Does anyone know of any excellent hotels in california, near the ocean (within 15 min. walk or half hour drive), that are clean, in a clean neighborhood (that has a positive vibration)?

The city does not matter as long as it meets the above criteria. I just want to make sure the online advertising is an accurate representation of the hotel.
