Ladies, why do yall ask this question and get mad when we're honest.. What is the purpose of this question. I know not everyone does this. Just interested in hearing the ladies POV

Well....
I think women have to ask this question sometimes because men claim that they are simple creatures, but in reality, they are super simple. So simple that it is difficult to figure you out, considering that we are oh so very complicated and on the other end of the spectrum. We never know what you are truly thinking or what you want until we put it out there and ask that question. Even then, sometimes you may be evasive, but that's always a bad sign. If a man cannot articulate how he feels about a woman, chances are he doesn't think too positively about her. If he has great things to say about her, chances are he is genuine. However, if he comes out and speaks negatively about her, you can believe it is the truth. The truth hurts. However, we have to ask these questions to know what it is you are truly feeling. Otherwise we would go down a short-lived part-time lover situation. Or have high hopes in vain.

i don't recall asking folks this in the past, but i may have.
i've learned to figure out what someone thinks of me through our interactions. paying attention to that lets me know what i need to know.
when someone asks you what you think of them, it may be that your way of communicating isn't clear or maybe they aren't clear enough to receive their answers through your interactions.

Me either, I don't recall ever asking this, because a lot of people will lie and tell you what they think you want to hear to be nice...or just say something like "what...I think you're a nice person, you're smart..blah blah blah.." well, I KNOW that! lol
I agree, actions speak louder than words and I pick up on the slightest of things so I can tell just by interaction.
I
used
to be on that people-pleasing stuff once upon a time, 'til I realized I can't please 150 people, only me, but never asked. I think people probably ask out of personal insecurity or need for validation. Like, why would I need to ask a person what they think if I am projecting my true self. On top of that, what a person "thinks" about me is their opinion and is
relative
to their [usually strong] personal beliefs, values, thoughts, and the way they see life. That doesn't mean that's how I truly am. Plus most people are too fickle to make up their mind anyway.

In my experience with men, I have found that some are very vocal about what they want and how they feel, and others just go with the flow. I usually go for the more aggressive, darn near cocky, vocal types; everything is up front. No questions are needed. They have said things that led me to believe they were thinking of me as their girlfriend, wife or the mother of their children. However, I have run into many situations where having this talk could have saved a lot of headaches. I don't think it has much to do with insecurity, but to find out where things are going.
For instance, I remembered dating this really nice looking really nice guy. We called each other pretty frequently. He took me out on dates (very nice ones) pretty often. He even came by my apartment and helped me put together a very complicated desk that I had bought. We dated for a while. One month went by, two months went by, three months went by and I continued seeing other people this ENTIRE time, although I liked this guy, because he never came out and stated his intentions, I just felt as though he didn't have any, other than a having a buddy to hang out with. I could have asked him what he thought of me and what his intentions were, but I was still on the market and someone far more smooth was able to sweep me up from under him. So after I explained this new development, he then decided that it was time to tell me how he feels. By then I thought it was too late, I had already been thinking he was either gay or just not that into me. If I was really all that into him I would have just put my cards on the table and see what his deal is, but generally I don't waste my time with asking these questions, but it's not because of insecurity. I just prefer a more aggressive man who goes after what he wants. I think every woman has a right to know exactly what it is she's dealing with.

THanks for the input ladies.
I will continue to build my spaceship, so that I can interact with some females on venus. Earth is draining.

Oh okay, I see what you mean.....I was thinking what a person thinks in a general sense. You know like some people will just simply ask. I had a guy ask me that last week and I told him what I thought of him thus-far as a person in general, but to be honest on a potential relationship level, I couldn't really say because we are on two different levels (me getting free, him still into a lot of things I am releasing). But I get what you are saying about putting everything out there upfront, especially relationship-wise these days.

I don't know... you might mess around and find a green lizard-like looking lady. Not sure if you'd be too attracted to her... lol. What's wrong with the Earth ladies? How can we better paint a picture for you to understand us.

I am very intuitive.. and a bit of an empath.. but I still cannot READ THOUGHTS Communicating simply what you need would be a great start.
