble? Just wondering. Thanks in advance for your expertise.

    A:

    Hi! Thanks for the question.

The food combining chart is a suggestion for "optimal" digestion. It suggests we should eat mono meals optimally. This is often impossible and there is no evidence scientifically for this method. I am not sure how it would be studied anyway.

It is considered best to try to adhere to the rules to the best of your ability. However, mixing fruits and veggies as in a green smoothie is absolutely fine. The benefits of the nutrition you receive will out weigh any digestive disturbance that may occur. Feel safe to have green smoothies in your diet and cleanse.

Q: Hi, I am trying to find out if I can eat the following items while on my cleanse: - Oatmeal (breakfast) - egg whites - smoothies (can I use Smoothie King or Panet Smoothie or I have to make my own)

    A:

The literature clearly states ONLY RAW FOODS (please see the article "WHAT IS RAW FOODS" in our articles section). You can make your own smoothies or purchase them. Your choice!

Q: I'm currently on day 3 of the FULL BODY DETOX and would like to know what exactly I can eat. I've only had water, tea, and oranges for breakfast, salads for lunch and dinner with a few cashew nuts in between. I would like to know exactly what you mean by combining foods together. Example, oranges and apples, are you saying they're not to be eaten together? If not, why?

    A:

The ALTERNATIVE DIET AND LIFESTYLES MANUAL list great food alternatives during the detox. Food combining means do not eat foods not in the same category. Don't mix an acid fruit with a melon fruit. Don't mix fruit with vegetables. Don't mix acid fruit with sweet fruit, etc. Eat sweet fruit with other sweet fruit. Eat sub-acid fruit with sub-acid fruit. You wouldn't eat an orange (acid fruit) with an apple (sub-acid fruit). They are not in the same family.

Q: Can you combine Vegetables (green leafy) with Vegetables (fruit-vegetables)? Are fruit-veggies considered fruit or veggie?

    A:

Green leafy veggies may be combined with fruit-veggies (cucumbers and tomotoes). Fruit-veggies are really fruit. You can always tell because of the seeds. Technically, anything that contains seeds is a fruit!

Q: I started my full body detox program yesterday and this morning I stopped into Jamba Juice to get a wheatgrass shot. I also got a pomegranate juice, strawberry, peach and mango drink with a mega green tea boost...I drank maybe about 4 oz of the drink and trashed it. I had the worst headache I've ever experienced in my life! Was it from the sugar in the juice? They claim to be all-natural or was it from the fasting? Would you recommend this establishment for those seeking to get their body clean?

    A:

Yes my dear! Jamba Juice saturates their fruit in SUGAR before freezing them and your Jamba Juice drink created a serious headache for you to let you know that your body was cleansing and the drink was toxic to your cleansing.

It's best to stay on raw fruit and vegetable juices during your detox. Or, try some of the recipes for smoothies, vegetable juice, and delicious herbal teas mentioned and listed in the Full Body Detox Companion ($20)

Q: I WANTED TO KNOW HOW DO YOU MAKE A SMOOTHIE ON TOTAL BODY DETOX? And can you not mix any of the food combined if it says not to?

    A:

Purchase a great smoothie and vegetable juice book that offers numerous smoothie recipes. Or, order the Full Body Detox Companion ($40) which is a near 100-page booklet that offers numerous recipes, tips, and advice during the detox.

Ideally, to make a smoothie, use a base (some kind of fruit juice), add some frozen fruit or non-frozen fruit (your favorite fruit), add a little ice and BLEND (for about 1 minute)! Wa la ... you have a fruit smoothie!

Q: I am preparing to do the full body cleanse. I was wondering if canned fruit and canned beans are considered raw food?

    A:

Hi, and thanks for the question.

Canned fruit is pasteurized which is a heat process that renders the food
not raw. Beans are cooked before they are canned and are not raw either.
Most canned food has added preservatives and salt. Best to avoid on a
cleanse. Look for pre sprouted beans and legumes at your local health food
store instead. Dried fruit is better than canned fruit just make sure they do not have added sugars or sulfured.

    Hope that answers your questions.

