Ganoderma Coffee: Don’t Believe the Hype!

Lately at Dherbs.com, we've been getting a lot of inquiries about Ganoderma coffee and it's reported health benefits. Well, I did the independent research and arrived at a conclusion that I am sharing within this article.

First of all, I'm not a coffee drinker. Coffee makes people breath stink and also stains their teeth. It also impairs the adrenal glands and esophagus. And boy does it adversely affect the central nervous system. Coffee may bring (perk) you up temporarily, but it can keep you down for the long haul as far as your health is concerned.

I haven't drank the other kind of black gold since the early 1980s. What I remember from my coffee days as a teen was a hot black beverage that turned tannish brown in color from adding dairy creamer (powdered cow excreta) or milk (liquified cow excreta) and was very sweet from all the toxic white sugar I added to it. We couldn't drink coffee no other way, my family members and I, that is.

My parents introduced coffee to me. Some weekend mornings back in the 1970s and early 1980s, we'd have coffee and glaze donuts for breakfast. Moms and pops would travel to the donut shop on Century Boulevard and Normandie Avenue in Los Angeles and purchase both items. My siblings and I used to dip our donuts in coffee, just how we used to dip our Oreo cookies in liquified cow snot, oops, I mean "just how we used to dip our Oreo cookies in milk."

Many people drink coffee and a lot of folks are really looking to do better, health-wise. Many people want healthier versions of their habit foods and beverages, coffee being no exception here. If Ganoderma coffee really is a healthier kind of coffee, more power to it and the people who drink it, promote it, and sell it. But on the other hand, if it is just another fad to sell an insalubrious product under a healthy title and also happens to contain junk, well, people need to know, so they can make an independent and intelligent decision to continue consuming the product or cutting it out of their diet. It's an independent choice an individual must make for him or her self.

Okay, with that introduction out of the way, let's look into the matter.

Ganoderma (Ganoderma Lucidum) is another name for a well-known mushroom (or fungus) used in alternative health and natural health fields - REISHI!

In Chinese it is known as Ling Zhi, which means "herb of spiritual potency."

Reishi has many well-known therapeutic properties and effects. Along with Shitake and Maitake (also mushrooms), it is one of the three most popular mushrooms in use by herbalists and naturopathic doctors.

Some of the therapeutic or medicinal effects of Ganoderma include, but are not limited to: anti-viral, anti-fungal, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, anti-allergen, kidney and nerve tonic properties.

Okay, we have established that Ganoderma is very beneficial. However, it is being mixed with a substance that is not beneficial to human health. The question to ask is how much Ganoderma is being used in proportion to how much coffee is being used? After all, Ganoderma does not naturally occur with coffee and thus is being added to it, so, again, how much Gandoerma is being used in proportion to coffee? Only specific Gandoerma manufacturers can answer this question, so you might want to pick up the phone and give the manufacturer a call.

I also discovered some brands of Ganoderma coffee contain DAIRY (powdered milk, creamer) and SUGAR! White sugar! Yuck! Sugar is the #1 drug on the planet and kills more people in one day than all illegal drugs combined in one year.

Other brands contain Mono-Diglycerides (pork derivative). Sort of defeats the purpose if one is really into health or on a journey of improving their health.

You have to really check all those additives Ganoderma coffee contains. I discovered a few suspect ingredients that really shouldn't be added to a so-called health product or healthy product.

However, without a doubt, Ganoderma coffee is a far better brand of coffee compared to the commercial brands of coffee on supermarket shelves, brands like Folgers, Maxwell House, Starbucks, Seattle's Best, etc. Who knows, maybe Ganoderma coffee will end up being sold at Starbucks and Seattle's Best in the near future. Fads, including health fads, pick up fast in the U.S.

Personally, I believe Ganoderma coffee is just an attempt to sell a more healthier kind of an already bad product - coffee, considering how coffee is so insalubrious and injurious to human health. But hey, folks were drinking coffee way before I was born and will be drinking the beverage long after I'm gone. I don't expect anything to change. Westerners love their coffee! That's a serious morning fix for millions of coffee fiends.

My final words on Ganoderma coffee is this: if you feel you must drink coffee, then Ganoderma is clearly the better and best choice you could make. However, since Ganoderma coffee is selling itself more so as Ganoderma (rather than coffee) which we know is Reishi mushroom or fungus, the healthy component of Ganoderma coffee, folks who really want the medicinal effects of Ganoderma should just opt for consuming Ganoderma capsules or extract (or even tea if you can find it). Why mix it with coffee which is detrimental to human health?

At any rate, it's your choice pursuant to the Law of Free Will. Everybody on this planet gets to choose what they will and will not do. Even when it appears we have no choice, we do. There's always a choice.

If you're drinking Ganoderma coffee at present and enjoy it, by all means keep drinking it. The key thing to remember is your joy (from drinking it). Your joy actually helps to offset and slow down any damage coffee consumption may be doing to you.
