peace fam,
i've been trying to really understand the law of attraction and putting in more effort to make it work. so far as i understand, whatever you feel emotional or passionate about you will attract, or create more of.
so i think i have a slight dilema.....i am really passionate about human rights, grassroots politics, etc. i think that the people standing up for justice is a courageous, beautiful thing. i am, by nature, a sensitive, passionate person. so much so, that i get very emotional when i see injustice, that i get very upset when i see others mistreated. i know that they say that the best debaters and politicians are the ones who don't get emotional, but i can't understand how people can't be upset at abuse of human rights. to some conservative, priveleged people... they think i am a crazy radical. ok, so i am radical, but i don't go throwing fake blood on people or anything like that and i can support all of my stances with facts.
so my question is, if i am so passionate and emotional about injustice, according to the law of attraction, i am creating more of it and attracting more of it into my life? i don't think i could forget about it. i have been a community worker, activist, organizer and educator since 1997. i can't live in a plastic bubble like some of these affluent people who've had everything handed to them on a silver platter. i don't want to create more injustice, but i don't want to turn my back on the community either. and if i see oppression, i don't think i can flip the off switch with my emotions. education about the issues is a key way to garner support and allies for certain movements - but am i doing a disservice by thinking about it and talking about it? i can't just say "oh that's fucked up, glad it's not happening to me" and forget about it the next second. i am really confused about how to go forward. any suggestions or input?