Q: First off, let me say, I am soooo happy to have caught the DHERBS advertising while listening to WVON radio in Chicago, IL. This is a very professional, informed and wholistic website. Kudos to the DHERBS team! Secondly, I currently don't take a vitamin/mineral supplemant, but was leaning to the Green Vibrance powder product (are you familiar with this brand), as I've talked to several health food reps, and they spoke of it's popularity within the health industry, the need for vitamins/minerals from a natural green source, and it's potency over pills, being that it's a powder and will digest better, versus pills which come from potentially harmful, scientific sources and, since they're in pill form, aren't absorbed by the body 100%. I was hoping to get a DHERB rep's opinion on GREEN VIBRANCE versus your mineral/vitamin supplemants. I hope you'd be unbiased, as you'd be commenting on a competitor product, as I truly am searching for the best product. I thank you in advance for your time and reply!

    A:

I am delighted you enjoy the Dherbs website. Thank you for your words! Green Vibrance is a pretty good product and would supply you with much needed nutrition as mostly all green foods will. My only concern with the product (Green Vibrance) is the mixing of ingredients. I don't believe in mixing fruits with greens due to the mixture of acids and alkalines. A green food product should be TOTALLY "green foods" only and nothing else. Green Vibrance mixes citrus/acids i.e. grape seed extract, acerola berry juice powder with green foods in addition to bee pollen, royal jelly, wheat germ, etc. Also, as a vegan (strict vegetarian), I object to BEE POLLEN and ROYAL JELLY being used. These are from living entities (insects/animals). I also object to SOY as well which is in the product! Other than this, Green Vibrance is a great product that I would endorse as a source of organic nutrition and dietary fiber. Dherbs MULTI-VITAMINS AND MINERALS FORMULA and other products that are in pill form are in VEGAN capsules that dissolve 100%. At Dherbs.Com, we only use the BEST! Our product is 100% botanical! However, as far as absorption, NOTHING absorbs better than liquid and nothing is better as a source of minerals, vitamins, amino acids than FULVIC ACID which we sell as KHEMETIAN GOLD. This stuff is POWERFUL! 1000% pure nutrition! Do your research on Fulvic and Humic Acid and you'll see why I'm saying what I'm saying! So basically, Beloved, either way (Green Vibrance or VITAMIN B COMPLEX and/or KHEMETIAN GOLD) you'll be getting much needed nutrition! It's your choice! We value and respect free will and we don't believe in competition nor do we have to belittle, negate, or condemn another product or company to make a sale. Our primary concern is that people get what they need nutrition-wise and it doesn't have to come from us. Our goal is not to just sell products, but to properly educate people about human health and that's why we offer 175+ free articles in addition to 100+ products! Peace and Love --- and thank you for your interest in Dherbs.Com! p.s. - read our testimonials on our site and listen to (read about) the American people on what they are experiencing with Dherbs.Com products!

Q: I would like to know (1) Why you would not recommend soy? (2) What are some good recipes that you could recommend that are simple to fix? (3) What breads are good to eat? (4) What salad dressings are good and do you make your own? and if you make your own, I would like to get that information. (5) Also what is the 411 on wheat gluten? I'm thankful for all information and time.

    A:

    1. Soy

Soy along with corn is the number one genetically-engineered crop on the planet. Soy is not digested in the body and this is why we shouldn't eat a lot of soy products or shouldn't eat it at all. Soy is an industrial product. I would only recommend soy as a meat-alternative.

    2. Recipes

Beloved, I recommend that you purchase the Full Body Detox Companion ($40) which includes numerous vegan and raw foods recipes. But here are a few freebies:

Famous Muslim Bean Soup (Small white/navy beans, celery, carrots, broccoli, garlic, onion, paprika, sea salt, maple syrup [optional]) Directions:

    1. Bring water in pot to a boil;

    2. Add beans, 2-3 tablespoons of sea salt, diced or chopped onions and garlic and let boil for about 45 minutes or until beans or soft/mashable;

    3. Add paprika, 2-3 tablespoons of maple syrup, and diced or chopped carrots, celery and broccoli sprouts and let cook/boil for ten minutes;

