Okay, I had to get Jack LaLanne's latest book
LIVE YOUNG FOREVER. I figured a man who can drag boats across the ocean at 60 (he's 95 now) has something to teach me. It's a book of his fitness and nutrition philosophies, exercise routines and how he has been able to keep a 27" waist through the years.
One of the interesting things he said in the book is that nothing you eat should remain in your colon for more than 36 hours. I know that people who eat beef have it in their system for a week!
He's a big proponent of stretching and calisthenics as well as moderate weight training. He doesn't do those crazy feats to celebrate his birthdays. He just sells his juicer and engages in bad singing with his wife!
