You can combine foods for a complete amino acid profile but aside from flesh, vegetable and semi-vegetable sources are:

* Algae - Spirulina, Chlorella, Blue-Green, Brown, etc.
* Brewer's Yeast (Why this SUPER food isn't used to end world hunger is beyond me!)
* Brown Rice and Beans/Legumes
* ANY Whole Grain (ex spelt, brown/wild/bismati rice, oats, corn, barley, rye, millet, wheat, etc) combined with any Legume/Vegetable/Nut/Seed

It's not necessary to eat complete proteins in a meal, so long as you get the ESSENTIAL amino acids, the body will synthesize the rest. This all depends on your specific goals when eating.

Most people just eat with no intentions of a specific goal in mind but scientific eating is always based on a desired outcome (i.e. fat loss, muscle growth, maintenance, energy, vitality, deficiency rectifying, fortification, regeneration, death, etc).

The essential amino acids are:

* L-Arginine
* L-Histidine
* L-isoleucine
* L-Leucine
* L-Lysine
* L-Methionine
* L-Phenylalanine
* L-Threonine
* L-Tryptophan
* L-Valine
