Herbal or Natural Supplements

Hello,
I'm seeing the words Herbal and Natural before the word Supplement alot lately.
So I am wondering what is a Supplement?

Do Herbal Supplements differ from the Herbs and Herbal Formulas sold at Dherbs?

I also saw a report on how Herbal or Natural Supplements can possibly be harmful if taken under certain conditions such as: when you are on other medication or about to go to surgery or after surgery.
Is this true? How can something natural or a herb be harmful?

If Dherb's Herbs and Herbal Formulas products differ from supplements, are there any harmful effects at anytime or during any condition?
