I came  close to that. I sometimes have bad dreams that I know it's a dream and try hard as hell to wake up and when I wake I can't move. Scary as HELL!

i've experienced that also and it only happened to me when it was a bad dream. i knew it was a dream but i couldn't open my eyes or move. i was fully consciously awake but couldn't move. i wonder why doesn't that happen when it is a good dream?

Maybe it only happens with bad dreams because you are desperate to escape from the situation, while in good dreams one is interested in what happens next, so even if they were awake--they don't want to be?
