Look, don't kill that fly!
It is making a prayer to you
By rubbing its hands and feet.

By: Kobayashi Issa

This simple haiku put things into perspective for me. I read this haiku several times over the past few days. I chuckled to myself, because it is nothing profound, yet for me it goes beyond a simple poem. I had an a-ha moment. Somethings in life should not have judgement passed quickly, without further assessing the situation. I also read this poem literally. Even though I try to refrain from killing insects, I reevaluated my urge to slam my foot down on certain pesky bugs.

Life can be as simple as an haiku, if you allow it, or it can be as complex as this run on sentence.

What have you read or seen that has been simple yet profound?
