I give you a small excerpt from the final chapter of my novel, which I just went ahead and started writing because it's so epic. XD

To recieve total immersion, you should listen to this track while reading.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_VYakh37E4

EDIT: I switched the track. I thought this one was more fitting.

[[A black craft sailed sliently in the clouds of soot that now made up the upper troposphere.

It was not shaped like an traditional aircraft. An oval shaped hull that terminated into flatness in the rear, split down the middle by a rectangle rounded at the bow. Three large sickle-like wings adhorned the port, starboard and overhang of the craft.
The overhang wing seemed to possess some form of emitter array at it's terminating point.

Line patterns on the top and bottom of the craft revealed that it concealed items inside it's hull.
It was much to large to be an aircraft.
It transcended the definition of an aircraft by having the ability to fly amoungst the stars.

A small hemisphere made of a crystal-clear material stood in the midde of the top.  A man and woman stood inside. Comfortable leather-memory foam couches lined the edge of the hemisphere.

The man wore a bucket hat. The woman could be called a 'high yella' in local dialect.

The man stood off to the side, allowing his hat to cast shadows over his face.
The woman remaked on how beautful the landscape used to be from the air. Well maintained cityscapes, farmlands, wooded areas.

The cities were more or less rubble, with a raging fire here and there. The farmlands and forests slowly became grey as the lack of sunlight slowly choked their life away.
The vibrant landscape of green and sky blue had converted to grey.

The woman placed her left hand against the glass as it became painfully clear that her place of birth was annihilated. She tossed her hair behind her shoulders.

When a star goes supernova, it will become a nebula. After decay and condensation, nebula gives birth to new stars, which will go through it's cycle, decay, swell up, and go supernova again.
The cycle repeats itself over time.

When a fruit is eaten, it's seeds are usually left behind. Finding conditions favorable, it will sprout, grow large, and produce it's own fruit for these new seeds to be transplanted by hungry creatures.
The cycle repeats itself over time.

The man eased himself from his train of thought as the woman made her way towards him.
Her bright clothing stood in stark contrast to the blackness of the ship and the greyness of the sky.
She said to him.
"Using human imaginination... anything is possible from the ashes."

The man's eye's widened in revalation. He placed his right hand over his heart and balled it into a fist. Energy blocks cleared  away and some kundalini began to flow. He stepped forward and embraced the woman, wispering 'Thank you' into her ear.

The woman was slightly suprised and taken back at his reaction, but her tension eased as the mans body heat flowed over her.

Just over the curve of the earth, the clouds parted as far as the eye could see, and sunlight cast it's healing rays.

The ship headed in that direction.]]

That's all your getting! Cheesy

The beginning I try to keep a bit light hearted with some metaphysics and cynical observations. (Don't forget the romance. No novel can go without it. XD)
Some characters DO tread into the dark.

It later turns into an interstellar warfare.
We get pwned. XD

That is the aftermath. It's actually much worse than was is even touched on here. o_O

I'm not one for fluff talk, so I just observe instead.
This is reflected in my writing. :]

Characters only speak when something important needs to be said.

This IS the final chapter of the book.... anymore would be major spoilers.

Just showing how badly we get owned is bad enough. XD
I'm glad U enjoyed it. Cheesy

Writing to music is a suggestion that a friend of mine came up with.
Helps 2 set the tone for the chapter, you know?

Alrighty... I been on a roll lately. Here's a whole chapter.
Note that this is pretty far into the book. MAJOR spoilers. XD

Pharell cradled the neck of the corpse of the man he just killed moments ago in his arms.

“Tango dow-”
He couldn't finish his sentence before he was abruptly and violently thrown backwards, impacting the top of the doorway with sickening crack and falling to the ground. The fire team readied their weapons.

The corpse of their target was now standing erect with his neck and ribs no longer broken, his right arm no longer dislocated, eyes with no pupils, electricity coursing from his eyes and aura turning the rain into steam.

“You will die for this, Pharell,” he heard, seeming to come from every direction, north, south, east, west, all the directions flanging together. But his mouth didn't move at all.
“Shoot him,” Pharell said immediately, his voice modulator warping his speech unrecognizable. The team let their weapons discharge their particle streams at the now erect man. With blinding speed, he raised his hand, containing the particle stream in his right hand. Electricity began to arc into the air, bringing static into Pharell's communications suite and HUD.

