Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is basically a condition of suffocating repeatedly in your sleep.

Sleep apnea is medically defined as: "A sleep disorder characterized by periods of an absence of attempts to breathe. The person is momentarily unable to move respiratory muscles or maintain airflow through the nose and mouth." Mosby's Medical Dictionary, 3rd edition, pg. 87

"Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is by far the most common reason people are studied overnight in a sleep lab. It's pretty scary-sounding problem. For it to qualify as OSA, a person must stop breathing (the definition of apnea) for at least ten seconds, a minimum of five times per hour throughout the night. Yet this is not a deadly problem by itself. Why? When you fall asleep, the muscles around your upper airway relax, which narrows down the respiratory passages. That is fine for most people. Your upper airway will remain open enough to allow air to pass through to the lungs and back out uneventfully. However, if you have OSA, your respiratory passages collapse and become too constricted during sleep, and airflow stops completely (apnea) or partially (hypopnea). Most times with sleep apnea, your breathing will stop for 10 to 30 seconds, though it may go on for more than a minute. Your blood saturation will likely decline as you cease to breathe. But the problem is easily solved as the oxygen-deprived brain sounds an alarm - the arousal trigger - forcing you to wake up, jolting the upper airway to open up and allow proper airflow to resume; you stay alive and then immediately resume sleep, and soon the abnormal apnea process repeats itself. Of course, this "solution" has an obvious drawback: You're waking up briefly ("arousing" 50 or 100 times per night (or per hour), and repeated disruption of sleep has major consequences, such as chronic sleep deprivation and daytime sleepiness." - Carlos H. Schenck, M.D.

Symptoms of sleep apnea include:

Snoring

Gasping or choking for air during sleep

Labored breathing and snorting sounds during sleep

Repeated cessation of breathing during sleep

Nocturia (frequent need to urinate at night)

Unrefreshing sleep

Dry mouth on awakening

Daytime sleepiness

Depression or irritability

Impaired concentration and/or memory

High blood pressure

Metaphysically, sleep apnea denotes:

" ... a feeling of anguish about whether the next episode will be your last. It is important to determine when the interrupted breathing took place. Since it usually happens while at rest, this indicates that life has been cut off (oxygen) and rest is being held back (carbon dioxide)."

Furthermore,

"If you suffer from sleep apnea while you're resting, you need to undergo an attitude adjustment and learn to relax. Do you feel that you are no longer alive when you're resting or inactive? If apnea occurs while you are at work, you may want to ask yourself the same question relating to your job." - Lise Bourbeau

The best remedy for sleep apnea is to first perform the Full Body Detox (FBD) so as to reboot the body, to refresh the body.

I also recommend performance of the Lungs and Respiratory Cleanse (LRC) upon completion of the FBD. You can wait 3, 5, 7, 10, 14, or 21 days after completion of the FBD to perform this cleanse which helps reboot and refresh the lungs which is needed in cases of sleep disorders.

After performance of the FBD and LRC, undergo a daily regimen of MSM Sulfur (taking 6 capsules or 1 tablespoon (w/ a little orange juice) before going to bed each night), Nerves Tea (drinking one cup of the tea 30-60 minutes before bedtime), Lungs and Respiratory Formula (3 capsules per day), and inhaling the Dream Aid Inspirant a few times within 1-2 hours of retiring to bed.

Do not eat heavy meals before bedtime. Heavy and large meals should be eaten between 5-7 p.m. Refrain from eating after 7:00 p.m.

If you drink alcohol, immediately put an end to this practice if you are wise. Despite the fact that millions of people drink this substance, it is a poison! That's why it's called and known as an 'intoxicant.'

intoxicant |inˈtäksikənt|noun. An intoxicating substance.

intoxicate |in'täksikāt|verb [ trans. ] [usu. as adj. ] ( intoxicated) (of alcoholic drink or a drug) cause (someone) to lose control of their faculties or behavior. • poison. ORIGIN late Middle English (in the sense [poison] ): from medieval Latin intoxicare, from in- 'into' + toxicare 'to poison,' from Latin toxicum (see toxic ).

toxic |'tä|adjective. poisonous : the dumping of toxic waste | alcohol is toxic to the ovaries. • of or relating to poison : toxic hazards. • caused by poison : toxic liver injury. ORIGIN mid 17th cent.: from medieval Latin toxicus 'poisoned,' from Latin toxicum 'poison,' from Greek toxikon (pharmakon) '(poison for) arrows,' from toxon 'bow.'

If you are obese (overweight), you really need to consider becoming serious about losing (releasing) weight. Please read our e-article "Secrets of Effective Weight Loss" which genuinely and properly educate you on how to successfully and effectively rid the body of excess weight (fat, fatty fluids).

If you unwisely smoke, you need to quit smoking like yesterday! Smoking is for fools and offers not an iota of nutritional benefit. Like alcohol, it too is an intoxicant (poison). It's a real stupid thing to do and no one needs to smoke cigarettes, as all human beings are capable of living without smoking. It is not necessary to smoke in order to exist on planet Earth.

Smoking only exists (despite how unhealthy and deadly it is) because the tobacco industry makes billions of dollars off the deadly product and habit and government benefits from this deadly market from the tax dollars it receives from the sell of each pack of cigarettes. The tobacco industry and government love the kill and that's exactly what cigarette smoking does: KILL!

Hundreds of thousands of people die each year from this unwise, unhealthy, and deadly habit and practice. Cigarette smoking greatly impairs respiratory function that play a major role in our process of breathing which is important during sleep hours because even though we're sleep, we're still breathing and still must breath. So why impair this function by smoking cigarettes?

No matter how challenging, eliminate stress from your life. It is sabotaging your health. There is no healthy and rewarding incentive in stress. It is unnatural and healthy. If stress results from your job then you are working the wrong job and/or perhaps in the wrong line of work or wrong field of work. Learn what your life's higher purpose is and seek to get into.

Make sure the bed in your room is facing or in the direction of North, harmonizing with the earth's magnetic field which is conducive to salubrious health and sleep. Adding a magnetic mattress or bed pad to your bed would also be helpful in this case.

You may also try sleeping with your head lower than your feet (they sell beds that recline) which allows more oxygen to travel to your brain, or, you may also try sleeping without a pillow and your head flat on the bed keeping your head and feet balanced. Sleeping with your head and neck arched on a pillow could cause obstructions in your breathing while sleep.

Performing your life's higher purpose as your way of making a living allows you to live your making and be happier and thus healthier in life. Please read our e-book Discovering Your Life's Higher Purpose to at least start you thinking in this direction of getting off into your life's higher calling as a possible occupation or way for you to earn money to support yourself in all of your worldly needs.
