I just saw it too.  I thought it was a really good movie. Well put together. I dont want to comment on the storyline yet. Dont want to spoil it.  I highly recommend it. Plus it's directed by The Hughes Brothers. And we all know Menace II Society was and will always be a classic.

Just checked it earlier today. I liked the movie!

I won't say anything on it either for those who haven't checked it and plan 2.
Somethings i didn't realize until afterwards or late that had me going back thinking through the movie and i wonder if that happened to anyone else?

Peeped it out! It was OKAY!!! Loved the music though! The action was good! However, subtle and (near end of movie) overt reaffirmation of Christianity via the Bible! That's all I'll say! Rating; *** (3 stars)

Side note: I'm trying to think of the last time I've seen a movie for $3.50

I would have preferred to keep my $9.75 x 2 people, but at least I may have found another great soundtrack to add to the collection.

I just saw this movie...interesting.  There was one scene/line that peaked my interest (I was watching at 3AM): when the guy wanted "the book" and said when you get the book and starting teaching from it, he would be able to control the masses with fear.  I don't have to tell you the first thing I thought of....

The movie seems to be more about the sentiments of the bible and god, than christianity. There was even a point where Eli and Solara slept in the stack, and he explained why he had the book, he said there were wars over it. The bad guy (forgot his name) said its used to corral the conscious of the poor and suffering. So I didnt see the movie as a positive reinforcement of christianity at all.

It also shows that the stories in the holy books are simply constantly recycled and most likely hundreds of thousands of years old but the earth constantly has its reset button pushed. Water was the most prized commodity in the movie . Eli was the sole holder of the passages in the bible and he told it to that guy on alcatraz who then printed  the bible "alcatraz edition".