    4. Let cool down to room temperature;

    5. Finished ? eat and enjoy! Great with some type of grain muffin.

Veggie Deli Sandwiches (Use TVP, soy, hemp, or seitan alternative "meat" slices available at good health food stores). You can add/use: Cheese (rice, almond, hemp, nut, or soy cheese ? remember: some of these cheeses contain "casein" which is a dairy product); Nayonnaise or Veganaise as a sandwich spread; Non-vinegar Mustard (i.e. Whole Food?s "Whole Kids" brand ); organic green or Romaine lettuce; organic tomatoes; Kosher dill pickles (I personally prefer Trader Joe?s brand of sour dill pickles as they are made without vinegar and taste great); grilled onions (optional). I also sprinkle a little Trocomore brand Herbal Seasoning (or sea salt) on my sandwich. I prefer my sandwich on sprouted wheat bread, rye bread, Kamut Egyptian wheat bread, spelt, or mixed grain bread (Alvarado Market brand). This sandwich goes good with Barbara?s brand potato chips (ruffled style).

Falafel Burger (to make a falafel burger patty: add chopped onions, black olives, and/or grated carrots and rice/almond/soy cheese; and mushrooms to your falafel mix; pour a little extra virgin olive oil on the pan or tray and let the falafel patty bake until ready).

ADD THE WORKS TO YOUR BURGER! i.e. lettuce (Romaine, Green), tomatoes, pickles, Nayonnaise or Vegnaise spread; mustard (Whole Kids brand); cheese (rice, soy, hemp, almond, etc.); raw or grilled onions; vegetarian chili; veggie bacon, etc. Sprinkle a little sea salt or herbal seasoning. Be imaginative and inventive! Satisfy your palate!

To add french fries to go with your burger: Wash and peel (unless you prefer to eat the potato skin) 1-2 organic Russet potatoes. Cut potato into halves and then into long strips. Put long strips (fries) into glassware or a pan or tray (nonaluminum), douse fries/potatoes with extra virgin olive oil (making sure oil gets all over potatoes). Bake in the oven on 350 or 400 degrees for about 45 minutes or until golden brown on the outside of potatoes. Make sure to turn the potatoes from time to time to prevent sticking. When ready, let fries/potatoes cool down. Add fruit-based ketchup and sprinkle a little sea salt on your fries ? and you?re ready to go!

    3. Breads

Good breads to eat include: BUCKWHEAT, KAMUT WHEAT, AMARANTH, TEFF, RYE and MULTI-GRAIN.

    4. Salda Dressing

Make a big green leafy salad with Romaine lettuce and/or Green lettuce (avoid iceberg lettuce), tomatoes, radish, carrots, cucumbers and any other vegetable you like. Be inventive and sprinkle poppy seeds, gomacio (sesame seeds and sea salt), herbal seasoning and/or other spices on your salad. For a dressing, try using extra virgin olive oil, sesame oil, apple cider or plum vinegar, lemon or lime juice (or combine them all). Remember , be inventive! You know what you like!

    5. Wheat gluten

Wheat gluten is better than soy and i'd recommend it over soy any time. The problem with wheat gluten is that many Black people have a gluten intolerance which results in disease (Celiac's disease), so Blacks should be wary about this product, esp. if it causes health problems.

Q: Members of my house have started drinking Hemp Milk and Rice Milk. No more Cow Milk! We like the taste of both. I also like the fact that the hemp milk has omega and other nutrients in it. However, my son is three years old and we have discovered he is allergic to nuts because a family member gave him a cashew to eat, then his eyes began to swell up like Garfield the cat. I had him tested for food allergies and the test revealed he is allergic to nuts and soy. So I don't give him any nut products or soy products. My question for you is: "Is hemp a nut or a seed, is the hemp milk derived from a nut or a seed???" I need to know other alternatives if in fact it is a nut. I do not want to give him something toxic to him.

    A:

Hemp is a seed, not a nut, so hemp seed milk is okay for him.

    Nuts cashews - peanuts, soy

    Grains - rice, oats

Fruit - almond, coconut, banana, date

Hey, I'll do an article that will be up on Dherbs early next week!

    Peace and Love!

