Please good brother, I need your help....................................once again Grin. My daughter is 5 in January and sucks her right index finger. She's been doing it since birth. She also rubs a satin cloth. I used to do this as a child and even now I still rub a piece of satic cloth to calm me down. She's lost her 2 front teeth and I need her to stop finger sucking before her permanent teeth come through. I stopped sucking my thumb at 15 after I was forced to wear a brace. Can you suggest something to help her? I've tried wrapping it up and she put her finger in her mouth regardless. Thanks in advance.

Personally beloved, I don't know if stopping something one does naturally is a good thing as you said YOU wanted the child to stop (before the new teeth comes in). The child evidently does not want to stop. Basically you'd be using force and I personally don't believe in using force, but the Tao. A child stops doing a thing when THEY are ready to. Take emphasis off of this situation so as to take energy away from it. If you stop the child from finger sucking you repress the activity and then the child picks up another habit/activity to express something (usually an emotional need that is lacking).

Finger sucking mimics breastfeeding and if a child was not breastfed, they may pick up fingersucking, symbolizing the need for emotional nurturing from the mother. Babies suckle for one reason - NOURISHMENT and breast milk contains the emotions and sentiments of the mother, plus her energy from the breast chakras at her nipples.

Finger sucking beyond infant stage conveys a message that needs to be addressed properly, not suppressed.

Please think over these words!

Peace!
