At Dherbs.com, we do not recommend the use of Emu Oil because it is derived from an animal. Dherbs.com believes in and supports animal rights. We do not believe that animals were placed on Earth for man's use or to serve man's needs and purposes.
Man has been exploiting and harming animals for purposes of food, clothing, furniture, pets, entertainment, and medical research and it plays a role in the energetic imbalance on the planet and I personally believe it creates a kind of "species" karma in the sense that man kills animals for his vain reasons and in turn, via a host of dietary-related diseases, animals are killing man and rightfully and justifiably so.
Modern commercialized man is not like ancient man who only killed animals when he deemed it necessary. Ancient man never killed more than was needed to provide himself and his family food. Ancient man was not greedy. He never made a business off of animal flesh like fast food restaurants have, killing millions of land and water animals for commercial purposes to keep profits rolling in.
Dherbs.com does not support "speci-ism" where one species dominates another species, a weaker species. This subject was covered in the DVD "Earthlings" hosted by actor Joaquin Phoenix: HYPERLINK "http://www.earthlings.com" www.earthlings.com
Despite the fact that Emu Oil has been used for thousands of years by the Australian aborigines to reduce pain and swelling, burns (including sunburn), and itchy rash (including skin rash), we believe that man, present-day man, can prevent the diseases and situations described above, or in the alternative, produce natural products that produce the same therapeutic effects as Emu Oil.
According to 'Outback Emuzing Ranch', "Emu are members of the Ratite family of flightless birds, which have small or underdeveloped wings. Emu, the world's second largest living bird have survived 80 million years in their native Australia where they are found in the deserts, forests and on the plains. Emu were originally imported to the United States from 1930 to 1950 as exotic zoo stock. In 1960, the Emu was designated Australia's national bird, and an Australian government ban on exporting the Emu has been in effect for over 30 years. Emu are curious and docile. They are about 10-inches tall at birth, with black and white stripes. As 3-month-old chicks, they turn nearly solid black and change into a tan, brown and black mixture as adults, some having a bluish neck. The feathers are downy, with no stiff vein running through the center. Emu, when mature, stand 5 to 6 feet tall, weigh up to 150 lbs. and are long-lived (up to 30 yrs. recorded by zoos). Emu are strong runners reaching 60 km/hr. in short bursts taking 9 ft. strides."
And further,
"Emu adapt well from temperature extremes in excess of 100 degrees to below zero. No diseases have yet been diagnosed as common to the species. They can exist on a simple diet and require a lot of water, drinking 2 to 4 gallons daily. They also will play in water or mud. Emu are quite prolific, each mature breeding pair producing 20 to 50 eggs per year. The eggs are dark avocado green, about 5 in. long and weigh on average 600 grams. The hen lays an egg every third day during the laying season ( Nov. - May). In the wild, the male incubates the eggs and raises the chicks. The eggs hatch in 52 days, producing a chick which will walk within hours and run within days. The chicks achieve rapid growth, gaining their height by one year of age. After six months, the birds have shed most of their chick feathers for the fluffy, elegant feathers of the adult. For most climate conditions, the birds need shelter during the first few months. The birds are a very hardy and adaptable bird." ibid supra
The Emu is an animal. It is not medicine nor is it food. Why must man live against the laws of Nature and mess himself up and then look to the animal kingdom as and for the solution? Emu do not invest in Human Oil so why is it that man is investing in Emu Oil?
Emu and other animals do not have the same kinds of problems as man because Emu and other animals live in harmony with Nature whereas man is constantly going against Nature, thinking he can do things better than Nature which means he thinks he can do things better than God. Modern man has become a threat to the whole damn planet and damn near everything in it.
Man corrupts nearly everything that is vital and necessary to maintain life and existence. He corrupts the water and now has made a whole industry out of filtering the water he has corrupted and polluted with his toxic chemicals, referring to the bottle water industry, of course.
Man has corrupted the air and now has made an industry with air filtration.
Man has corrupted the food: fruit, vegetables, grains, etc. Though meat is not really food for man, man has corrupted the animals, genetically engineering animals and cloning animals.
Each and everyday, man is destroying rainforest all over this planet and all for commercial purposes. Man has gone insane in his foolish attempt to improve upon God/Nature.
Man is so far gone in the head that man even corrupts man. Look at what man is doing to innocent little babies with dangerous vaccines; collecting harmful junk products and waste products and liquefying them all together and converting them into vaccine serums to give to innocent people under the banner of public safety.
Again, we say "NO!" to Emu Oil!
If you have arthritis, we suggest you follow our all-natural recommendations in our "Arthritis" article.
If you have eczema, please follow the advice in our article "Skin Disorder = Blood Disorder".
If you suffer from sunburn, please check out our new natural "Sunscreen Oil" made entirely from botanical oils.
There are many essential oils that can be used for anti-inflammatory (or anti-pain) purposes, oils such as Wintergreen, Peppermint, Spearmint, and Birch. These oils contain natural and moderate amounts of 'salicin' that converts into salicyclic acid that is anti-inflammatory in nature and thus relieves and counteract pain.
You do not have to use oil from the innocent Emu bird. Nature placed the oil of the Emu in its body for the Emu's purpose, not man's.
Man always wants pain to go away without first deciphering the message that pains conveys. Pain is an ally, not an enemy. Pain lets us know something is wrong simply because we have done something wrong, or that we have gone against Nature or the Tao (Way). This is the message of pain.
