What Does Remission Really Mean?
By ad | August 20, 2008
When I think of the word remission in terms of disease, I think that it means the disease has temporarily disappeared. However, many people believe that remission is another way of being “cured” of a disease. In a recent Dherb’s article titled “The Fraud of Remission” it states that remission is by no means healing. The disease is still present:
Disease is either present or absent. You’re either healthy or unhealthy. You either have cancer or you don’t (despite having a few cancerous cells). You either have diabetes or you don’t. Anybody can be a candidate for any disease by virtue of their diet, lifestyle, and thought process; but being a candidate for something and being the something are two different things. They are not equal.
It’s important to understand what remission really means and why it is used in the medical field. The drug industry is big business and treating disease rather than working on healing is what brings in the money. Read the article below and share your thoughts in the comments. I’m sure you will be enlightened!