Q: I'm doing the Full Body Detox and I have a few questions about it: I get tired of drinking just the distilled water and I'd like to drink the herbal teas, but I don't like it by itself. Would it mess things up to add a pack or two of Splenda to my tea or maybe honey? I can't stand the salads with the olive oil or apple cider vinegar or the lemon juice as dressing and it makes me gag. I have To have some sort of salad dressing. What kind would be suitable? Do I look for sugar-free? Or organic and natural? I found one that is organic and natural, but it has 3 grams of sugar in it. Without eating all my whole grained breads and other fiber, I haven't had much of a bowel movement in 3 days, should I wait a while yet? (I had surgery on my bowels and always had to take fiber tablets and eat lots of grains to get my bowels to move.) I haven't done the enemas yet, (low on money) should I try that? Or should I resume my fiber tablets I normally take? Any type of fiber I could add to my fruit smoothies in the morning? I want to also do the female cleanse. Is it ok to do that immediately after I finish the full body cleanse or should I wait for a little while? Thank you for all your help, I feel much better than I did before and I just started this detox a week ago, lost 10 pounds, too, woohoooooo! Thank you

    A:

    1. Splenda is a POISON and your are detoxing your body from poison. Herbal teas are fine during the FBD, but f you want sweetness, try maple syrup, stevia herb, honey, or agave nectar. These are NATURAL sweeteners.

    2. In re Salad Dressing, as long as it's not a commercial junk brand, GO FOR IT!!!! Get the best salad dressing possible.

    3. The fiber pills are not part of the FBD so I wouldn't advise those. I'd simply advise you to drink prune juice or to start eating prunes. Fruit is you best choice of fiber so look into eating more papaya, mango, figs, etc. And yes, colonics (and enemas) would greatly help you - undoubtedly!

    4. You can do the Total Woman Cleanse right after you finish detoxing. There's no need to wait!

Q: First off, thank you so much for your responses to my questions regarding my husband heart murmur and weed smoking. Secondly...I am on my third day of the Full Body Detox & it is challenging and invigorating at the same time. My newest question is...how can I make the fruit smoothie that you recommended for drinking in the morning? & can you send my a recipe?

    A:

A few recipes are in the Alternative Diet and Lifestyle Manual.

Use 1 cup of fruit juice (of your liking), 1 cup of frozen fruit (i.e. banana, strawberries, mango, etc.), 1 cup of ice (optional). Blend for about 30 seconds! Drink and enjoy!

Q: I am currently doing the Full Body Cleanse and my "meal" is typically a salad. To keep it interesting, I add different vegetables and fruits to it. I am not creative enough to think of other meals that I can possibly eat that consists of only raw foods. Any suggestions. I am struggling and I have two weeks to go.

    A:

A typical detox raw food program looks like this

    Breakfast:

Green smoothie: 1 1/2- 2 cups water / 1 cup greens / 3-5 medium pieces of fruit blended.

(see "Green Smoothie Revolution" Boutenko for more info)

    Bridge: 2-3 medium sized fruits

    Lunch:

Raw Wraps: collard greens as wraps/ tomato, cucumber, bell pepper / fresh herbs / Sauce (salsa/tahini/guacamole/ etc))

    Bridge:2-3 medium pieces of fruit

    Dinner:

Raw pasta: Zuchini sliced with a potato peeler / veggies / Homemade pasta sauce made in blender / sprouted quinoa or legumes

Snack: Sorbet: Blended frozen fruit in a blender

Q: Many vitamins and minerals websites indicate that their products have been tested and actually contain what they claim to contain; what are your protocols on manufacturing? Are your herbs organically grown? Thank you.

