Pentagon Child Porn Scandal

The Pentagon child porn scandal has hit. Apparently dozens of military officials as well as defense contractors have bought and downloaded child pornography over the past decade.

Not only did they buy it, but in some instances, they also used government computers to buy it or view it. This goes pretty high because even people who have top-level security clearance are involved in the child porn at the Pentagon.

One of the scariest things about this scandal is that those who used government computers put the national security of the US in jeopardy. So far there have been no known security breaches that resulted from the child pornography.

Many of those who were caught with the child porn were convicted and served prison terms as well as paid fines. However, some of those who were identified were not prosecuted. In all, there were over 5,000 individuals who subscribed to child porn websites.

SCANDAL INVOLVES SOME WITH TOP-LEVEL SECURITY CLEARANCE

The Pentagon's child porn scandal involves top-level security clearances holders as well as contractors and military officials. The scandal involves over 5000 people and used 60 undercover stings and several websites focused on child porn.

The Pentagon has released it's decade long investigation report and the findings are shocking. Suspects from several national agencies were implicated.

According to huffingtonpost.com, The Pentagon's child porn scandal involves these suspects viewing, buying and downloading child pornography on their "private and government computers." One report stated that the Defense Department "at risk of blackmail, bribery, and threats."

One of the cases mentioned in the report stated that "the U.S. Attorney's Office declined to take action" after a computer technician discovered pornographic images of children on the computer of a contractor who worked for the Security and Intelligence Directorate of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

It is truly a tragic and unbelievable thing for some of the most elite in our nation's defense to seek their pleasures through such vile and disgusting means. Hopefully all those implicated will receive a fair sentence... even those who hold top positions in the different agencies.
