Friday the 13th being a day of bad luck is based entirely on superstition and ignorance. And like famed Motown singer Stevie Wonder said in a song (also called "Superstition"): "When you believe in things that you don't understand, then you suffer - superstition ain't the way!"
I have to concur with Stevie here because I have personal experience in believing in things that I didn't understand, when I was young, and I greatly suffered as a consequence. However, it was Stevie's lyrics that helped to free my mind of superstition that my parents, relatives, and schoolteachers inculcated me with. Truly, as the biblical Jesus stated: "ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free!"
Friday
It's very interesting that the only day of the week named in honor of a female or woman (Goddess) is Friday, named in honor of the pagan goddess Freya or Frigg.
Friday is a corruption of "Freya's Day" or "Frigg's Day." Yes, despite the United States being an alleged Christian nation, we honor pagan gods, and we must not try to fool ourselves and think that this nation's Founding Fathers did not know the seven days of the week were in fact named after pagan gods. They knew!
It truly amazes me how national leaders and Christians themselves have allowed the days of the week and the months of the year of the Western calendar to remain named in honor of pagan gods instead of their angels, saints, or even the 12 disciples of Jesus.
So today, despite the fact of us being Muslim, Christian, or Jew, in the Western world, folks are unconsciously acknowledging pagan gods. This is how unconscious most of us are. We may know the names of the seven days of the week, but we have no idea where the names derive from or the history behind the names of the seven days of the week or even the 12 months of the year.
Now on the other hand, if you're a pagan, by no means am I condemning pagans. The facts are clear and it can be proven in no amount of time that pagans are more in tune with Nature and the Universe than are so-called religious people. Whereas religious people acknowledge the New Year as beginning January 1, pagans correctly acknowledge the New Year beginning in March (around the 20th to the 25th of the month). Pagans also live in tune with the Earth.
So my intention is not to adversely indict religious folks (Christians, Jews, Muslims) or pagans, but to just make an objective point.
Now according to feminist researcher Barbara G. Walker, Friday is considered unlucky because of its connection to the Goddess, a concept detested by Christian monks. Please reference the following:
"Friday ...Day of the Goddess Freya, called unlucky by Christian monks, because everything associated with female divinity was so called." Women's Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets, p. 325
"Romans named the day dies Veneris after Venus, their own version of the same Goddess. In modern French, Friday is still vendredi, and Italian, venerdi. Friday used to be the seventh day of the week. It was the Sabbath of the Jewish lunar calendar and is still the Sabbath of Islam. Scandinavian pagans, Hindus, and rural Scots insisted that Friday was the most propitious day for a marriage because it was the day that favored fertility. Fish were eaten on Friday as fertility charms, in honor of Venus (or Freya) whose totems they were. Fish are still considered "aphrodisiac" food because they were sacred to Aphrodite. Thus the Catholic habit of eating fish on Friday was wholly pagan in origin. But the Church never acknowledged the debt. In the Middle Ages, when pagan votaries of Freya continued to celebrate her rites on Friday, churchmen designated her day as the day of "devil worship." Ibid, p. 326
Now here is the Western historical and occult secret behind Friday the 13th. In Goddess and pagan lore, the Number 19 represents the sacred number of the Goddess. Friday the 13th combines the individual sacred goddess numbers of "6" and "13" and when these two numbers are added, you get the Number 19:
"Friday the 13th was said to be especially unlucky because it combined the Goddess's sacred day [Friday] with her sacred number, drawn from the 13 months of the pagan lunar year." Ibid
So we have Friday being the 6th day of the week and then we have the number 13 or the 13th day of the month falling on the 6th day of the week giving us 6 + 13, which = 19.
For pagans, 13 is actually a lucky number but for many religious and ignorant folk, 13 is an unlucky number.
Mythologist Joseph Campbell taught the significance of the number 13 as it applied and related to Jesus, at least in an arcane, esoteric, or metaphysical sense.
Jesus' 12 disciples represented a perfect circle or cipher (circle of life, 12 departments of life denoted by the Zodiac) and Jesus being the 13th person of the group denoted Jesus being outside of the circle of life, basically Jesus being in the realm of the unknown (death, the mysterious) which most people are afraid of.
Jesus had to die in order to enter into the realm of the unknown. This was not an actual physical death referred to in this sense, but a death to or of a certain dimension (the 3rd Dimension).
Jesus is inviting his follower or those who believe in his way to die - to die from the world (the Matrix), the world of man, the world of illusion - the material world; but the truth of the matter is, most people (even the modern Christians) are outright afraid to die (give up) this world. Jesus' goal is to help balance people, because most people are more involved with the material world and material values of life rather than the spiritual world and the spiritual values of life and so there's an imbalance here and the answer to bring back balance lies in the realm of the spiritual because it's the realm that is neglected by most people, especially in the Western world.
Jesus is only leading people into the unknown realm so that they can understand the known or material world better and so as to be able to master their environment and control their own destinies as they cultivate their souls.
So Jesus is inviting people to experience crucifixion. Crucifixion is the door, the way out but also the way in! However, it is not a literal crucifixion as you don't have to be physically harmed in order to enter into the spiritual dimension of existence. But you will have to forgo some things (material things of the world) as a test, as an initiation. Strict discipline is required and those who accept the discipline become "disciples." There is no becoming a disciple absent discipline. Unfortunately, most modern day Christians lack the discipline to be true followers of Christ. They would rather simply worship Jesus with lip service rather than pick up their cross (experiencing their burdens, trials, and tribulations for going against the grain of this world, the Matrix) and do the actual works and actions of Jesus who is attributed as saying, "Greater works than I do shall ye do!"
You will not see nor have you met one single Christian who has outperformed Jesus despite the man saying "Greater works than I do shall ye do" referring to his followers and the believers.
