Day 3

What up Dherbers,

I woke up this morning at 5:30 because my 13 month old son doesn’t understand the concept of sleeping until at least 7 a.m. yet. We got up and immediately started the day the way we normally do before I wake up my daughter; watching SportsCenter. Already, I think he understands the concept of sports. He watches intently as if he’s checking to see if his favorite teams covered the spread. lol Which of course makes Dad proud.

After getting the kids together and doing drop-offs at school, I went to a couple of much anticipated meetings. During each, I was periodically taking out of my computer bag raw snacks to graze on. It always makes me laugh to see people’s reactions when you pull out an Ziplock bag to eat from. Almost as if it’s sacrilege. Needless to say that I ate anyway and then fielded subsequent questions: What are you eating? Is this a new diet? Are you trying to lose weight or just cleanse? All of which I politely answered “None of your freakin’ business!” lol (kidding of course)

Amazing my focus is always better when I eat this way and use my herbs. Almost as if my body and mind are finally working together.

Well that’s all. Until tomorrow. Peace!

BREAKFAST- Smoothie with apples, bananas, blueberries, raspberry’s, and flax seed.

LUNCH - Strawberry and spinach salad, with strawberries, spinach, paprika, topped with sesame seeds.

DINNER- Mixed medley of steamed vegetables, broccoli, carrots, green beans, and cauliflower

SNACK- Fruit and raw nuts.

And of LOTS OF WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 2

What up Dherbers,

Its my second day on the detox, and its extremely refreshing to have my wife preparing most of my meals. She has completed the Full Body Cleanse several times and is quite familiar with menu choices. My main concern is will I have enough will power to resist what the family is eating, rather than what I must to eat. I start my day with a smoothie. I deiced to make smoothie’s for everybody this morning. (If you can’t beat them, put them on your team.) (LOL) My daughter thinks she’s having some sort of ice cream shake for breakfast.

I have a meeting before lunch, I will be out of the house until this afternoon. I’m glad I took the time to have breakfast. I’m sure I will be fine until lunch, which will be brown rice and vegetable stir-fry (not too much rice though). UMMM, seems like the best part of the cleanse so far has been being able to dictate to my wife what I would like for lunch, most of the time she does the dictating. All jokes aside, she’s making this a lot easier than I thought it would be. Its afternoon and I am in full “daddy” mode got one taking a nap, and one on the way home from school. Even though we have help in the afternoons we are pretty much hands on parents. This means I must be energized and ready to chase a 1 year old around the house. I am feeling great no prolonged episodes to the restroom yet!!!

BREAKFAST- Smoothie with blueberries, bananas, strawberries, and hemp seed.

LUNCH - Small bowl of brown rice with my favorite veggies stir-fry broccoli, green beans , and carrots.

SNACKS - cashews, brazilian nuts and dried cranberries always.

Day 1

What up Dherbers,

This is DONDRÉ or affectionately known to my family and friends as Big Dré since the birth of my son DRÉ TERRELL WHITFIELD. He just had his first birthday on Sunday. What up Lil Dré!!!

I started my Total Male Cleanse on Monday and this afternoon, which is day 1, I’m feeling like “not so big DRÉ”. lol (I am longing to have turkey and a baked sweet potato!) Food plays such an important part in our lives and if you’re not careful it can become more than just sustenance. Often, we can slip into bouts of eating because we’re bored and moreover, using foods as a comfort for life’s struggles. Both are bad but the latter certainly presents more potential long term weight problems. You can actually become addicted to food.

Truthfully, I was not raised with a very good template for nutrition and eating habits. I often battle with myself about what I’m using food for. It’s a lot easier to do when I see that my kids look to me to show them the way. My intake of toxic foods has dropped dramatically. There are however, times when I’m human and have some “sinful food”. lol (turkey burgers, fries, etc,) But now those things are in moderation and generally meals in our home are supremely healthy and nutritious. Along with being a good example for my kids, I am further encouraged to eat well due to my family’s propensity to have high cholesterol levels. This battle has certainly helped in the way of policing my health choices to enable life longevity.

So there you have it. A little history about myself and my food relationship. lol Headed to the gym to get in my workout. But first I have to remove my magnet and meditate to get centered.

(Shout to all the men who are man enough to put their health in prospective! Sometimes we feel like it’s more masculine to eat like a caveman. We have got to make eating right and being health conscious kool. OUR FAMILIES NEED US!!!!)

BREAKFAST - Smoothie with blueberries and bananas along with hemp seed.

LUNCH - Huge salad. “The Big Dreezy”:
Romaine lettuce, broccoli, carrots, dried cranberries, walnuts, fresh clementine slices, coconuts shavings and pomegranate/blueberry dressing (damn dats good). Variety is key when you’re going raw. You’ll feel full and you’re palate will never be bored.

DINNER - raw lasagna meal from whole foods

SNACKS - cashews, Brazilian nuts and dried cranberries always. I love em.

WATER……….WATER……….WATER……….lol PEACE!

DRÉ

Day 20

For many today is the last day of the detox, for Aida the beginning of a new lifestyle. Instead of thinking what I was going to eat, I thought about how I was going to eat from here on out. The regimen that the Full Body Detox offered, kept me in line, but finding what to do now without the restrictions had me a bit frustrated. I ate vegetables all day and felt more energetic than yesterday. I am thankful for this experience and what it will be the cause for in my life…I am committed, more disciplined, energetic and a lot more clear and decisive. I was able to say “No” three times today and it felt good. This experience has fed me all along while I was thinking that I wasn’t eating. I will do it again. Eat well, and be well my friends.

Saturdays are my favorite days, and they have always been since I was a kid. I ate all fruit today and tomorrow I want to end with vegetables, I want to see how they make me feel. And today I had lots of energy in the morning, but at night I slowed down. I traveled to Arizona for the day and had the most amazing salad. Today, I so enjoyed my solitude! I spent my day reading and revisiting with The Four Agreements…I had a great day and was cool up until I got off stage and they had potato skins with cheese and bacon waiting for me, so I flipped out a little, but I was able to regroup and express myself diplomatically. I had cantaloupe for dinner, but I was a bit sluggish. Tomorrow, I will end with the green stuff.

Another Friday is here and knowing that I am almost done is exciting. I feel good and I know that I am looking better. I actually hiked with ease today, and moved around so much that the day slipped past me. Everyone keeps asking if I have a new man, funny how people attribute women’s happiness to penis. I actually have not been engaging with anyone sexually for some time now and I certainly won’t do it during this time. I feel great and I am kind of nice these days, too. I performed at a Haiti Relief benefit today and did some new cerebral jokes, I feel myself hitting my real stride where being smart and funny is possible and happening!
