You, I and everybody else are born with at least one Guardian angel. Some people have two Guardian angels and this may be due to their mission in life.
As angels are real (really exist), obviously guardian angels are also real. Your Guardian angel is invisible as it is a multi-dimensional being.
 Your Guardian angel can see things (circumstances) on Earth before they happen because from higher dimensions Earth speeds slowly and this allows other dimensional beings to see things (events, circumstances) on Earth before they actually happen or occur with those of us on Earth and in 3D bodies, and this is why our angels can divert us from harm's way if we listen to them.
One must be in-tune, receptive, and intuitive in order to clearly hear or receive messages from angels. Our angels can communicate with us in many ways and that's why we must be open to the various ways in which angels and spirit guides and other beings communicate with us.
We must be open to intuition, psychic abilities, dreams, etc. because our angels communicate to us through these mediums.
Intuition, psychic ability, and dreams are portals to different and higher dimensions whereby we are receptive to information given on these planes or dimensions.
The Rulers of the Matrix know this and thus seek to shut and keep us shut down to these levels (dimensions) so as to keep us controlled here on Earth (the Matrix).
Because of what many people eat (meat, dairy products, junk food/fast food), drink (liquor or alcohol, coffee, lattes, soda pop, Kool Aid, etc.), and smoke (e.g. cigarettes, cigars), and do (as far as activity and behavior), they don't dream at all or if they do, they can't recall their dreams.
 In addition, they are not as intuitive as they could be, so these people miss out on many messages sent from on high. These messages are usually answers to prayers. God always hears your prayers regardless of how you pray. With God there is no formal or specific way of praying and it really doesn't matter how you pray (physically speaking, that is) as long as you pray, that is if you believe in prayer.
Personally, these days I do not pray and haven't prayed in nearly 10 years as I understand how the Universe (and its laws) and the human mind (conscious and subconscious) work and I know how to summons my angels and spirit guides and these suffice for me over prayer.
 What I used to do as prayer has been switched to meditation as prayer is chatter, talking; and meditation is silence thus allowing me to hear God. If I pray, I am talking and I can't hear and talk at the same time. Listening is 90% of communication. So today, I think a lot (prayer for me) and I meditate (which allows me to hear and receive answers).
Again, I don't pray. I just offer up my desires (what I want and need) to the Universe and let Universal law work on my behalf. I also just ask my angels for any assistance I may need. If I need help in money matters I simply call on my money angels. If I need help in the area of love and romance I call on my romance angels. There exists a legion of angels and angels for every department of life here on Earth.
You don't have to know these angels' traditional names, e.g. Archangel Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, etc. as these are the names man on Earth have given to these angels so as to categorize and identify them. You can just simply call on them with your pure intention, e.g.:
"Money angels, please assist me in coming up with (or attracting) the remainder of my rent."
"Romance angels, please help me in healing my relationship or marriage."
"Healing angels, please help me in healing from this disease or injury."
However, specificity of names can greatly assist you in communicating with angels simply because you can associate their functions with their names which raises the vibration of the request (desire). But again, it (name calling) is not necessary to be helped by your angels. So don't put much strain and stress on yourself in this regard. The choice is totally up to you. If you want to learn more about historical names given to angels, there are plenty of books on the subject of angels (and their historical names) that you can purchase and study and learn from.
Many times I am asked, "If we all have angels on Earth with us how come so many people's lives are messed up?" You can't blame the angels for this. Though angels are here (present) and here to help us, angels understand and operate under principles of Divine and Universal Law including FREE WILL!
 Unlike religious people on Earth (who are always soliciting you), angels don't bother you. Angels only respond to your desires and requests. Basically, you must ask for their assistance before they help you. They do not violate our free will. For every single thing you could need, you must ask. Every thing or incident is isolated, and thus requires an individual request. You can ask or request verbally or silently (in your mind). Whether verbally or silently, the request is heard; and once you ask or request, that's it! You don't need to ask or request a second or third time (doing so will actually nullify the first or initial request or prayer).
It is always best to ask your Guardian angel to guard, protect, and guide you every time before you walk out of the door to leave your home or abode. In addition, you should always see (in your mind, with mind-sight) yourself arriving safely to your destination and safely back to your home. This is considered an intention experiment (also called "intentioning"). By doing this you are using the power of intention.
Develop an intimate relationship with your Guardian angel. Talk to your Guardian angel the way you'd do to a dear friend. I personally see my Guardian angel as looking just like me, though on the invisible plane. I choose to do this so as to develop a more intimate relationship with my Guardian angel.
If it is not your chosen time to die (based upon your application for a specific time to die as we all choose how and when we will die or transition), your Guardian angel will guard you out of harm, usually preventing you from going to some place where a tragedy is going to occur.
