Interesting.
It reminds me of how John Coltrane would "shed his skin" in his evolution as an artist. Maybe Badu is doing the same and showing how people who fear evolution will stop at nothing to maintain the status quo.

When D'Angelo was naked, nobody said shit. Now, we got a problem because Erykah gets naked. To me, the "Afrocentric" dude was subconsciously viewing her as a sex object and not placing the nudity within the context of the video. I don't think Erykah would get naked for the sake of nakedness. Plus, I don't think she's doing it to "sell records".

Just a hater repeating what he has heard so that he can get some attention for sounding like an intellectual. Obviously did not recieve the message or appreciate the art.
I could see if erykah was a talentless female that need to sell her sexuality for record sales but that is not the case. Also she wasn't in a hoe suit either she was not going for sex appeal but for nakedness and vulnerablity and shamelessness and fearlessness and comfortable with myself loving self etc etc etc
just goes over some folks heads while others just thrive on YouTube video view numbers.
Erykah badu did the world a favor by getting naked. I was really surprised she did. I am glad she wasn't naked like a beyonce or a rhianna or anything but just erykah. Only erykah could pull something like that off and keep you think with enrgy spiraling up and not Down

I don't have a problem with her taking off her clothes (its her BOOTY [whew goddamn, Hottentont for sure ] not her beauty), I'm not into the politics and shit. But how did Erykah Badu help the world by taking off her clothes? That's like Spike Lee making a "Precious" like movie, but every critiques it like, oh no, he's not doing it like that, its SPIKE.... Blood- she's naky.

Not to say that everybody should go around nude. That is the extreme route at this point. But it sure drives the point home.
The world benefit because erykah is in the public eye got the public attention on a global scale and ge world will get a needed message.
Once you fall into the trap of labels and stuff you lose automatic.
Freeing yorself from the artificial stuff is a liberating thing.
