It seems that some of us here are starting a detox/cleansing/lifestyle change which is great. Cheesy

For some of us this is new territory. I for one know this is very different, but I'm embracing it. I want to know for those of you who have been down this road before what was your (1)experience, and (2)guilty pleasure/habit you had to give up, also your advice for us detox/lifestyle change newbies.

For me my experience is that in the last week I've lost 9lbs (yea me! Grin) and I don't want to go to sleep (too much energy to do so  Smiley)
also I'm very giddy over my newfound energy (damn green juices  Cheesy) from my new handy dandy Breville juicer and FBD. my guilty pleasure that I'm overcoming is that dairy (damn cows! Wink) Yes I can say in the last week I feel awful to have been a cadaver but that is behind me as I'm waiting for my new vegan cook books and learning to make healthy deserts....

Side Note: I don't want anyone to think those green juices were easy or are cause they were quite bitter at first, but I 'm trying to chug them down like a pro and so far so good... Cool

I went to culinary school and I taught myself to modify recipes for vegetarian, vegan cooking and I am experimenting with raw cooking. I think the cook books are a great idea. Personally my guilty pleasure used to be ice cream. In addition to it being bad for me, I am lactose intolerant. I am so grateful that I found a health food store near me that sells rice milk, almond milk and coconut milk ice creams. As far as the smoothies go, I found that ginger, dates, or stevia extract (liquid) helps with thr bitter tadte going down. If all else fails, I chase the smoothie down  with a tall glass of water.

just change up the ratio of fruit to veggies. like 60% fruit and 40% veggies and they should taste wonderful. or use spinach or lettuce which doesn't have much flavor.
