What were/are your experiences with Reiki???

OKAY....I'VE ALWAYS BEEN VERY BIG ON NATURAL HEALTH AND NATURAL HEALING...I THINK IT'S WONDERFUL....BUT REIKI IS BRAND NEW TOO ME!!!  I HAVE SCHEDULED FOR A MASSAGE AND REIKI SESSION FOR JANUARY...I UNDERSTAND THE MASSAGE AND HOW IT WORKS BUT I HAVE MINIMAL UNDERSTANDING OF HOW REIKI WORKS...I'M A LITTLE NERVOUS ABOUT IT BECAUSE IT'S NEW TOO ME!!!  CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW REIKI HAS HELPED THEM ON AN NATURAL LEVEL AS FAR AS MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY!!!!

Years ago I was experiencing some pain in my knee, not sure what it was from but it was difficult to walk or put weight on it and I dreaded going to the hospital to see about it; anyway I knew this Asian sister who was studying to become a Reiki Master.  She would sit on the floor and meditate in front of me while doing deep breathing and told me to do the same to relax, then she would place her hands on my knee and continue with a sort of Yogic breathing and I could literally feel the energy from her hands to my knee - I felt immedite relief! and after one more sessions I had no pain.  There was a sort of side effect though - I felt really drained afterwards - All I wanted to do for a few days was sleep.  That concerned me -  But later someone told me that it wasn't unusual to fell that way after a Reiki healing.
