I re-watched Dead Poets Society last night and I must say that this was Robin Williams best performance ever (along with maybe "The World According to Garp").

I higly recommend this movie to anybody interested in free thinking, freedom to express one's creativity, bucking tradition, and carpe deim (seize the day) - doing something extraordinary with your life.

This movie also shows the dangers of institutionalized tradition and conformity, especially when compelled upon us.

This is a great movie that deals with "following your heart's desire" even against tradition.

Rent it and check it out! It's really good! 5 star rating!!!!

I agree.  This is a great movie and probably the best performance by Robin Williams.  I was suprised at his ability to portray his character in the manner in which he did because in interviews he is always trying to crack a joke acting foolish.  I didn't know he had it in him.
