Vampires: Truth or Fable???

I'm just sitting up here watching Bram Stoker's Dracula, and I was wondering how much truth there is to this legend. I know that many myths have a little truth to them and was wondering about this one.

History behind legends is so interesting! Like Zombies and mermaids. Vampire legend comes from the Bubonic Plague. Sometimes they would try to bury people before they were quite dead. So when people would crawl out of their coffins, people thought they were vampires. Also because the body gives off gases when it decomposes, people would see blood coming from the mouth and hair and fingernails that also kept growing- all leading to the vampyric legend.

idk about vampires that drink blood but there are most def energy vampires out there...