The Guardian angel is not violating your free will here because you specifically told the Guardian angel to do this particular thing before incarnating (though you don't remember).
 When certain people get killed, you must remember that an application for death (appointed time, place, and action/mode of dying) has been processed and it was the person's appointed time to transcend and there was nothing the Guardian angel could do to prevent the death. The time of death was chosen and the Guardian angel respects this and assists in the transitioning process.
Before a person actually dies, there were other times when the person could have died (been killed) before the appointed time but didn't die (or wasn't killed), and it was the Guardian angel that played a role in helping the person avert what could have been the untimely death of the person.
When we are reaching our appointed time of death (transition), death is in our aura and animals and little babies can see this as both can clearly see the human aura. When small babies are looking at you, their eyes aim slightly above eye contact with you because they are looking at your aura. Many times when babies cry at certain people it's because they see frightening things, e.g. attached entities, in the person's aura. They are not just afraid of the person - how the person looks. It's deeper than that many times.
On the day soul singer Sam Cook died (was murdered), friend singer Lou Rawls said when Sam Cooke came over to his house hours before he was to be murdered in a mob hit that was made to look like he was murdered by a Black motel manager (Bertha Franklin) in response to being in a rage and attacking her over some prostitute (Elisa Boyer), Rawls said his dog was quietly under his son's baby bed (crib) and his son was sleep in the bed. But when Cooke came over that fatal day and entered the child's room, the dog immediately left the room and the little baby woke up and started crying. Sam asked the baby, "What's wrong with you, man?"
That baby and dog saw and felt the presence of Sam Cooke that day, hours before he was killed. Sam simply reached his appointed time of death and his death was carried out. So even before all of the activity that went down before Sam was drugged, driven to South Central Los Angeles in his red Ferrari (by someone else), severely beaten, and then shot and killed, the aura of death was over the man.
When the aura of death is present, that energy (of your aura) attracts you to the circumstances that result in your physical death. This happens with everybody and happened with Michael Jackson, Malcolm X, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy, etc.
Conscious people, those in tune or somewhat in tune with their higher spiritual selves, can feel the aura of death they emit before they die. That's why they allude to death shortly before it happens. They may talk about being tired (their soul is tired), how they've come to the end of their road, how they've been to the mountaintop, or how they don't have much time left. They know it's almost over because they can feel and sense it.
Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. are perfect examples here. They could talk about or hint at their deaths because they could both sense the death in their auras. People who are in tune with their auras and know death is upon them find a solace, contentment, acceptance, and peace. They may look a little frazzled during this time but that's only because of their worry for their loved ones. This is why Malcolm X looked liked he was in a daze weeks before he died. He was worried about his wife and children plus the people he loved. He had peace for and with his own circumstances, but not others, e.g. family and friends. And it is this worry and concern for loved ones that keep many transitioned souls in between worlds after physical death.
I do not believe in calling on any dead person (transitioned souls), including my African ancestors. Why should I and keep them from transitioning? They already left the best parts of their minds in the Akashic Records so why not visit the Universal Library to attain beneficial information they left for others? All good deeds and words are recorded and stored in the Akashic Records. You want the ancestor's beneficial words (wisdom, knowledge) and not necessarily their soul which must go on (future incarnations so as to continue evolving).
 By visiting the Akashic Records or other realms (e.g. 4th Dimension) we don't have to call on the souls of deceased loved ones including ancestors. You can under free will, but it's not beneficial to the soul of the transitioned individual. It keeps them stuck in between realms. Even in death we are receptive to the concerns, worries, and sorrow of our loved ones. But we must remember, our loved ones too have a Guardian angel plus spirit guides. No one has been left behind in God's grace and protection, as well as angels and spirit guides. Everybody has all the help they need on planet Earth to do what they came here to do and to experience what they came here to experience.
So why all the sorrow based upon the illusion of death - the death of the physical shell? The body dies, but not the real person (soul).
And when the soul crosses over from Earth into the Afterlife, the Guardian angel helps in this process. The Guardian angel is there in birth as well as in death (transitioning). At no time in our wholistic existence are we ever alone. If you become conscious of the spiritual realm, you'll come to know you're never alone. You are not alone just because you can't see something on the physical or tangible plane. You are only alone when you forget. Loneliness is forgetfulness. You have forgotten that the physical plane is an illusion, that you are a spiritual being first and foremost and while the physical body can and will die, the real person, the Soul, cannot and will not!
Angels are mentioned in nearly all the religions of the word, especially in the three major religions of the world - Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. You can't open up the Bible or Qur'an without seeing the mentioning of angels.
Angels are accepted by nearly every culture in the world. The knowledge and belief in them is not new at all.
It would greatly benefit you to learn more about your angel(s) and spirit guides. Actually, I highly recommend it.
