Day 4

March 8, 2009

I begin my day with my morning routine of bathing/soaking and getting dressed. Belize (the condition of the people and the living conditions of the land) put a lot on my mind so I consciously send loving energy to the people of that country.

At Deck 9 (Wind Jammer restaurant) I eat my usual breakfast: a big plate of watermelon. It’s sweet and juicy just how I like it! But today we are in Costa Maya, Mexico and my tour starts at 8:30 a.m. After eating breakfast I go to my cabin and get my bag of goodies (pumpkin seeds, cashews, water, and the book “The Law of Attraction”) and head to the pier. The waters off the coast of Costa Maya are absolutely beautiful. I saw why they are called “turquoise water” because they are beautiful turquoise color. Absolutely beautiful.

At the pier while waiting for our tour guide, I confabulate with a few people about health. The tour guide (Mario) comes and instructs us about the tour. We walk to our tour bus and get on board and head out on the streets of beautiful Costa Maya.

Mario gives us much valuable information about the jungle, especially surviving in the jungle. He points out the difference between poisonous herbs and medicinal herbs. He educates us about the Native Mayan people and their shamans. He gives us pieces of the first chewing gum, chicle, to hold; as well as some resin of copal to smell. Mario is very knowledgeable in the ways of the ancient Mayan people.

We learn so much and see so much. Costa Maya is a very beautiful place. It suffered during Hurricane Katrina so a lot of redevelopment is taking place there. The houses are small but beautiful. The beach is unique with white sand. I could see myself vacationing there for about a week.

After about 45 minutes of touring via street we come to a beautiful little private beach were we are given 45 minutes to relax on the beach. I get engaged again on health with a few women while at the beach. We have a very fascinating conversation.

After about an hour (yes, we went overboard on the time because we enjoyed it so much) we head for the shopping district where we get to shop. I purchased T-shirts for my children, a few beautiful and exquisite crystals necklaces for myself and my wife - I bought a quartz necklace, rose quartz necklace, turquoise necklace, and a lapis lazuli necklace. I also bought my wife some beautiful hematite earrings as she’s always looking for hematite earrings. Well, I find a few pair there at Costa Maya. You can do some great shopping in Costa Maya! Especially if you like jewelry and crystals.

We end up back at the pier around 1 p.m. I eat lunch and engage in conversation for a few hours (yes, I did A LOT of confabulating during this cruise).

Around 4 p.m., I attend a special VIP gathering hosted by Ms. Cathy Hughes, owner of Radio One and TV One. The reception is awesome! I met Dewey Hughes (whom the movie “Talk To Me” is based on), took a bunch of pictures with Cathy Hughes, Jackie Neal, President of Glory Foods, and a bunch of other people. I also met other personnel of Radio One. I met a lot of people at this VIP reception. It was so many people there. I had a good time!

Gospel singer Donnie McClurkin preached a great general sermon. Not only is he a singer, but he’s also a minister. Actually, every great gospel singer there was a qualified minister, from Yolanda Adams to Smoky Norful. Shirley Caesar is even REVEREND Shirley Caesar and rightfully so.

After the reception I ate dinner on Deck 9 whereby I meet and have an awesome conversation with Bishop Charles E. Bond. He’s an awesome minister and skilled in The Word. Because we are of the same generation we can vibe with each other. It was a great conversation! He was a testimonial that there are still some rock solid Christian ministers out there who truly preach the word of God from the Bible without getting lost in it or punch drunk from it. The brother is very grounded and well versed and can relate to modern times and especially the situation with Black youth. It was a real pleasure meeting and dialoguing with him. It really was. I never met a minister like him! He was awesome! he was real and raw, as we say on the streets.

After dinner I retire to my cabin where I watch the movie “The Talented Mr. Ripley” starring Matt Damon and Jude Law. About an hour later after watching the movie and reflecting on my experiences of the day, I retired to the astral world for sound physical sleep (body rest).