    A:

Organic/Wild-crafted Herbs? Dherbs.Com only utilizes organic and wild-crafted herbs in its formulas and compounds. Although organic herbs are always not available, we order our herbs in advance to make sure we keep our products full of 100% organic herbs as well as 100% wild-crafted herbs. At Dherbs.Com, we go the extra mile for our customers and we stay on top of our game to bring the customer the best product available! No other herbal company uses as many herbs as we use in our formulas nor does any other herbal company or business use the degree of rare and exotic herbs as we use in our formulas. At Dherbs.Com, without a doubt, you get the BEST and for LESS! Gelatin Capsules? Dherbs.Com only uses vegetarian (vegan) capsules made from 100% plant fiber as Dherbs.Com has a policy to not use animal or animal byproduct ingredients in the manufacturing of its products. Gelatin capsules are derived from animals (mostly pig) and are thus not vegan or even halal or kosher. Also, gelatin capsules do not fully dissolve in the stomach like vegetarian capsules. Most herbal companies use gelatin capsules because they are cheap, costing 2-3 times less than vegetarian capsules. Dherbs.Com does not let high prices or expenses stand in our way of bringing people the Best, the Safest, and the Soundest! Dherbs.Com is people first! Tablets? Dherbs.Com does not use tablets because tablets require the mixing of too many additives in order to make the tablet stick together or bind and come out a certain way, i.e. dense, smooth surface, etc. Capsules allow us at Dherbs.Com to give our customers 100% pure herbal ingredients held together in a 100% digestible vegetarian capsule for maximum absorbency in the body. Preservatives? Dherbs.Com uses absolutely no preservatives in any of its products as the only thing that needs to be preserved are “dead†things and herbs are not dead, but living (living foods), therefore that which is alive does not need to be preserved so Dherbs.Com does not and will not use preservatives in any of its formulas. Fillers? Many herbal companies use fillers in their formulas as a way to cut down on giving the customer 100% herbal content. Dherbs.Com is against this custom. Fillers may help the encapsulation process by making a formula more dense for encapsulation, but fillers have no nutritional content so when you add them to herbal compounds, they take away from the compound. Fillers help the encapsulation company and herbal company, but not the customer. Fillers water down the product! Dherbs.Com is against this process and custom. Binders? Dherbs.om does not use binders as we have no need for binders. Many herbal companies use binders to help certain ingredients bind together, but at Dherbs.Com, we use 100% herbal content and so our ingredients naturally bind together. Additives Dherbs.Com does not use any additives in any of its formulas. Additives water down the product and take away from the efficacy of a product that utilizes natural compounds. Additives help herbal companies save money by giving the customer less herb per capsule or tablet. Solvents? Dherbs.Com uses absolutely no chemical solvents in the use of its liquid herbal extracts or crystal elixirs. Our extracts are uniquely made via natural agitation (by human hand) and natural sunlight (solar energy) and our elixirs are also made by human hand and exposed to moon and sunlight. It takes us approximately two (2) weeks to produce a liquid extract compound because Nature requires time to produce what she produces. However, other herbal companies are like major fast food restaurants and need a quick supply of products for their standard of convenience and thus use harmful chemical solvents to quickly produce their herbal liquid extracts. At Dherbs.Com, though convenience is important to us, however, we won’t compromise the integrity of our products to help people get a quick fix and to make a quick buck. Patience is a requisite of Nature and Dherbs.Com is in tune with Nature. Dherbs.Com will NEVER use chemical solvents in the production of its herbal liquid extracts or crystal elixirs. Standardization? Dherbs.Com does not utilize standardization in any of its formulas. Standardization is an unnatural process whereby a standardized herb provides uniformity of a single plant chemical. A standardized extract delivers a quantified and measurable level of the targeted active ingredient (major alkaloid) in every serving and in which this active ingredient is considered by science to be the key ingredient responsible for the herbs health benefits. Other herbal companies trust man-made science, but Dherbs.Com trusts in and relies upon Nature. Other Ingredients? The phrase “other ingredients†is simply an umbrella term for “additives†and other herbal companies use other ingredients (i.e., magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, silica, rice powder, stearic acid, etc.) in their formulas to simply cut the volume of herbs in their formulas. Other ingredients take up space or room in the capsule or tablet and this allows the company to save money while giving their customers a watered down product. Are Dherbs.Com Herbs Safe To Take? Absolutely! It’s like asking, “is real food (i.e. fruits and vegetables) safe to eat? Herbs are noble foods in powdered or liquid form. They are 100% organic, digestible, and assimilable by the human body (unlike harmful, man-made pharmaceutical drugs which toxify the human body). People should actually ask their doctors “are these drugs safe to take?†instead of asking about herbs being safe to take. It is drugs (legal drugs, O-T-C) that kill hundreds of thousands of people per year whereas 0% herbs are killing people per year. Can You Take Other Dherbs.Com Products Together? Of course (unless you are performing one of our kits and regimens)! That’s like asking can you eat lettuce with tomatoes and carrots in a salad! If you are not performing one of our kits and regimens, i.e. Full Body Detox, Anti-Viral, or Weight Release, you can take our formulas together. You can drink our teas before or after taking our capsule formulas. It’s actually best to space out the formulas, but if you need to take everything together, you can. You have free will here and it will not hurt you or mess up the efficacy of the herbs. Not at all!

