What’s the big deal about this book?  We used to sell it at our bookstore back in the day and it was pretty well received by certain readers.  (Note: This wasn’t no Westernized version of the text, it was the real deal, translated to English.)

I decided to read it one day and I was thoroughly unimpressed.  I was like the character Tony Montana in “Scarface,” at dinner when he said, “Is this it? Is this what it's all about…? Eating, Drinking, Fucking, Sucking… Snorting? Then what?”  I mean, the bark was bigger than the bite (although biting was covered  Smiley ).

Anybody else read this book?  If so, can you tell me what grown folks are getting out of it?  Am I missing something here?  It seems to me that the mystique is from its origins and the fact that it’s ancient text.  If someone here (in the West) were to write a version of it today, I am not sure it would be viewed the same way.

If you look at it through a prism you will only get the visible light spectrum.
If you look at with and open openness you will see the full electromagnetic spectrum

If you look upon the surface of the water you will only see the icecap
if you look beneath the surface you will see the rest of the iceberg.

That is the way it was made
so that only the worthy would understand and benefit

You can't see it on just the surface, or look at it with a closed mind.
open up and let the book speak to you instead of just reading it.

Yes, this is correct.  However, I would never assume someone has failed to open their mind just because they find a piece of work overrated that many others seem to be gaga over.  My question is simply, what are adults learning (for the first time) from this book?

I agree with you Kim, its some watered down shit that they concocted and threw out there. It don't really let out the secrets, just pictures, talk and a bunch of mess in my version. I'll stick with studying the ancient art of tantra and orgasmic science.
