It is reported that on or about April 1st, 2011, herbs, vitamins and supplements will be officially criminalized and banned in the United Kingdom and across the EU, all thanks to the Traditional Herbal Medicine Products Directive (THMPD), Directive 2004/24/EC.
 Basically, people will now need a license in order to sell herbs, and we should all know what the term "license" means from a legal perspective, right? A license legally means PERMISSION granted by a competent authority to do something otherwise illegal without the license (or permission). So, without having a license to sell certain herbs, the act of selling certain herbs will be illegal and all because Big Brother said so.
According to Natural News.com, "The licensing requirements, however, were intentionally designed to make sure that virtually no herbs could ever meet them. It costs from $125,000.00 to $180,000.00 to license a single herb with the EU, and since herbs cannot be patented and don't have the monopolistic pricing found in pharmaceuticals, there's simply not enough profit margin in most herbs to justify such huge expenditures from any one company."
I agree with the Natural News article, because there is really no huge profits to be made with plants (herbs). After all, you can't patent a plant. That's why drug companies began to make synthetic versions of natural plant alkaloids, because they could patent them and own the rights to them. Plants (herbs) were the precursors to all man-made drugs. Codeine came from Wild Cherry Bark. Cocaine came from Coca Leaf (and yes, Coca-Cola the soft drink used to contain cocaine). Marinol comes from Marijuana. Quinine came from Dogwood. Heroin came from Poppy. Aspirin came from Asparea (or Meadowsweet). Diosgenin (birth control) came from Wild Yam Root and so on and so on.
The first drug was dried plant. In fact, our English word "drug" derives from an Old French word, 'Drogue' which meant "dried plant." The dried herb was the first drug and it was this first drug - the herb, that was said to be for the healing of the nations (Revelation 22:2), as medicine (Ezekiel 47:12), and for the service of man (Psalm 104:14).
Personally, I'm not shocked at the sinister Traditional Herbal Medicine Products Directive (THMPD), Directive 2004/24/EC, because major governments are mostly in the back pockets of major corporations and industries anyway. Big Pharma has much pull and clout with major governments of the world, especially in Europe and Northern America.

Now before I take a more personal slant at the Traditional Herbal Medicine Products Directive (THMPD), Directive 2004/24/EC, I would like to list a few of the herbs that are about to be banned in Europe. These herbs include, but are not limited to:
Ashwagandha
Cascara Sagrada
Pau D' Arco
Scullcap
Horny Goat Weed
Ashwagandha is an Ayurvedic herb that has been around for hundreds of years and is a very potent and effective herb for the brain and sexual reproductive system and glands, especially for the male. As of to date, no one has ever died from consumption of this noble herb and yet in still, in four months it will be banned in Europe.
Cascara Sagrada is the second most effective laxative herb around, ranking only second to African Senna leaf. Cascara Sagrada is a potent laxative and helps to cleanse the liver and also kill and expel certain parasites and worms. This herb (called 'Sacred bark' by Native Americans) has been used for centuries and is very effective in healing all colon disorders and diseases, especially constipation; and to date, no one has ever been killed by consumption of this herb, yet in still, it will soon be banned in Europe.
Pau D' Arco, a potent immune boosting and blood cleansing Rainforest herb, amongst its many therapeutic properties, can be used for over 100 ailments. It has been used for countless centuries by Native Americans as a revered herbal, and to date, no one has ever been killed by this herb and yet, within four months, it too will be banned in Europe.
Scullcap is a pretty effective herb with moderate to mild nervine properties. It is great for depression and insomnia. While it has never killed anyone, in four months, it will be banned in Europe.
Horny Goat Weed (also known as Epimedium) is a well known Traditional Chinese Medicine herbal used mostly for boosting the male and female libido and stamina. It naturally and safely helps to enhance the sex life of human beings. But yet, while it has never caused death to anyone, in four months it too will be banned in Europe.
Okay, anytime initiatives and Draconian and sinister measures such as Traditional Herbal Medicine Products Directive (THMPD), Directive 2004/24/EC pass or come into effect, Dherbs.com is flooded with emails (inquiries) with concerned individuals asking for my personal view of the matter (I think most people who know me or who have heard of me or have read much of what I have written over the years know I pretty much have something to say about nearly everything, especially when it comes to health, healing, and herbs).
 Well, my position on the Traditional Herbal Medicine Products Directive (THMPD), Directive 2004/24/EC is this: the people of Europe and soon the United States (yes, the United States is next), are getting absolutely what they deserve. You see, people believe in government and government leaders whom THEY elect into office and thus elect into positions of mundane power, and what do the dumb voting masses of the world get in return for their vote (and choosing to participate in the fraud called government and Democracy)? Answer: More loss of rights, be they basic rights or any other type or kind of rights. Democracy really means "mob rule" and this can be substantiated. The people willfully and freely participate in mobsters ruling over the society and nation as well as the world.
Dherbs does not fault the medical industry or the governments of Europe or any other country, including the United States. It's so easy to get rid of Big Pharma. Just simply don't support it with your dollars. Don't patronize it! Take your health and wellbeing into your own hands. Become independent (by use of your mind). Big Pharma is a business and profits are the lifeblood of all businesses; so if you want to kill a business, just stop patronizing it and it will die a fast or slow death, depending on the size of the business.
Big Pharma brings in trillions of dollars per year and who do you think Big Pharma gets all this money from to stay in existence? Answer: dumb, lazy, fearful, frightened, dependent people (citizens) who trust in medical doctors and their medical cartel all because they are too damn lazy to take care of their own (and their family's) health and wellbeing, much less, to study up on their own health and wellbeing.
People don't want to be responsible and accountable anymore, especially for or over their own lives. So that's why when these political pimps that people vote for and really believe they/we need to govern us, pull the wool over our eyes and shaft us like the good obedient sheep(le) we are with certain draconian legislation like the Traditional Herbal Medicine Products Directive (THMPD), Directive 2004/24/EC. I don't or can't trip because people keep this bullshit and wickedness going and the greatest way they keep it going is by their ignorance or their decision to remain ignorant (as well as lazy and cowardly).
Listen, you cannot be ignorant in the midst of these people who run this world. They will eat your ass alive and without mercy. You MUST come up! You must educate yourself! You must become conscious! You must become proactive! You must become sovereign (self-ruled)! You must become mature! You must become responsible! You must become bold! You cannot be lazy and free at the same time, just as you can't be ignorant and free at the same time.
You have to take back your mind. It is yours and belongs to you.

The MHRA (UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency) has received 166 applications for herbal product licensing and has granted 78 so far. Do you see how this works? Now you must be "granted" a license in order to exercise your Natural Law right to engage in the free commerce of Mother Nature's plants. Big Government has stolen from European citizens their natural rights and is now condemning many of them to suffering or even death as a result.
That's how governments always work in the end: They expand their power at the expense of your freedom. The centralize control over your life while maximizing the profits of the powerful corporations that keep them in business. You're watching it happen right now across Europe, and if we don't put a stop to this, it will soon happen in the United States as well. It's already under way, in fact, with the FDA's outlawing of scientifically-validated free speech about nutritional supplements. There's also a war under way on raw milk, and need I even mention the decades-long war being waged against medical marijuana?
