Okay, I am a big experimenter in foods, I test things out and see how my body responds, and which foods give me the most energy and keep me feeling cool to do what I am here to do. Well one things I have noticed is things like, brown rice, black beans, a lot of veggie burgers, bottle juices, and such and such that are being sold really do not help me on a health level.

The best things I have noticed are: fruit smoothies, FRESH vegetables juices like Kale, Carrot, Beet (with some agave), FRESH salads, with FRESH lettuce, I love Romain lettuce.. and spring water really help to empower my body. Oh yeah and add onto that list seaweeds, and certain cleansing herbs. And of course fresh fruits, but mostly tropical fruits, that really appeal to my African genetic make-up (Sebi talks a lot about this also).

Not to long ago I went to one of these health food stores and really just got some trashy ass so called health items. I got Sunshine burgers, some waffles, some cereal, brown rice &beans, just to see how they felt, and honestly I felt near terrible, or not in my usual self dealing with those things.

I don't know what it is about some of these over cooked/proccessed foods, that even though they are not meat, dairy, sugar laden shit, they still don't give me what I am looking for. Is this just me or do yah'll have the same issues?

Yep. I feel you 100%. About a month or two ago, I really got into a lot of processed foods mainly because they are so quick and easy. I felt.....cloudy. Like not all quite there. I just wasn't feeling one hundred, and I saw a ceasation in my growth (spiritual, mental, emotional). You see, I'm not sure about everyone else, but when I first changed my diet to vegan a few years ago, I saw tremendous growth in those areas. From seemingly nowhere. My interests changed, and I 'saw' more invisble benefits than physical. Now I did go back and forth with SAD for a while, and finally vegan about 6 months ago, and with every change in diet, I saw a change in the other areas.

Back to the subject, I've really been trying to be concious about eating more fresh raw foods lately. I have to figure out how to work that out time wise, b/c most raw dishes have to be eaten immediately, or damn near. I've been letting people taste test my raw foods from restaraunts to tell me what's in them (LOL), but no luck yet. If I could fix something every couple of days, that would be ideal. My biggest issue is convenience.

Them sunshine burgers and Peace Cereal's Maple Pecan crisp cereal be out this world!  I ALWAYS feel much better if I eat a raw dish compared to something heavy like a cooked meal but I think the best thing to do is to take some digestive enzymes like papain or bromelaine and take them after eating.  I try to do this but usually don't lol:  Have a smoothie or at least fruit with breakfast like fruit with pancakes or cereal, Something raw in lunch like mostly raw ingredients on a sandwich and then usually my dinner be mostly cooked since If I'm at work I just go to WF right next to my job and buy a little sandwich or small meal.

True that, some of the vegan products are tasty, my favorite now like was suggested is this spicy sunshine burger with the Ezekial bread, but I can't eat that shit everyday, or regularly, maybe a couple times a week, as the things that build me up the most are Raw alive electric foods. Maybe its because I am still in the process of cleansing and building my different bodies (physical, energetic), so I am only speaking for myself. With the pancakes especially (in the morning), they really slow me down, I rather have some tea, fruits and maybe a raw bar.

There are some great health foods stores here in Atlanta so I have no problem picking up some good raw shit that get me started, plus with school and getting into certtain information I deal with I have to keep my mind sharp.

Like Horu said, I like things that are quick and easy to make. But what better then grabbing a salad or some fruit? lol!

Thanks for yah'll input.

I do understand what you mean also Tyab. The processed foods are essentially dead, so not really providing any real nutrition for us. We pretty much are going to feel like what we put in our body. I've also found that just because they sell it in my local health food store doesn't necessarily mean EVERYTHING in there is it's ALL good for me, especially going down those middle isles: i.e. "healthy vegan oreo cookies", "healthy potato chips", etc etc. Same stuff, different package with "organic" or "vegan" tacked on. I usually kick in in the produce and bulk isles.

I do notice a difference as well when I try certain processed foods and try to keep them to a minimum. I'm going to start experimenting with raw foods & my new dehydrator when time permits...hopefully find some good options for those processed items like raw crackers, cookies, raw burgers etc etc....
