10 gallon you are forever having projects lol. You need to tell us the results. are you getting good marks??!!! lol

To me those words are interchangeable.  You have faith that fate will bring the right results. You believe in fate because you have faith in the powers of the universe.

that is a tough and good question. My definition is below

Faith: the belief of a higher being or creed and willingness to go into the unknown, knowing that higher power will be by your side.

ex: I dont know if you have ever see Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. There is a scene in the movie where he has to walk across a HUGE valley, but there is no bridge. At that point Indy looks at his book and it states something along the lines of having faith. After reading that he just walks! He took that step with faith, with the belief that God was there with him. After Indy takes that step, he actually ends up walkin on an invisible bridge. He had faith so he took that leap. Others may have looked at that valley and turned away. That example reminds me of what faith is.

Fate:
an individuals destiny will always occur. It is set in stone that no matter what happens, that particular individuals destiny will happen

ex: There is a show called lost. This individual desmond can see the future. He told charlie that he was going to die. Desmond throughout 5 episodes kept trying to save charlie from dying. From the very first incident which charlie was supposed to drown in the ocean, to many others. Finally, Desmond couldnt save charlie. Charlie ended up dying, by drowning but not int he ocean, in a room that got flooded. This example reminds me of fate(negative side), no matter what desmond did, charlie ended up dying and he died the way he was supposed to originally die, by drowning

For your debate:
its good that you want definitions from both sides. Make sure you just dont debate for faith without having some evidence/sources, it makes your case sound more reasonable. Prepare by knowing both sides. That will be the way you will win. If you can kind of figure out what examples/sources your opponent will use, you can find examples and sources to refute what they say. If they have an example that makes fate sound the best, you have an example that puts in down and brings faith back up. I dont know what your debate setup is like. But try to have your 1st argument be your best. fill the middle with some good arguments. then your closing argumentshould be a summary of why you chose faith and a good example. Theory is good to use in your debate, because it makes you seem more credible. good luck!!

^^ That was a good example.  Basically though just have information that you know off the top of your head.  Don't just simply reiterate what someone else said, that's self sabotaging as it makes it like you don't know what your talking about.  IMO faith is simply reassurance in God/Universe of a desired journ or outcome whereas fate doesn't bode with me as it would imply that YOUR reality isn't in your hands.  Fate to me sounds like a religious tool and can be used against you.  Best thing is to understand the paranormal and quantam physics(see "What the bleep do we know?") and Universal law of Cause and Effect.  Once you understand that, you'll reassure yourself that fate can only predicted by your actions today.  If I say your fate is to die of cancer and you believed it, your subconscious mind would start to attract situations, people, lifestyle and whatnot into physical reality that makes fate look credible.  Clearly mind over matter!
