When you get some time, send me your Birth info so I can look at your chart. I am pretty sure I could find out why certain things seem the way they do with you.
I have a serious problem with people perceiving me as being too serious and having an attitude problem when I'm joking, yet when I'm being serious they think I'm Mo'Nique or Wanda Sykes, lol. I wonder what in my chart causes that. I can see how I came off as complaining, but I wasn't. Wasn't mad either. I was just curious as to why people always said crazy things about Geminis when people found out my birthday.
You need to be more understanding. The average person who can relate (notice I said
can relate for a reason) to Astrology only does so with an understanding of Sun sign Astrology. They do not know how to factor in the other planets, houses or aspects involved, not to mention asteroids, progressions and transits which are a significant part of the chart when you want to start applying it to people. It's very easy to say something like "geminis are complicating" when you don't understand Geminis are a mutable sign, air sign, and Geminis by nature have at least a little Aries, Taurus, Cancer, Leo, and/or sometimes Virgo in them from being on that side of the zodiac. That is what you have us Sags for - look at the big picture and don't get so focused an caught up in the details lol.
Curiosity is a Gemini term in itself, and I can relate very well since (1) Gemini opposes me in the zodiac, and (2) my strongest house is the Third House ruled by Gemini, and it practically governs my 'learning' drive. Curiosity all too often is the beginning of building on all of that intellect.
For instance, My best friend's birthday is April 21st and mine is June 3rd. When she tells someone her birthday it wouldn't illicit an as emotional response like the ones I would get. Hers would be more like "Oh you're a Taurus. I should've known that's why you're so stubborn.", but with me it's more like "Hell no! Man, ya'll some crazy mother@#$%^s!!!! One minute you coolin' and the next ya'll going off on people left and right". I was just curious because a lot of the things they say about Geminis do not apply to me.
Oh you were born on the 3rd? So was I! Yes you are surely "in the middle" of Gemini. As far as she is concerned, think of the default emotional response associated with Taurus. I know for me, I think of Venus (it's ruling planet), it being an earth sign which means 'grounded,' etc.; in short, you don't get too crazy over earth signs. Fire signs however, we get alot of criticism and attention (look at what has happened with Leo in this thread). Air signs (Gemini, Libra Aquarius) - y'all are the "people-persons" of the zodiac, so people (negatively and positively) will be talking about you, especially when you are the ones who govern "talking" to begin with. Going back to Taurus - exactly how much do people understand about Taurus in general, outside of being a fixed sign (hence, stubborn), material-centered, and down-to-earth? You don't really have too many people who look deep enough into it. It's easy to target Gemini, because y'all are capable of getting into so many things, and it just doesn't stop (that's the nature of being a Mutable-restless sign). In fact, I could sit here and make a case that all of us in mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) get "bashed" the most on the web and are the easiest to target, and rightfully so. Gemini can not stop talking, Virgo can not stop serving or criticizing, Sagittarius is all over the place and irresponsible (not to mention clumsy), and Pisces dreams all day. We are very easy to target with all that we do, and we do not stop doing it. What do I say to that? It doesn't even matter - at the end of the day we all have our strengths and weaknesses. However, I also say be thankful that we are helpful, multi-adaptable, and are not so hungry to take the credit for everything.
First of all my rising sign is Virgo, so I come off as shy or stuck up to a lot of people. I'm not a big talker, but when I do talk I am blunt, direct, and I try to get my point across with the least amount of words. I wonder if that has anything to do with my Mercury being in Taurus. Oddly enough my writing style is somewhat elaborate. I also don't do the Dr. Jekyl & Mr. Hyde thing that we get accused of so often. Now my father on the other hand, he's what I call an über Gemini. His Sun, risining sign, Mercury, and Mars are all in Gemini. Let's just say that my childhood was interesting, lol. But like you said, these people probably had experiences with Geminis who exhibit all of the "crazy" behavior we're known for and they're categorizing every other person with the same sign. Most people aren't aware that there's so much more to astrology than your sun sign.
Sure I understand...my rising sign is Virgo as well! (no planets in the First House) I too come off as "perfect" (like Tiger Woods, another Virgo-Rising native), reserved, shy, and soft-spoken, only to have people turn around and say "awww... I thought you were so smart and so intelligent, how could you do this and that...?" I know the feeling, but be glad that you are more aware of your nature and potentials than the next person ready to criticize you. In contrast to you, I talk an awful not both on and offline, but there's a reason for that. Mercury in Taurus usually confers someone who does talk alot, but they can also be "slow and steady" with their thoughts and actions. Further, much like the Bull Taurus is represented by, once you get into something (mentally speaking) you can keep going and keep charging like never before lol.
My little brother is a Sagittarius, and even though I'm 8 years older than him, out of my 5 siblings he and I are the closest. It's been that way since he was born. Also, the men that I've had the strongest attractions for have been Sagittarius. Does this have anything to do with Sagittarius being my zodiac opposite?
Again I can delve deeper into this once I see your chart. I can tell you that given we are opposite each other, you are not exactly a "stranger" to us. We have a few similarities - such that opposites attracting will play out in itself. Maybe your asteroids are in Sag, but we'll see.