It impacted him before he saw it. He couldn't even scream.
The force of lighting blasted his abdomen, shearing off layers of everything-proof armor and delivering third degree burns. Ferrofluid leaked from the bottom layer, desperately trying to seal the gaping hole and nanites flowed from the medical suite, refusing to let one of OREI's finest fade into the dark.

Coheed blasted away like mad, strafing to divert the trans-humans attention.
And got blasted off the building by a bolt of lighting.
Screaming as he fell, and screaming as he ascended.
But since when do you fall up?

The man stood at the edge, arm and fingers outstretched.
Coheed looked at the now empty position of his fireteam. Looks like his ruse worked. Glaring at his aggressor from behind his polarized visor, he uttered, “OREI will finish yo-”
Coheed gasped for air as his threats were cut off from the ferrofluid in his armor concentrating and contracting in the neck area.
“It's not nice to make threats, you know,” the man's voice echoed in his head.
He almost seemed to be smiling, slowing extending his index and middle finger towards the crying sky.
Coheed was violently propelled into it until he vanished from sight.

Katsumi kicked open the mantinence door they entered earlier, Pharell under one arm and her rifle under the other, and ran as fast as the speed enhancers in her armor let her.

“Command, this is Katsumi,” she said between gasps for oxygen, “tango is impossible to execute! We are popping smoke! I repeat, popping smoke!”

“What the hell do you mean you can't kill him?!,” Command screamed into her ear, “he's a damn unarmed civvie! You get back there and put one between his eyes! Is that understood, solider?!”
“Sir, I say this with all due respect... the man shot fucking lighting out of his hands! How do you expect us to kill that... that thing?!”

“That thing? I'm sorry you look at me that way, sweetie. I bet you are a real ten under that helmet.”
Katsumi stopped in shock and looked back towards the building she retreated from, their target now gently floating down to the ground, playfully spinning himself in the air.
“You can't be serious...” she uttered in her accent, turning back around and continuing to flee.

The man's voice continued to echo into the secure channel.
“OREI Command, this is Malcolm Lawrence Malone. You sent goons to shut me up, and you failed. Just because you failed doesn't mean I will not retaliate. I WILL go public with the footage of the events of this night, and if the mass hysteria isn't enough for the UN to shut you down, then I will erase your organization personally. I will not stand for this, and the people of the earth will not stand for you annihilating our brothers and sisters from another sun who have come to aid us in bringing in a new day. Enjoy the rest of your evening.”

A very large 'XD' blinked across Katsumi's HUD.
“Motherfucker,” Pharell began, gasping, “using emoticons...”

“We have approved the retreat order. We need to review the battlefield data and formulate a new approach.”

Finally reaching the transport, Sasuke and Blu stood in silence. Katsumi immediately placed Pharell onto the ground. Sasuke began to slowly walk towards the woman and the wounded.

“Why didn't you take the shot?!”, she screamed on instinct. “If you just did what you were supposed to do, this wouldn't have happened!”The voice modulator almost making her shouting sound humorous.

“Pharell”, Sasuke began more menacingly that usual, “years ago, I told you if you did anything to my brother that I'd kill you.”
Pharell weakly gazed at the man approaching him. Katsumi shouldered her rifle.
“You did something to him, and now, you die.”

Sasuke transformed from a slow saunter to his forged sword impaling Katsumi clean through, his palm pressing down on her sternum, the blue glow of the blade flowing from her back.

Pharell summoned his strength.
“Command, armor lock Sasuke Kaplecki.”

Sasuke kicked his victim's body from his blade and began his drive towards Pharell's neck. The blade deforged back into it's hilt and Sasuke froze in place, falling over onto Pharell's form like a statue who's base was smashed.
They laid together. Helmet to helmet. His visor depolarized.

He eyes emitted the same familiar look from years ago.
“You WILL die by my hand. I guarantee it.”
“When they see you impale Katsumi, they'll hang you for treason,”Pharell replied.

Blu lifted Sasuke over his shoulder and began dragging Pharell by the leg towards the transport.
“I never understood you, Pharell. How hatred can motivate you through life.”
Blu's grip tightened on Pharell's leg.

“But after watching you break my cousins neck, now I completely understand you. And I'd kill you myself if I felt like throwing my life away over trash like you. It's sad that you want others to understand your pain by giving them the same experience.”

Pharell's burn seemed to increase in pain. The roof of the transport overcasted the clouds.
Blu squatted down, flicking Pharell's burns with his middle finger. Pharell silently screamed behind his visor.

“Hurts, doesn't it, asshole?”

And for the first time in a long time Pharell was completely alone.
