Day 8

Hello everyone! Samantha here with another update on my Detox situation as promised. Today I had a little bit of highs and a little bit of lows. Let’s start with the morning (my highs). I woke up and took my first set of pills and then got ready for work. When I was in the car I had a banana and some water. The traffic this morning was pretty clear (I guess everyone was afraid of the rain and stayed home). I got to work on time and I made it all the way through my work day on just a banana and an orange that I had for lunch.

Later on when I got home is when the lows started in on me. All day I wasn’t hungry but when I get home all of a sudden I’m hungry and all the fruit and veggies aren’t helping any. So I decide to distracted my mind from it; changed my focus. It worked, I started to do some house work and to clean. My mind didn’t think about food for one second. So that led me to believe that my hunger pangs were all in my mind; that I wasn’t really hungry, my mind was playing tricks on me. Hmm, I wonder does that mean I can’t trust my own mind anymore? Hahaha!

After I took my last pill of the night I had a light salad because I really wasn’t all that hungry anymore and then I did some homework. My salad was a garden salad (I know I eat a lot of those but it seems to be the only salad I really enjoy to eat and it does the job). I just wonder after my Detox is over how do I incorporate what I learned into my life? Because I, just like a lot of other people, won’t be satisfied eating raw foods for the rest of my life or even vegan foods, so how do we intertwine the two eating habits – the old with the new?

I am now on my 7th day. I also am finding that I am not hungry during the day. I have to remind myself to eat. But need a change in selections. I brought some fresh collards today. I think I will try a new vegetable tomorrow. How about some squash! Hang in there girlfriend.
