The Know World by Edward P. Jones is a book I would not normally have read, but it was recommended to me by a friend. It is definitely an interesting read. The book is a historical fiction novel that speaks on Black Slave owners. This book has many characters, flashbacks, and flash forwards. You have to keep up with the author, but he does it in a way you aren't confused. His style of writing is interesting and even though I felt like I wasn't into the book, I had to keep reading to see what was going to happen. He was able to draw me into the story, slowly but surely, until the end I was looking for more.

This book was Jones' first and he won a Pulitzer Prize, which is impressive. I recommend this book for people who are history buffs or those who enjoy reading in general.

I need to try and read this book again. It has so many characters, I could never follow the story fully, not to mention the flashbacks, etc. What I did read was interesting though.

That was a turn-off to me in the beginning, but after awhile you get to know the characters and some how the author brings them all together even the ones that seem irrelevant. You should pick it up again.