Q: Lunch is organic salad dressing allowed or maybe fresh lemon juice and some extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) (cold pressed)

    A:

Organic salad dressing is a healthy alternative, but because they're bottled they usually contain preservatives to sustain their condition on store shelves. We recommend sticking to raw and fresh ingredients like using extra virgin olive oil as a base for homemade dressings. Adding apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, sea salts and other spices are common ingredients for homemade dressings.

Q: Is there such thing as, cleansing too much? From May - July I did a 40 day cleanse. The cleanse was pretty much ridding my diet of refined sugar, flour, alcohol, and animal product for much of the time. I just recently finished the Total Body Cleanse, and will be finishing my series of cleanses with the Total Woman's Cleanse. I personally feel fine, but people keep warning me about over cleansing. Also, bringing up the issue of your body being stripped of the good bacteria (along with the bad). But, I"ve taken probiotic pills (1-2) virtually everyday througout all of my cleanses. Should I be concerned with overcleansing? After this initial year of hard core cleansing, I plan to cleanse maybe once or twice a year. What are you thoughts on probiotics? Like I mentioned, I am taking pills. But I'd like to find foods that provide all that I need so I don't have to take pills.

    A:

Many people are concerned about what happens to the beneficial intestinal flora after colonics are performed. Personally, I think many people put too much energy into worrying about something so inconsequential. If you're really worried about the beneficial intestinal flora after your colonic, you could always take a few capsules of acidophilus (acidophilus bifidus) or a liquid form of acidophilus (dairy-free, of course). I have never taken an acidophilus product after a colonic. I know Nature and my body too well. I know that my body naturally produces everything sold by man in a bottle, and that is purchased from a health food store, including beneficial flora or bacteria. I simply drink a minimum of 4 ounces of vegetable juice after my colonic sessions. If you're into carrot juice, carrot juice is just as effective as acidophilus in restoring good bacteria in the intestines. Juiced cantaloupe is even better than carrot juice in restoring the beneficial flora. Other natural substances that will help the body to repopulate beneficial flora or good bacteria in the intestines include: Blue Green algae, Spirulina, Chlorella, Irish Moss, Kelp, Bladderwrack, Dulse, Ginger, Cloves, Cayenne, Black Walnut Hull, and Carrot powder. Stop listening to these naysayers and keep doing YOU! You're on the right path!

Q: Do you have any herbs for baby reflux? My daughter gives her baby boy soymilk. I told her soy milk makes mucus among other reasons. What other alternative for soymilk other than breast milk?

    A:

Make a tea using anise seed and/or caraway seed, sweeten it with maple syrup, and add a little lemon and put in a baby bottle and give to the baby. However, remove the acid foods. Tell her to use hemp, almond, or rice milk. They are far better than soy milk.

The Chemical Culprit of Modern-Day Disease

It's easy to hide knowledge from the public when you run the very industry that the public perceptibly needs. So much knowledge about glyphosate is buried or disregarded because the public now feels that the Roundup chemical is a necessity for both agriculture and lawn care. The industry that made glyphosate a perceived necessity is the same industry that created genetically modified seeds, which were invented to withstand glyphosate and thus create a perpetual need for the chemical.

The truth is that glyphosate is blazing the pathway to modern-day disease by destroying both soil microbiology and human gut microbiology. Today, just about any food in the Western world's diet is tainted with residue of glyphosate. The microbiology of soil systems used for growing food are so depleted, destroying the natural nutrition levels of food.
