I was listening to something the other day that made me remember some things that happened when I younger. I also started studying the occult when I was 9-12, but put it away like a good little christian child.  Now, there is too much in my life pointing me back to getting into studying EVERYTHING and not limiting myself.  Does anyone else have experiences like these?

1) I used to be terrified of the dark, like sleeping under the covers to prevent me from seeing anything. It is a common fear for children, but one night when I was 7 or 8, I remember waking up and seeing this huge dark figure standing in my bedroom doorway.  It did not move, but filled the WHOLE doorway.  I remember screaming for my dad over and over again...and when he came I remember thinking "that thing was at least a head taller than my dad!"  Now with more studying and such, I am wondering if it might have been actually an entity/spirit/something protecting me.  Especially with the next memories flooding back.

2) I used to have dreams of places I had never seen and people I had never met...only to have them come true almost exactly a year later.  This has not happened it awhile though.  I mentioned it to my mom one time, and she was like shhhhh, but later said your great-grandma used to see things too.  My mom now has severe mental issues and I am wondering if maybe they are partially caused by her inability to manage/acknowledge her abilities.

3) During college, I would come home during the winter break to work as much as possible.  I would be SUPER tired.  Some nights, I would start the car to come home...and wake-up at home.

4) One time during grad school, I had driven back from my at the time fiancee's base 4 hours away.  Once I got home, there was this show on TV that I wanted to record, but did not have a tape.  So as I am leaving my street, I have to decide whether to turn left or right, both ways would get me there just one via a highway and the other through town.  I clearly heard a voice in my ear say "turn right"...I was like wow I'm trippin'...and turned LEFT.  I ended up getting a ticket for speeding in an unmarked school zone with a predatory cop waiting to fill his quota for the month.  I've learned to listen more carefully.

LOL. I have experienced things like that too, and I still sleep with the covers over my head at night sometimes when I feel like there is something watching me because I just don't want to end up seeing it and I am 19 and about to have a baby thought I would have grown out of that by now.

i used to always have a fear of aliens standing over me while i slept and would dream about them too.  but they didnt look really like aliens, remembering now that im older they really looked like 'pygmies'. their vibe was always that of watching me, or other times the vibe was like "hey come here we want to show you something".

lol thats happened to me a few times, waking up like how the hell did I get home not even remembering which way i came

LOL@ "turn right". yes im learning to listen when that 'voice' speaks to me, cause whenever i dont listen it end up feeling like Red Foxx saying ''you big dummy'' !!

Glad I'm not the only one having these experiences Smiley

Actually, having my baby 2 years ago is what got me to stop sleeping with my head under the covers.  First, because when she was first born I got more sleep if I let her sleep with me b/c she could eat while I slept...which was important because I was in school at the time.  Second, because once she was in her own bed, I had to learn to walk around in the dark at night to prevent waking her up. Though with mirrored closets, I still get startled once in awhile Smiley Sometimes I still "chant" to myself while walking in the dark "My home is safe and full of peace" to prevent my fear from surfacing.

I'm glad that I made it home in those instances.  I have been thinking about trying to do some hypnosis to figure out some of the childhood things, but am unsure that I am ready for the answer.

LOL at the Red Foxx quote, but that is exactly how it is every time I convince myself that I did not hear that "voice" --only to later wish I had listened.

Maybe I should practice a chant like that and stop covering my head at night time when I sleep.

Dream--It is pretty liberating not to feel the need to hide at night.

Yea I saw this lady in my doorway and I was afraid of her because she inspired such strong feeling in me
when I tried to ask her who she was I found I could not speak!!!
I grew so fearful that I woke up and haven't seen her since!!
today I was on the bus and I was afraid I would miss my stop because I had never been oin the path and the street names were blocked by the over hang
I got this strong feeling to pull the lever now.
I didn't want to be wrong and look stupid so I didn't
luckily someone else pulled it and I got off at the right stop.

last night I heard voices!!!
Not like your conscious but like a three whole separate conscious entities.
music started playing like a record clear as if were coming from a radio
then I floated up out of my body!!! and was flying around my room but it was different because there were things on the shelves and the floors and stuff that weren't there when I woke up!!!

I remember the bible stories where it said and so an so heard the voice of god calling him and he said here I am lord!!!

I've had some of these experiences. But with me its not soo much a voice but an urgent feeling telling me to do something, of course,  I've  tried to ignore it, and get screwed in the process. Other times, I've listened, and have avoided getting stung by poisonous insects, for example, one time when I was younger, I felt the need to just wake out my dream, and as I was laying there, I heard something on my pillow, so I thought it was my hair, but my mind kept telling me no, come to find out there was this big ass centipede crawling right by my face.
And the sleeping with covers over my head, still happens to this day, granted that I've seen some real freaky shit.
1. One time when I was in middle school I woke up with an old wrinkled hand over my face.
(Around that time. I lived near a graveyard)

2. At that same place I saw a cherubim in the hallway.

3. At my great-grandfather's house, I was sleeping and felt something moving my pillow, and then saw something over my sheets and then saw something else like a shadowy figure at the corner (I ran the hell up out of there)

My younger cousin once woke out of her dream terrified, because she was seeing rats all around her, although wide awake..she had to come by my house to sleep.

I know my mother told me of a time when my grandmother was sleeping but trying to call her, and she couldn't, despite my mother standing right next to her. My family has a lot of these, stories, but they rarely talk about it, unless we're at a funeral

re # 1-- I refused to go to one university because the dorm where I was to be housed was next to a cemetery.

about the funeral thing--My grandfather had some kind of neurological thing going on before he died and was not  able to communicate much...on the day he died an electronic toy bird with which he often played started squeaking for several minutes...there were no batteries in it (it had been hidden without batteries in a cabinet because the adults found it annoying)...and we found out later that this was happening as he was dying in the hospital.  The older generation tells those of us who were kids at the time that we were confused and there was a logical explanation (they are unable to supply the reason though)...but my cousins and I know what we saw and heard.

I used to be afraid of the dark too up until about a year ago. I thought about why I was afraid of it and came to the conclusion it wasn't the dark itself I was afraid of but what might be in it. I then stopped sleeping with lights on to ween myself into getting used to it. I also thought about all the 'bad' or scary things that ever happened to me in my life and realized that most happened in the light or when I could see. These realizations and metaphysical teachings about darkness being nuturing helped changed my perception of darkness. I must say I am quite at peace now in the dark.

I made the mistake of reading a review about the movie "Paranormal Activity" and then watching the trailer.  I am going to have to make sure to focus on light and love to get this junk out of my mind, so I am not freaked out tonight.

Those who like scary movies might enjoy this film, but I already can sense to much to want to invite the type of energy that will be shown in this movie...

What was that in their home? Poltergeist? Seems like one of those blair witch, six sense, exorcist, poltergeist movies. The type of movie that you jump at every sond, because of the lighting, and music played to heighten your fear while watching the movie. I dont usually watch movies like this, certainly wouldnt pay to see, I'll wait for dvd... maybe.

Yes, I think it's supposed to be some type of poltergeist movie.  I was thinking about watching it, but remembering how scared I was for weeks and months after my husband convinced me (against my better judgment) to watch the ring movies with him--it's best that I pass.

lol. Are you scared of movies that could possibly happen or all scary movies? Will you watch movies like Saw, final destination, resident evil?

LOL--You have a point, I like thrillers and mysteries, so I will watch things like Saw, Final Destination, What Lies Beneath, and the Sixth Sense.  But I stay away from the ring, poltergeist, resident evil, the exorcist and any other movies they would normally put out near Halloween.