So to remain comfortable in the world of man and so as to experience convenience, folks just simply praise Jesus (mostly on Sunday) and then leave church and go right back to the ways of the world and despite allegedly being so-called 'saved', they too (these so-called believers) catch the same amount of hell as the non or disbeliever and you will see this in their health, their relationships, the sexual and intimate relationships, their job situation, their financial situation, etc.
They too get and are getting punked by worldly authority. Christians (just like Muslims) are not even supposed to deal with or participate in usury (interest, from credit) but they do and they do it in Jesus' name and as powerless people; and what's their excuse? Answer: Simply saying "Render unto Caesar the things that belong to Caesar (government)."
So today, we have a world full of Christians, but not people who are Christ-like and who LIVE Jesus (his example of living on the Earth). They mean well and are well-intentioned people, but they are mostly ignorant and unconscious and that's why they too perish from a lack of knowledge, more precisely - a lack of knowledge of Divine/Universal Law. They also perish because they have outright REJECTED knowledge!
The number 13 is another one of those powerful things (words) that the Rulers of this Matrix have given a dark and sinister history or account to in order to keep the ignorant masses away from it, which makes it easier for the Rulers of the Matrix to control and exploit the masses of the people.
The Rulers have also done the same thing with astrology, numerology, magick, wicca, palmistry, and other occult sciences. You can even add Kemetology to the list! These sciences are not sinister at all and are based on ancient sciences. Remember, everything in the Universe and Multiverse derives from God (Source), even evil (so says Isaiah the prophet in Isaiah 45:7), so why would people be made afraid of certain branches and fields of knowledge? Can you say: CONTROL?
There are hundreds of millions of messed up people in the world and they really don't have to be messed up. People are abused, oppressed, exploited, they are struggling to make it (operating on survival mode), their relationships are crappy; sex lives all messed up; they don't feel loved and are afraid to love, their upbringing was all messed up, they are in financial disarray, they are working jobs where they are not happy being there but are there really against their will because they have to make a living; they are depressed, confused in and about life and their purpose for being alive here on the planet; they are afraid and fearful just because or really for no reason at all or simply because they are ignorant; their hearts are pained, hurt, and closed (especially a lot of females); they are sick and tired of being sick and tired and don't know what to do, and it's really sad because God has given all of these people every single thing they need to really enjoy this life and do every single thing under the sun they desire to do and came to Earth to do, but unfortunately, the necessary information and knowledge has been placed under an umbrella of terms the masses are told to stay away from lest they anger God as if God is a respecter of persons.
It's really a shame (but understandable) how a small group of men keep the masses deaf, dumb, and blind and keep the occult sciences to themselves and control the destinies of billions of people (the flock, the sheeple).
Remember that scene in the beginning of the DVD "The Secret" with the men at the roundtable who decided that the so-called 'Secret' (Universal law) would be hidden from the masses? That really happened and happens all the time.
A secret elite group or cabal of men play chess and Monopoly with people's lives and all because people in their ignorance consented to it by waiving their personal sovereignty and buying into the notion that people need to be ruled, governed, and regulated by body politics. Well, just look around at the state of your nation and the world for the results of such thinking and belief.
Like I always tell people: "Ignorance is a damnable thing!"
Now despite my words supra, for me personally, life (my life) and life on this great planet is absolutely wonderful and that's because I control and shape my own perception and reality based upon being in control of my thoughts and emotions and therefore my destiny. I have learned very valuable golden rules of life over the years and I apply them and live by them daily.
There is no need to suffer from paraskavedekatriaphobia (para-ska-ved-e-ka-tria-phobia), a Greek word meaning 'a fear of Friday the 13th.'
Paraskavedekatriaphobia is a specialized form of 'triskaidekaphobia' which is a simple phobia (fear) of the number thirteen (13). This word was derived in the year 1911 and first appeared in a mainstream source in 1953.
The word 'friggatriskaidekaphobia' means a phobia (fear) of the day Friday.
You will not find written evidence of Friday the 13th folklore or superstition before the 19th century. The earliest known written source or documented reference of 'Friday the 13th' is found in Giochino Rossini's 1869 biography. Incidentally, Mr. Rossini himself died on Friday the 13th. Perhaps he attracted his death in response to the energy of paraskavedekatriaphobia, triskaidekaphobia, and friggatriskaidekaphobia. And like they say: "What you fear will appear!" and "Where thought goes, energy flows!"
There are many people who really believe that Friday the 13th is an unlucky day. Consider the following:
"According to the Stress Management Center and Phobia Institute in Asheville, North Carolina, an estimated 17 to 21 million people in the United States are affected by a fear of this day. Some people are so paralyzed by fear that they avoid their normal routines in doing business, taking flights or even getting out of bed. "It's been estimated that $800 - $900 million [US currency] is lost in business on this day".
Hollywood films that have themes around the number 13 being bad, evil, or negative only help enhance people's superstitions about the number and the same is true pertaining to Friday the 13th. Movies that come to mind include the Friday the 13th series (parts 1 through 8, plus the recent remakes), the 13th Floor, 13B, and Number 13 (premiering in 2011).
In closing, if you believe that Friday the 13th is an unlucky day, chances are you will attract unto yourself negative experiences and on the other hand, if you believe that Friday the 13th is a lucky day (such as I do), perhaps you will attract unto yourself positive experiences. We get back what we send out in thought and feeling (emotion).
Personally, Friday is my favorite day of the week. But then again, as a Venus ruled sign [Taurus] in the Western Zodiac, Friday is my ruling day so I am simply bound by nature and astral influence to enjoy the energy of this day and I do. I absolutely enjoy the vibration this day gives off and from the very beginning of this present life incarnation I have enjoyed this day.
