Yes, your wonderful Golden State is pursuing a ballot that if passed will charge all home-owners in the State of California a $50 flat tax for California schools.

The tax will not hurt the rich home-owners but the poor home-owners whom are already overtaxed. A 1-bedroom homeowner in Reseda, California will pay the same amount as a 23-bedroom mansion owner in Beverly Hills, California.

While it seems like a good measure because it purports to help California schools, but I thought the California Lottery was supposed to help the schools way back in the mid-1980s when California went against its Organic Constitution of 1849 and instituted the first state lottery? The California Lottery has brought in billions of dollars since it was instituted.

Why tax the home-owners in California when the federal government is blowing hundreds of billions of dollars in a war killing innocent people in the Middle East? It seems more intelligent to end the war in the Middle East and spend the war money on American schools, especially here in California where California ranks 50th in overall national academic performance.

Naw, that will NEVER happen. Politicians are too out of control today and the American people are too cowardly to put their politicians and leaders in check.

I think it's safe to say that Californians should get ready to pay an additional $50 per year.

This is the price you pay for tyrannical government that you wilfully and voluntarily support.
