Why are so many people attracted to it? Even in Japan animation is one of the most popular forms of entertainment, next to porn LOL. So why is animation so popular?

It's all escapism, it all about activating that fantasy in your mind, so when they hit y'all with that project Blue Beam Messiah...It'll all seem real.

I don't agree that its all escapism, I like watching some animated movies just for the story line. Its like any other entertainment, such as a regular movie or something. Usually, fantasy portrayed in the movies just plays out what humans think and feel in the "real world". Its like someone watching the avatar series, the series is cool and has a lot of underlying meanings for me to decipher.

I agree tyab14. If anime is escapism, then where do we stop? That would make every thing escapisnm. That's what's wrong with black people, they like to put limits on shit. For example: my grandpa caught me on a metaphysical site, and this niggas said some dumb shit like are you on sites like that because your insecure. I was like WTF
Nigga I'm ion sites like this because I wanna know the truth. WTF should we be doing? living in and loving the ugly ass matrix cycles, and be miserable like you.

That's what I'm saying. When my gramps told me that i looked @ the nigga like you fuckin' weirdo geek. And then niggas wonder why other races are laughing their asses off at us. Maybe more niggas should go into seclusion. To be honest niggas already aint the best lookin' race. And how do we compensate? We act like we know what's up.....smh @ dumb niggas

I didn't mean it like that. I knew some of yall would get offended. When I say we aint the best lookin' I'm talking about those ugly faggot ass lokking, big girl earing waring know-it-all block niggas, not the real black man, which are rare nowadays. You know what type of niggas I'm talkin' about. Not the niggas on here that's for sure. You dig?

Its funny how when you associate words with a bad thing you automatically do not atatch it to a good thing.
like polythieism -bad
great-good
awesome -good
escapism - bad
when in reality the definitions of these words do not limit them to being either good or bad
Like I could say that there was a great destruction in the land
or My medetative exercise was one bordering on the practice of escapism
and now here in this thread we have completely ignored the idea of the fact that Animation
(which isn't real) is definitely escapism, just like CERTAIN TYPES of meditation in CERTAIN INSTANCES
because meditation is definetely not all about escaping anywhere if you do it right but more about becoming increasingly aware of everything.
people who meditate to escape have to have escaping in mind
people who meditate to meditate must do the opposite of escape.
