Its like now they trade players , or players want to play on their friends team like it's college, Like I want to be dormed with my friend. No passion at all. I just was thinking about the knicks in the 90s when I used to watch, and Patrick Ewing, Charles Oakley,Anthony Mason, John Starks and company. They went hard and trash talk was just a part of the game. I remember Larry Johnson was shot out.

Damn, what happened, now they say something they get T'd up. Now every player is tatted up, but they're softer, way softer.

The passion and heart is REALLY lacking, they used to call fouls, and they were really FOULS. seems like the players just come to pick up the check like its a regular 9-5 no real rivalries, no character of players on display really because its taunting and stuff. Just my 2C

I agree 100%. I don't even watch basketball anymore. I got a bunch of thugs and wannabe rappers in the NBA now. I'm glad I grew up in the eighties.

Basketball has changed, but it always is evolving. Basketball from the 80/90s is not the same basketball as the 60/70s. I personally like all eras of basketball. when I watch NBA classics, I enjoy watching basketball from the black and white days(pre 60s) and then I also like watching basketball from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Current basketball I still watch. I love the sport and still watch basketball faithfully. Basketball is similar to America. Basketball is a culture and the style of play(and players) change with the change in this country. The reason why basketball from the 80s and 90s seem tough, is because america was tough then- drugs, gangs, working class. Basketball from the 60s and 70s seem more stylistic and chill, because america was a chill nation then- hippies, love for all, black power, etc. Basketball from the 50s was more polite /fundamental because america at that time was - just like that.

In my eyes, its not really the NBA that has changed, its just that we have changed as a nation and basketball for some reason is a sport that piggybacks on the culture of the country. My own theory on basketball and its changes.
