I don't trust these cats that are accusing the Bishop. Why did they wait so long to say something? Everything was all good when the Bishop was buying these cats stuff, but when he cut them off they get mad. These boys ain't nothing but male prostitutes. The judge should throw this case out of court.

The allegations came when the money stopped! It does appear Bishop Long is guilty of engaging in what he condemns openly, but the charges came from financial cut-off. Terrible, terrible situation as my Uncle Arthur Lee Cooper used to say!

True they complained after the material wealth was over but I'm sure it's much much deeper than that.
Number one, they had been in this from childhood. Consider this... The bishop took these bois and screwed them in literally every way! Mind body spirit and soul! Then they are attached to him at every single level! Then he suddenly cuts them off. Not just material stuff but just completely cuts em off. The wounds run deep. I think labeling the children, now grown men, prostitutes, is unfair and an oversimplification of the whole situation. The point of this whole event is that the church is hypocritical, tainted, untrustworthy, false, unsafe, etc. Everything folks to there to escape from, they have been rnning to all along.

I agree Heavenzsun.

I was a violated when I was around 7 years old, by a prominent member of the church. Growing up in the church, its like we were all blind sheep, can be a very vulnerable place. And it took me years to speak up, what gave me courage, was when my cousin had a breakdown and spoke up of what happened to her, and then we found out two other boys had been violated by this 30 something man.

So if Long is guilty, to me that just makes him a manipulative, greedy, perverted, hypocrite.
And if Long is innocent, that makes the boys some lying, trifling, money hungry, no self-respect, punks.

The sad part is that the congregation also suffers in  this mix. What do you do as a member of this church? You have to deal with public perception, as well as internal conflict in deciding whether to stay or leave. I'm sure there are some good people in that congregation who did not deserve this drama. All they wanted to do was to serve God, not being involved in wondering if their pastor has engaged in pedophilia.

No matter what happens, this church will NEVER be the same.
