Djehuty blogs about his experience speaking on the Radio One’s One Love Gospel Cruise:

Well, today is March 5, 2009 and Radio One’s One Love Gospel Tour sets sail today. I checked out of my hotel in Tampa, where I had a nice stay, around 12 noon, and took a cab to the Tampa International Airport. There was big caravan bus waiting to take us from the airport to the port in Tampa. Check in for the cruise at the port was smooth and easy and everybody at the port was kind, helpful, and very courteous which I greatly appreciated. I took my security photo, was issued my Royal Carribean sea pass, and entered the ship (Grandeur of the Seas), a very elegant ocean liner I must say. I went to Deck 9 and ate my only meal for the day, a delectable garbanzo bean salad. I still had vegan snacks left over from my California to Florida trip which carried me through the evening and the night. After I ate I came to my cabin and found my luggae waiting for me by the door. I entered my cabin and looked around. The cabin was very nice indeed. Just like a hotel room and replete with everything you need to relax, plus, a nice view of the ocean.

I didn’t intermingle on Day 1 as I wanted to just chill in my cabin. I bought myself a nice portable DVD player before I left for Florida and so therefore I was equipped to really enjoy myself because I’m a movie man and I brought about 20+ movies (DVDs) with me.

Before I settled down to watch a movie, I spoke with my wife and my children via cell phone. I also spoke to A.D. just to check in and see how things were going in Cali and with Dherbs.com. All was well! A.D. said Dherbs.com was very busy with activity, our norm now (thanks to the people who believe in us and are spreading the words about us). After confabulating for some minutes, I began my movie “A Raisin in the Sun” starring Sidney Poiter.

After the movie, I fell asleep. I slept okay, only okay, as you could feel the ship rocking throughout the night unlike at home or in a hotel. But still, my bed was nice and cozy and I got a very relaxing night of sleep, despite the slight rocking of the boat in the wee hours of the night.
